- This may be Angelina Jordan's best cover yet. I am so glad I finally got around to making an Angelina Jordan reaction of her cover of Adele's All I Ask. In my 61 yrs on earth I have listened to every kind of music and singers of every genre. I was born into a musical family so music has always been a constant in my life. However, there is no one like Angelina Jordan. She is unique, authentic and has the voice of an angel. Her voice reaches into the depths of my heart like no other singer has before. Thank you for your reaction, it was beautiful.

Yes, Angelina's tone is warm and soothing. But there are many more differences that make her performance really stand out. She has that scratchy little vocal fry that she injects just at the right times. She goes into that breathy voice that makes it more intimate. She has that sweet vibrato she uses effectively. Her runs are tasteful, not overdone. Her belting is impressive, she doesn't hold back. And the whole thing is wrapped up and delivered with such total commitment and feeling that you feel like she is not just singing, but she is singing TO YOU. Another masterpiece from our Angel.

Try listening to Morissette Amon’s version. She was holding back 90% of her vocal prowess but was still very powerful. BTW, it was done Live in a concert done Aug of 2016 when she was just 20. Now, she has improved immensely & released two original songs she & her fiancee composed & produced, ‘Love You Still and recently, Phoenix. Check them out & you won’t be disappointed.

While I love listening to my favorite vocalist in my 79 years on Earth, I also love watching her. Angelina just doesn't sing, she lets the music flow through her, as can be seen highlighted in any musical interlude during a song. So Angelina just doesn't sing, Angelina IS the song, Angelina IS the music. This cover is Angelina Jordan perfection!

Listening to her perform is an honor. She draws your soul in and envelopes it in a way Whitney could. I wonder where her soul has been in order to embrace her musical expression in a way so soothing as her voice washes over your soul, leaving you to only to exhale and smile.
So interesting to compare. I love Adele, but to me Angelina is in a different universe as a singer. She brings the warmth of both her kind heart and her God-given tone to every song, especially songs about love and loss. You're absolutely right, her tone is so warm and full. A once in a hundred years voice. Thanks for a wonderful reaction and comparison.

singer is able to do. Because of this, Angelina just produces something so conducive to
being welcomed into the depths of the human soul with her runs and passionate delivery.

I am not here to bash Adele. I believe she has a superior voice and admire the way she puts it to use. On the other hand, listening to Adele sing has never brought me to tears and while listening to Angelina I find myself struggling not to cry. It's not necessarily what she is saying but the emotional method she has mastered to connect with my heart. Subtle yet overwhelming.

I listened to the first half of Adele singing here, and then I skipped ahead to where Angelina starts. "IF" Angelina had never sang this song, Adele's version would have been fine, BUT Angelina just made the song her own, as she always does, and Adele's now pales in comparison, thus my skipping ahead to get to the good stuff. Oh yeah, and I've listened to this well over 100 times already, and I'm sure every time I wiped a little tears from my eyes. I won't say this is my most favorite Angelina song, but it's right up there at the top.

Republic Records definitely know what they have found with Angelina, which is why they nurture her and work with her in an unforced natural way, she is the rawest pure talent and best female vocalist of the last and probably the next century…. and that’s no throw away statement given the talent that’s out there today and before!
Your reaction easily resonates with her fans, it’s so hard to describe the feeling she creates when listening to her sing, it’s akin to something spiritual! Others have commented that Adele sounds more harsh, but that’s just her singing style, her genius was to conceive of and help write the song. Angelina’s genius is to tell the story and communicate with us as listeners better than other female vocalist I have ever heard, she makes it a very personal experience!

Since I am a woman and can only speak from my experience, Angelina sings as though she is 30 something, heartbroken and saying farewell to her one and only love. She performed in this manner when she sang "Gloomy Sunday" on Norway's Got Talent and that talent has grown with every time in front of the microphone. Angelina has a gift I have never seen in my 75 years on this earth ♥

You're right but you forgot to mention the most incredible thing about AJ, that make her stand out so much and make her so incredibly unique: Her ability to express EMOTIONS like no others. Many singer sings good, but has no emotions or soul in their singing, make 95% just ordinary. Then you have those rest of the singers that are very good. But AJ is this 0.001% that got it ALL!! 🥰
Although I think the two shone, each with their own singing style, but Angelina put more soul, more feeling, more warmth in the interpretation of this song. Great, emotional reaction. I like how you included Adele’s original version so we could compare, but at the same time as I listened to that I couldn’t help but think “come on, let’s get to the good stuff!” As you say, Angelina’s voice is warmer, but it is also richer and more textured, and the singing is much more nuanced and sophisticated. A truly astounding performance by a musical genius. Also, this performance has, for me, grown in stature with repeated listenings more than any of her others. How much has it grown on you?

And I love Adele and always will and I should have seen her live in concert at Wembley in the UK in July 2017 but she had to cancel the last 2 nights of concerts due to voice problems. :-( So it sort of seems strange to think I will (hopefully) see Angelina live in concert before Adele as AJ is higher now on my list of who I want to see next. ( Well let's be honest ! Angelina is top of my list ! :-) ) - In fact, do you know Pontus, (or anyway else reading this comment - is she actually playing July 8th and 9th in Norway this year. Great reaction. As with every song that she sings, Angelina does more than simply produce a good vocal performance. She tells the story of the song through dynamics, expression, and tonal changes. I have never heard a singer do this better than Angelina. Many artists do a great job of creating a great vocal sound and well composed song performance, but very few can communicate the story of the song as well. What amazes me is that Adele wrote this song from her own life experiences, and she sings it from that place of having lived the story, and does an awesome job believably communicating it. However, when Angelina sings the same song, she projects the story so well that she makes the listener feel as if they have personally lived the experience themselves. It is an incredible phenomenon.

( Not that we are complaining) This song should prove to them, (assuming they know about it) that she is worth putting huge amounts of money on the line for their "HUGE GLOBAL PROMOTION" they spoke of when she signed. This song WITH HER SINGING IT should be seen all over the world. When she sings it Yes, I do break down in tears every time, but it is tears of Happiness. Happiness for her, because I know she will eventually become as famous as Celene, or Barbara. To me she is a Goddess, not just a Prodegy.
To me it almost sounded like Adele was breaking down a little while she sang. Emotionally I mean, like the song hit home.

I must say, to anyone who says they prefer Adele’s version, this is one time when it’s very hard for me not to say “what the heck is WRONG with you?” And the thing is, yes,if you hear Adele or Bruno sing it first, you think this is very good singing, with very good voices, by both of them. But then Angelina comes along, and we are at a whole other level. Whatever happens with her albums, I can easily see her becoming the most sought-after singer for movie soundtracks of all time, with the level of emotion she can generate and transfer to the listener.
She really gets to us too! She’s a once in a lifetime talent, born for our listening pleasure. I’m selfishly hoping to hear her in person somewhere, some time.

This way is easier to really appreciate the differences between the two of them. And there are many.
First of all I must say Adele is a great singer and songwriter, no doubt about it.
The "problem" begins when Angelina sings her songs. Warm is a pretty good description of Angelina's voice. It envelops you like a blanket and cradles you in a wave of notes, each one with a character of its own. Her voice is rounder, has more depth and more texture than Adele's. Also, Angelina's phrasing, runs, breathy voice and vocal fry are unique to her and makes the song even more special!
I have to mention on a side note how classy and elegant Angelina looks here, as she usually does 😊 And that this is the same setting and pianist than the ones used to film "Million Miles" studio version. The difference is a drum set in the stage... was the studio version of "7th Heaven" recorded here? Will it be another cover? Intriguing and exciting thoughts!

Adele is one of my favorites. Her voice has such a signature sound and you know immediately who you're listening to but, when Angelina sings, it just fills your whole being clear to your soul. Maybe there are people who are not drinkers, and I don't drink alcohol really either but, I have before so one thing I can compare her voice to is Whiskey. It is smoky and smooth like when you take a sip of whiskey and swallow it and you can feel that warmth spread through you. That is her voice. She is far and away my favorite music artist. She only seems to get better and better every day and she's not even an adult yet.

I think I've heard it well over 50 times now, and when she hits that crescendo, it just murders me every time. For me, this is hands down the best performance for Angelina. Not sure why she omitted the last verse, but I'm confident she had a good reason. We can see by listening to Adele's version that Angelina changed some of the lyrics and modified some of the note progressions. I don't think there is anyone who could duplicate Angelina's version. Her rasp and focal fry, along with her breathy, whisper are just unique. And her dark, rich tone just melts your heart. This performance by Angelina is PERFECTION!! And as you say PO, it hits you right in the "Feels". Don't know if you heard it yet, but Phillip's (pa1189j) mashup of Angelina and Adele on this song is a MASTERPIECE!! So, was it worth the wait ? :):):) Incredible performance. It could be her finest performance to date. When you said you were nervous I got nervous with you even though I've seen this close to 300 times already (in about a week !) I've noticed something that ALL OF US, reactors and people in general, do when listening to this MASTERPIECE. The moment she starts to sing we raise our eyebrows and start to smile. Then, as the song continues we are silent and begin to nod our head back and forth quietly expressing our thought process, "Is this real? This is unbelievable. I am in absolute awe of Angelina! OMG!" Now that you've officially reacted to Angelina's performance perhaps you might want to check out some of the other reactors. It's really fun and you'll notice you put yourself into their position when she is about to sing. You know the song already but you (we) react along with the reactor. It's crazy. It's beautiful. It's everything! I'll end with this. In fairness to Adele a lot of us have never heard the original and we don't intend to. After hearing Angelina what positive could we get out of listening to Adele? Adele is recognized as one of the top singers in the world and I congratulate her for all of her music and the acclaim she gets from so many fans around the world. And then, there is Angelina............

David Touma Angelina will be a giant in the industry before she is 21. Norah Jones , my favorite jazz singer until Angelina came along became famous at age 22 with a album called "Come along with me" It sold 26 million copies and she won several Grammies. I still love her too but Angelina is unworldly, and unstoppable. She has that "IT" that no other young crew of singers have , plus her voice is to die for, Beauty, talent, elegance, empathy, and humility!

Nice! I think the difference is the *richness* of Angelina's voice, which can emote warmth, and pain, and joy, all by changing her emphasis. Angelina has more harmonics than Adele for sure. Probably due to that deep larynx :-)
