I've been struggling for some time with the feeling that I can often understand many of the things I take notes about to the point that I can comfortably put them in my own words yet this understanding seems to vanish after a not so long time and I have to redo the digesting once again. I think I might be trying to cover too many topics or too inconsistently, but it is quite frustrating.
You are certainly not alone in having this concern. I think the only ways to digest information in a way that will make it stick is to produce something based on it (e.g. an essay, video, etc.) or teach it to others (something I am fortunately in the position to do on a regular basis).

OK, I just watched the entire six-part series in a single setting but keep refreshing and number seven doesn't seem to be out yet.
