    Brilliant performance. Have listened to other pianists, do not want to compare, as they are individuals in their interpretation.
    I always go back to Ivo's performance. it is magical.
    He played this in 1981, one year after Chopin competition.
    The jurors did him a favour, he became famous instantly. Thank you Martha Argerich!!!
    Yes he is unique, thank goodness for that. Ivo, do not experment to much, you dont have to.
    You are a sentational pianist and an artist!!
    Wishing you many years of success!!!!

      Yes. Argerich rules yet. She had the integrity and guts to balk from the jury. No wonder. I regret that I cannot find her rendition of this glorious work.

    I discovered Ivo when he just started, in Paris. He gave a Unesco benefit concert, and that was also the last public appearance of Yehudi Menuhin. It was a very moving event. I had chills going down my spine hearing Ivo play... and have been a fan ever since!

      @@craigresnianky6909 He has always been a victim of criticism because of the way he performs certain pieces. But even this days he is still a target of criticism. Those "piano politics" still say he is controversial , capricious, etc

    Schumann is finally pleased with a truly definitive rendering of this glorious work. I will follow this genius, this gift to all, and buy every single work this artist has to offer. No offense to the leagues of artists who have done this work it’s due, but I must say that I am believing in heaven once again. ♥️🎶♥️

    Pas mieux que Pogorelich dans cette œuvre, depuis Cortot (pour la lisibilité, les couleurs sonores et l’articulation si subtile). Mais Pogo la rend tragique, et donc, vraiment schumanienne.
    Le jury du concours Chopin, avec sa confiture de tradition figée, s’est fourvoyé. Il n’a pas admis la personnalité et la créativité qui font la différence entre un interprète et un artiste. On ne demandait pas seulement de jouer du Chopin, mais de jouer enfin du piano.
    Argerich nous a donné Ivo, en démontrant par ailleurs que « les concours, c’est pour les chevaux » (comme disait Leonard Bernstein). J’ai ce disque depuis ma jeunesse. DGG a fait un bon coup.

    Schumanns Tempoangabe ist für das Viertel =52 Pogorelic spielt um die =40 es steht Andaante und er spielt Grave

    • @musicandliterature47
      @musicandliterature47 8 лет назад +2

      Sie haben vollkommen recht. Die Tempoangabe ist in der Tat Andante, trotzdem spielt dieser junge Virtuose das Thema unerträglich langsam. Viele andere Pianisten neigen dazu, das Gleiche zu tun, aber sie gehen nicht so weit in diese Richtung. Noch einmal kann die Aufführung Alfred Brendels als Vorbild dienen.

    what ever happened to Ivo? last time i saw him a few years ago he went completely bald and gained so much weight as to be totally unrecognizable. his playing also was very mannered and shall we say 'weird'.

    • @diogenes020
      @diogenes020 2 года назад

      I had the same experience. I adored the man 40 years ago, but the last time I heard him in a life concert 10 years ago it was simply weird full of mannerism. For instance he played a polonaise extremely boringly slow. A pity. But his recordings of 40 years ago are fabulous

    Immense pianiste, très belle version de Pogorelich, mais dans cette œuvre je préfère le souffle et l'allant de Pollini chez DG en studio de 1984

  • @radovanlorkovic3562

    Warum das affektierte langsame Tempo im Thema? Der Bruder Lovro machts nach. Es fehlt total am Verständnis für die Lauterkeit von Schumanns Seele! Gerada fehlte Schumann was hier exerziert wird. Da hilft superbe Pianistik nichts.
