Fromsoft games are basically only as difficult as you don't know what is going on. Once you have a feel of the basic, it's about getting a feel for situation. Once you get a feel for situation, it's about getting a feel for pace and rhythm. It's the kind of thing you can really understand better at the DO part. When doing things you get to feel the actions with your pace and to their pace as the data to make decisions on and if the damage is good then you can trust it's effective. By end game the hardest skill is discipline of being excited. You will fight something pretty tough, and you could make a mistake that could kill you, but that boss health bar is pretty low. It's easy to get focus on the rush for success that you jeopardize your own survival. This is called being greedy, and greed is one of the deadliest sins.
Another youtuber I watch has a similar concept. Monty Zander has the Noobus Humanus series where he sees how well his wife navigates the early hours of a game. The first videos were all FromSoft games.
Ey nice. I really like Razbuten, especially the "...for a non gamer" videos. Edit: I would actually recommend his very first video on this. He brought up a few points that i at that point never really had thought about.
The way his wife started reminds me of myself lol.. I played elden before any other fromsoft games. Like a lot this was my first intro. I’ve now since beaten every fromsoft game except bloodborne. However, my first time on elden ring… I must’ve had 10 or so hours on a character and thought I wasted my money lol…. However I convinced myself to start a new character with the samurai build and did exceptionally better.. took me a bit but no game has felt as rewarding as elden ring. Going from the dude who thought I wasted 60$ and regretted my choice to being the guy with like 800 hours on elden ring across my ps5 and Xbox S lol.. it is hands down among my favorite games ever created. I get it isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but I urge everyone to stick with it just a lil longer. Cuz I swear I was like his wife once upon a time lol
These games are frustrating for sure. Areas where you just get swarmed with enemies, poison, the bosses, etc. However once you finally overcome them it's like a drug. You are so stoked, so happy and relieved it's over that you can't help but press on to get that rush again.
I went from playing some mobile games which are barely games to playing Elden ring as first real game after I was able to afford my own gaming pc. And it was fantastic went on to devour every Fromsoft games on pc
Not much. I was pretty excited about it originally, but I don't have the system needed to actually play it (though I DID want to play as Sho). And then everyone stopped talking about it altogether.
@@ChicagoReacts Shame, was about in the same boat, but its on steam now, so I really should pick it up. I never heard anything negative about it, but they sure didnt put any marketing behind it either...
In every game Fromsoft has ever made, there's a bottomless pit in the first room of the game, just to establish tone. Just to let you know, "Yes, the devs hate you, get used to it." Personal favorite being Kings Field 2, where the bottomless pit is invisible because it has an illusionary floor that is a slightly different color from the rest of the floor, over it. And rolling is almost never what you're supposed to do. Fromsoft made the roll go half the distance and have half as many frames of invicibility as previous games, and everyone just keeps doing it.
Disagree, rolling is still the most viable option. Not rolling is optimal for those who do challenge runs andake content around it, cause they look up hitboxes frame data and so on, which average player will never know
@@battlefuta9953 Eh, not really. If it's a vertical attack, just press the run button and go left or right. If it's a horizontal attack jumping or ducking avoids the entire attack. If it's a flurry of attacks, press the run button and just run slightly out of range. That and they made shields way better. They added far more shields. They made blocking with a weapon twice as good as previous games. And also added guard counters, so attacks after you guard deal double damage. They REALLY don't want you dodging unless you're using bloodhound step.
@@acrab6527 When did people start spreading this lie that rolling is no longer as viable in Elden ring? Get out of here with that nonsense. Rolling works in EVERY fight, with no exception. Hell, PC Radahn had one attack that couldn't be rolled through, and they patched it to make it more rollable. Yes, patched it to make it more ROLLABLE, because the roll is still your most effective universal evasive option by FAR. With maybe one or two exceptions, there's not a single jumpable attack that can't be rolled through, but there are tons of attacks that can be rolled but can't be jumped, it's that simple. I also love how you suggested to just run when it's a horizontal move, as if positioning has any consistency in this gane when everyone has massive tracking with every move. Very few bosses in the game have positioning be integral to their fight, and even rarer is for an attack to be dodgable by only positioning. At most, you need to roll a certain direction instead of anywhere and that's it for the "positioning" part of the game. Funny how the tracking wasn't even mentioned in your comment, given that it would break both of the premises: That rolling isn't as viable, and that positioning is a consistent method of evasion, both of which aren't true because they deliberately design everything to be rollable.
@@yanribeiro7108 wow, you didn't even read what I wrote, as my comment already answered everything you said. Here's all the evidence you need. Malenia is only hard if you dodge roll, and easy with shields or running and jumping. Done.
@acrab6527 Do you know literally nothing about this game at all? Like, the fuck are you even saying? Malenia will literally heal she hits your shield, you could not have picked a worst example. Infact, I'm starting to think you deliberately picked this example because you're trolling me the entire time, but I'll pretend it's serious for now. Also, malenia has a grand total of 2 attacks that can't be dodged by rolling. Specifically, waterfowl and the clones, and not even those are technically true since you can easily roll through the second part of waterfowl, or you can use light equipment rolls to back off faster than a regular start-up run. And as for the clones, the very last clone before her final move almost always reaches you even if you run as soon as it starts, so you, guess what? Roll it. Other than those two not even full exceptions, all her attacks are consistently rollable, even her aeonia AOE. Thank you for proving my point by picking the best example: Someone that CAN'T be fought with shields. At absolute most, a shield can block waterfowl, which is not that great of a method because she heals substantially. I'm beginning to think all your knowledge of this game comes from the hundreds of bad videos glazing it to hell and high heaven. I read all of what you wrote, and none of it made any sense. Considering that you barely even responded to my points, surely you haven't read what I wrote? There's certainly a better case for that argument there.

when I first played elden ring I legit skipped the tutorial cause I assumed it was a death pit. I mean why wouldn't it be?
Looks like an interesting game. I think I'm gonna try it.

I've been an xbox player for most of my life but I still prefer a playstation controller for fromsoft games
