Lok Sabha MP from Diphu, Amarsing Tisso Urges For Implementation of article 244(A) of the Indian Constitution
Lok Sabha MP from Diphu, Amarsing Tisso today highlighted crucial issues affecting his constituency and emphasized the need for implementing Article 244(A) of the Indian Constitution, a long-standing demand of Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao districts.
Implementation of the Article will be vital for the autonomous development of the regions. Tisso also urged for the passage of the 125th Constitutional Amendment Bill, 2019, which will enable the implementation of clauses under two significant peace agreements. The agreements were signed in 2011 and 2021 between the union government and the United People's Democratic Solidarity in 2011, and five rebel groups in 2021. The passage of the bill is deemed crucial for maintaining peace and stability in the region.
