Brilliant performance. Have listened to other pianists, do not want to compare, as they are individuals in their interpretation.
I always go back to Ivo's performance. it is magical.
He played this in 1981, one year after Chopin competition.
The jurors did him a favour, he became famous instantly. Thank you Martha Argerich!!!
Yes he is unique, thank goodness for that. Ivo, do not experment to much, you dont have to.
You are a sentational pianist and an artist!!
Wishing you many years of success!!!!
Wow one year after **that** Chopin competition. Thanks for bringing this up!
Yes. Argerich rules yet. She had the integrity and guts to balk from the jury. No wonder. I regret that I cannot find her rendition of this glorious work.
I discovered Ivo when he just started, in Paris. He gave a Unesco benefit concert, and that was also the last public appearance of Yehudi Menuhin. It was a very moving event. I had chills going down my spine hearing Ivo play... and have been a fan ever since!
Bien parlé
Nobody has ever played it better.
An enormously gifted pianist who became a target of the nastiest witch hunt of the 20th century piano politics.
Are you referring to the Chopin Piano Competition, or something else that I'm not aware of?
@@craigresnianky6909 He has always been a victim of criticism because of the way he performs certain pieces. But even this days he is still a target of criticism. Those "piano politics" still say he is controversial , capricious, etc
Schumann is finally pleased with a truly definitive rendering of this glorious work. I will follow this genius, this gift to all, and buy every single work this artist has to offer. No offense to the leagues of artists who have done this work it’s due, but I must say that I am believing in heaven once again. ♥️🎶♥️
Schumann frees shackles with this piece
There is always a bit bizarre side to Pogorelich's interpretations, but this is, with all it's strange interpretational choices, stunningly beautiful.
what a musician. what a musician. a real, true musician.
muchas gracias!!!!! ivo me encanta!
Outstanding.
Expressif et impressionnant!
Hervorragend!!!
Wunderbar!!!
Etude 2:01
Such a great piece. I just love what Geza Anda does with this. Some good one studio and live performances here on YT
Well, when he was young he was good looking.
brilliante uitvoering
21:19 - Man is playing a COMPOUND FIFTH (12th) with no break... His hands are behemoth.
Grüsse aus Ulm, von Schumanns, Bartholdys und Chopin Fan. Olga Daniel Johann Henry
bravo

what ever happened to Ivo? last time i saw him a few years ago he went completely bald and gained so much weight as to be totally unrecognizable. his playing also was very mannered and shall we say 'weird'.
I had the same experience. I adored the man 40 years ago, but the last time I heard him in a life concert 10 years ago it was simply weird full of mannerism. For instance he played a polonaise extremely boringly slow. A pity. But his recordings of 40 years ago are fabulous
I assumed from the running time that this included the 5 bonus variations. It doesn't...
Quite a few people go over the 30-minute mark.

ciao! Bella eh la versione di Pogo?
Can any one name a better looking pianist?
Brahms at age 20 to 30.
@@raymondgood6555 Ivo can outplay Brahms with one hand. And Brahms never looked that good.
Check Samson François
@@legamatureYou obviously haven't seen young Johannes at the gym in 1853...
@@Pogouldangeliwitz Looked like Arnold.
Gerada fehlte Schumann was hier exerziert wird. Da hilft superbe Pianistik nichts.
The first two numbers were quite good, but he lost me on the third... instead of a passionate Romantic take-off we had elephants plodding through the Alps. Sofronitsky wins here.
