Thank you! This video is amazing, I just received my pastels today! Also I’ve noticed that if you’re in a pinch a wash of acrylic paint also works as well but it won’t have that chunky effect
Thanks for this tutorial! I just ordered the pastels. I make props to use in our vintage videos we shoot for our RUclips channel and I needed this for an archeological video.
Thank you so very much for sharing your process!!! I've been struggling to get a good weather effect on my cosplay and this has given me hope to try again!
You can with matte varnish or alternatively add in some pigment binder to help adhesion. If its too chunky on the surface the varnish won't keep it in place. So be mindful of how much "mud" you're adding!
Did you do it any differently for the chest piece? It looks overall less muddy and more so confined to cracks and crevices and edges on the piece rather than the whole thing
Super helpful man. I’ll probably be using this to make the suit for the end of The Batman 2022, after the flood.
Omg! Can’t believe how simple that is! And looks amazing! Thanks for making this man
Anytime bro. Thanks for the Idea!!!
you can also buy just earth tone pastel sets for under 15 which will give yeah more earth tones as well.
Even better!

Oooh this will be great for that application!
I’m definitely going to try this on my armor once I get closer to finishing it! It looks better than just doing paint chipping and scratches

Pastels.... that's such a good quick process. Thanks for this!
Dude this was so fun to watch
Do you need to seal it once you're done to prevent it rubbing off or does it stay pretty much as is?
Wondering the same. Oh, and thanks for showing your technique, Darryl!

Great tutorial, I was just wondering if there is much transfer of the pastel pigment onto other surfaces?

Would this work on fabric?

After, Always after!
does this work on fabric, or would we need a fabric medium??
I haven't tried it but i bet it would
Yessssirrrrr

Dirty video Dude!
Does Jun need to get dirty? Hmmm
I think Jun needs to get dirty!
Does this work on cloth?
Yes but you don’t want it clumped. It’ll stain fabric and that’s what you want.
