Which now that I think about it, I would just turn the game off and re-open it the following day, so maybe it has to register Clefairy, then jigglypuff, then Meowth, Chansey, then Eevee will show up. I don't believe that's the case, as I went to the mansion for the first time after watching this and the first one I got was jigglypuff, meaning it would have skipped clefairy for me.
The nursery man turns when he has an egg. Just doesnt reset to face forward unless u go to the route. So if u talk to him facing right u can never tell.

For example you can get Meowth, then Chansey, then Eevee, then Porygon, then so on. This can be useful to determine when a specific pokémon can show up in the Trophy Garden.
Any repel with a level 18 in front of your party makes it so you only run into a pikachu or current trophy pokemon. Also using any fainted overworld ability pokemon in front of your “repel pokemon” can stack for added effects. Compound eyes/super luck for moon stone farming on cleffa was very helpful. I’m sure someone has posted whether Mr. Backlot and swarm Pokémon are soft reset-able from your first save file load of the day, but going to test tomorrow. Enjoyed the guide. Great work on all the misc. guides for the game.
hey austin you can tell when the day care has an egg without using the poketch app- the husband turns to the right when an egg is ready, so just make sure you interact with him from a different angle so you can tell when he turns. this saved me a ton of time!
Note that you don't need to be right next to the Moss Rock or Icy Rock to evolve Eevee. As long as you are on the same route as either stone, Eevee will evolve into Leafeon/Glaceon. I didn't go that deep into Eterna for my Leafeon, just went in from Eterna City's entrance and ran around in the grass near there. Got Leafeon, no issues.
if youre looking for the special pokemon in the trophy garden, you can use a repel with a level 18 pokemon at the head of your party, it will force either the daily pokemon or a pikachu if i remember correctly
yea, that's what i've been doing, and I make sure I get the egg from him to make him face another direction... but what's the point of the app then? lol
ice stone isn't in BDSP since all the other pokemon that evolve with it are alola forms, so why bother implementing it? it may come in when home connectivity arrives though, considering it is likely you'll be able to transfer in vulpix and sandshrew with it
ya know... that didn't even occur to me. The Ice stone is programmed in the game, but is unobtainable, just like Beast balls. and Glaceon IS programmed to evolve with it. It's just really strange that they implemented this.

So the only thing I can think of is that the entirety of Glaceon's data (as well as other BDSP Pokémon) was copied over from Sword/Shield or earlier, to include the modernized learnset(s). Ex: Glaceon can learn Baby Doll Eyes at Level 15. However, it's a Fairy Type move, and it was a move introduced in Gen VI, long after the Original Diamond/Pearl/Platinum games.
I ran around with my Eevees for like three days trying to get its friendship up, I was finally able to get Espeon and Umbreon last night. I didn’t realize I could spam friendship points like this 😂 😂 oops
I also use the money farming and vitamins route, because the exp you get from battles is useful for leveling up pokemon that evolve solely through leveling
According to Johnstone's most recent video the garden Pokémon actually rotate in dex order, so Eevee will always be the Pokémon on your Xth day talking to that guy (where X is Eevee's place in that list). That's why you were only getting Meowth and Jigglypuff, they're the first two in order.

Kinda surprised that they didn’t include Sylveon, but then again it is a remake of the original Diamond/Pearl, so at most they would include the fairy-type Pokémon of earlier gens and the items (Got a pixie plate while mining for heart scales before my second badge).
Not going to lie I'm kind of bummed about that I was hoping to do an eeveelutions run once if/when it opened up to Pokemon home. It won't be the same without Sylveon.

For anyone looking to refresh the nursery app, talking to your walking pokemon also resets it. A bit faster than rezoning and also gets you some berries
I still find it stupid that they've implemented the Ice and Grass stones to do Glaceon and Leafeon but they've still not thought about the Moon and Sun Stones for Umbreon and Espeon and either the Shiny or Dawn stone (can't think of any other particular stone that could also work) for Sylveon.
I can't imagine they haven't thought about it, I think they just decided they didn't want to have to make a specific location in every game to be able to evolve Leafeon and Glaceon
@@rscjawesom The problem with this is, Both Johto and Kalos Eeveelutions takes potentially just as much time as the Sinnoh ones does. Sinnoh has the time consumption of first finding the stones to level up around whilst the other three needs time invested into them to raise friendship/affection stats.
That’s usually my go-to catcher mon. Unfortunately I’m still pretty early in the game so I can’t get gallade yet. I’ve been using Kricketune w/ false swipe & sing for most of my catching of some pokemon.
How does no-one mention that, as long as you don't talk to the guy again, Eevee (or whatever other said was there when you last talked to him) will stay there. Also the Pokémon from the day before is still there just rarer. For example I had eevee and while looking for it I found chansey.
Quicker tip instead of going through a door/zone to refresh the Nursery App. Just close out of the Poketch by holding R and open it back up. Works wonders :)
Isn't there something about pokemon hatched from eggs have higher base friendship? Or do I remember that wrong? Looked it up, pokemon hatched start with friendship of 120.

idk if anyone figure this out yet, but a quicker way of knowing the Daycare has an egg waiting for you is if the Pokemon Nursery Man is looking to the right or towards the Pokemon Center. So if I speak to him in any direction other than the right side, he will maintain that position until he has an egg. this will then automatically reset him to face the right. i noticed this while spinning in circles on my bike next to him lol.
I'm honestly surprised that Sylveon and the Alolan and Galarish forms of various Pokemon aren't in the game, and also to a lesser extent that not all the various Sinnoh evolutions are part of the base-game dex. The Let's Go games had Alolan forms of the originally Kanto Pokemon. Fairy type is still a type in BDSP and there are now various fairy-type Pokemon in Sinnoh; which now makes me feel bad for people with Garchomp and also Cynthia, there are more fairy-types than there are dragon-types. I also still don't like how the full Dex is called the National Dex, when technically it should be called the International Dex. National would imply that it's a dex for one country (or in this case, region), International would be a global dex; but that's more me nit-picking.
Well, my theory is that all the regions we've currently explored that being Kanto Johto Hoenn Sinnoh Unova Kalos Alola Galar Maybe, they all are in one continent and we have yet to explore the other parts of the Pokémon world. Who knows, maybe gen 9 will take place in a different continent maybe? But that's just my theory

Its prob already been stated, but you don’t need to rezone to be notified that there’s an egg. He faces south when there isn’t and he will turn and face “east” when the egg is ready. I can confirm that he will do it while in frame.
I believe it was in the original D/P... And the decision was made to not make these games with the same idea in mind as the OR/AS Gen 6 games to do a full change to them.
Leaf and ice stones definitely weren't options in the original, it was level up by the moss or icy rock only. I don't even think ice stone was a thing in the orginals
Now just so you know this method is not the only way I hatched mine gave it the sooth bell and leveled it to 20 and it evolved then with my other one it only took 10 levels to evolve and the method with glacieon and leafeon they both only need to be in their respective areas to evolve not near the rocks at all
1. I wish they bring back the extended national dex, due to Sylveon. 2. I can manage the Eevee evolution. Since they updated the Max friendship evolution.
Dunno if anyone's realized this before (I only realized after hearing eevee's cry in this video) if you have the ds sounds on you can hear eevee and pikachu's original cry when encountering or looking at them in the pokedex
Its cool that the Mossy Rock and Icy Rock are still options for evolution along with the stones. In the original DPP you had to use the rocks to evolve.

A Tip: The Wild Eevee in Trophy garden for a shiny its terminated to speak with mr. backlot for four days straight in order to get Eevee, and its extremely hard to get a shiny because Eevee alone (not shiny) is a 5% chance so good luck! It Will Always Choose Eevee on the fourth day (Not Affected If You Change The Time on You're Switch) If You Are Not Shiny Hunting a Eevee I Recommend Completing The Sinnoh Pokedex and obtaining the national Pokedex and speaking with Bebe at hearthome city and getting the gifted eevee and breeding it with a ditto at soleaceon town (Ditto can be found in the grand under ground in a dazzling gleam cave) Breed a total of Seven Eevees to get all the Eeveelutions! A Tip for getting eggs more commonly is to go to lake valor and defeat the swimmer in the pool on route 213 and you will get the oval charm (Oval charm will make the chances of getting eggs at soleaceon town more commonly)

That friendship raising chart @8:40 is incorrect. After level 200 Friendship, vitamins have no effect on raising friendship anymore. Not sure where he got this information from but it’s slightly different from the chart on Bulbapedia.

Man I was training my eevee at night for 3 nights in a row & I started leveling it up as I was going up the icy mountain & it randomly evolved into Glaceon without being next to that icy rock. I was super confused so I looked it up.

I love Eevee way too much that the need to have a National Dex to get one seriously hampered my desire to play the game. Glaceon (2nd favorite Eeveelution) & Leafeon are Gen 4 Pokémon, and I’m shocked that they decided not to include all the Sinnoh Pokémon from Platinum.
A far easier method to raising friendship, if dealing with a competitive EV, is to just use vitamins. Using the 52 vitamins will max out the friendship level immediately, then you can evolve them with a rare candy at their respective rocks instead of battling, or do the daytime nighttime thing, depending on your desired evolution.
Wanna hear some ish? I got a shiny and didn't know about the Eterna forest...... I wanted to hold her to get glacion .... Still my second favorite evolution ...

Im not sure but i think the ammount of friendship necessary to evolve pokemon was lowered in bdsp. My togepi evolved after 3 fights. I didnt have soothe bell yet and i caught it with friendball.
There is also the late late option of the special massage on the resort area, the ribbon syndicate second floor, they give a special massage that also boosts friendship
While riding your bike you can close and reopen your poketch with no disruption (Hold R) This lets you refresh the nursery app with skipping through other apps. Or manually checking the old man.
Just a pro tip for how to tell if the old man has and egg for you at the day care. Talk to him so he faces away from the road then when he has an egg he will turn to face the road.
Now I'm wondering if the "Base Happiness" section in the Pokedex on Serebii only applies for Sword and Shield. Because all Pokemon I tried looking at had a lower value than 70.

Just go slightly up the path into the next Route zone right above the daycare and it resets the daycare guy

They aren't having regional variants; no data was found for them and it wouldn't make sense anyway, being a 'faithful remake'

Technically,it makes sense why Sylveon is not included. This is a Gen 4 remake. Sylveon did'nt exist during Gen 4.

I'm using a Gallade with false swipe, mean look, and hypnosis to hunt Pokemon, was using an absol but made the switch and I enjoy it so far.

I still can’t believe eevee is a post game Pokémon despite how popular it is
I believe it was in the original D/P...
And the decision was made to not make these games with the same idea in mind as the OR/AS Gen 6 games to do a full change to them.
Leaf and ice stones definitely weren't options in the original, it was level up by the moss or icy rock only. I don't even think ice stone was a thing in the orginals

Now just so you know this method is not the only way I hatched mine gave it the sooth bell and leveled it to 20 and it evolved then with my other one it only took 10 levels to evolve and the method with glacieon and leafeon they both only need to be in their respective areas to evolve not near the rocks at all
1. I wish they bring back the extended national dex, due to Sylveon.
2. I can manage the Eevee evolution. Since they updated the Max friendship evolution.

Dunno if anyone's realized this before (I only realized after hearing eevee's cry in this video) if you have the ds sounds on you can hear eevee and pikachu's original cry when encountering or looking at them in the pokedex

when there is an egg in the day care the nursery man will turn to the right without going inside a building
Its cool that the Mossy Rock and Icy Rock are still options for evolution along with the stones. In the original DPP you had to use the rocks to evolve.

A Tip: The Wild Eevee in Trophy garden for a shiny its terminated to speak with mr. backlot for four days
straight in order to get Eevee, and its extremely hard to get a shiny because Eevee alone (not shiny) is a 5%
chance so good luck! It Will Always Choose Eevee on the fourth day (Not Affected If You Change The Time on You're Switch) If You Are Not Shiny Hunting a Eevee I Recommend Completing The Sinnoh Pokedex and obtaining the national Pokedex and speaking with Bebe at hearthome city and getting the gifted eevee and breeding it with a ditto at soleaceon town (Ditto can be found in the grand under ground in a dazzling gleam cave) Breed a total of Seven Eevees to get all the Eeveelutions! A Tip for getting eggs more commonly is to go to lake valor and defeat the swimmer in the pool on route 213 and you will get the oval charm (Oval charm will make the chances of getting eggs at soleaceon town more commonly)

That friendship raising chart @8:40 is incorrect. After level 200 Friendship, vitamins have no effect on raising friendship anymore. Not sure where he got this information from but it’s slightly different from the chart on Bulbapedia.
When your shiny video released, I shiny hunted as many eevee’s as possible. now that this video released. I will have the entire shiny evolution for eevee. Appreciate all the videos!

Man I was training my eevee at night for 3 nights in a row & I started leveling it up as I was going up the icy mountain & it randomly evolved into Glaceon without being next to that icy rock. I was super confused so I looked it up.

I love Eevee way too much that the need to have a National Dex to get one seriously hampered my desire to play the game.
Glaceon (2nd favorite Eeveelution) & Leafeon are Gen 4 Pokémon, and I’m shocked that they decided not to include all the Sinnoh Pokémon from Platinum.

You can't buy Ethers. Only find them via Pickup ability or on the ground.

A far easier method to raising friendship, if dealing with a competitive EV, is to just use vitamins. Using the 52 vitamins will max out the friendship level immediately, then you can evolve them with a rare candy at their respective rocks instead of battling, or do the daytime nighttime thing, depending on your desired evolution.
I received the Eevee from Bebe, and just bred it constantly. Have all stone evolutions just need to get all friendship up. Thanks for the guide.

Im not sure but i think the ammount of friendship necessary to evolve pokemon was lowered in bdsp. My togepi evolved after 3 fights. I didnt have soothe bell yet and i caught it with friendball.
they could’ve added sylveon, it’s the only one missing 😭 it’s a evolution after all

While riding your bike you can close and reopen your poketch with no disruption (Hold R) This lets you refresh the nursery app with skipping through other apps. Or manually checking the old man.

Just a pro tip for how to tell if the old man has and egg for you at the day care. Talk to him so he faces away from the road then when he has an egg he will turn to face the road.
Well for Glaceon I wasn’t anywhere near that rock and after a battle it evolved into Glaceon. So just stand in the snow. It was odd.

Can I breed Eevee with Ditto just to save less trouble scouring in the trophy garden...
Now I'm wondering if the "Base Happiness" section in the Pokedex on Serebii only applies for Sword and Shield. Because all Pokemon I tried looking at had a lower value than 70.
I got the National Dex right before I went for the Elite Four. I got the PokeRadar and everything relatively early.
