One of my rolling partners learned this and got me at least 3 times with it. So here I am.
you should probably look up how to defend it
This is like the calculus of Jiu Jitsu.
Had no idea you trained bjj! I’ve been watching your tutorials on guitar for years!
Man this is crazy detailed. Wonder how long it took Rafa to learn this technique to this degree.
A long time for sure because this here (2012) was a good deal more advanced than how he was doing it at ADCC 2009 when he was using it in every match that weekend. And he's still refining it. If you watch Rafa teach this a couple months ago (summer 2016), there are several improved details than what's here on this 2012 video. So he's just getting sharper and sharper with it.
He is a very good teacher as well, thanks for this! :)
So beautiful. THanks for so many details.
absolutely beautiful technique...thank you
Ahhh need more videos like this. x) thx for the upload
great detail. The pulling your own arm detail was missing for me. Super awesome! Thank you!
Scary isn't Mendes' technique. Scary is that little kid in the background absorbing this shit day in and day out. That's friggin' scary.
Real shit. That kids so lucky
The kid looks like Tainan Dalpra.
Class all the way
Nice detail at 5:30 about switching to the bicep grip
Even when showing techniques Rafa is laser sharp.
great detail
Nice tips. Thanks.
wow that is one clean mat... looks like a doctors surgeory
excelente....
Rafa is so fucking incredible!
I am in love.
cara vcs são os melhores pena q o video não tem um legenda
Is that Coach Kian Rafa is demonstrating on? I was his assistant coach in 2015. The guy is a wizard and even if I were a black belt I still would be no where near his level. Didn't know they trained together. This explains alot :D
Kian is in a ton of old rolls with Rafa and Gui on their old training website. He’s definitely got some awesome Jiujitsu.
Yup that’s coach Kian!
Love it!
The shit that these kids are learning these days.. At that age I couldn't even spell ANACONDA
Please post more NO-GI videos...OSSSS :)
Very nice detail
awesome vid! hey there's my drilling partner on Monday! lol
Very good
explicação boa da porra , valew leks oss
that's some sweet RVCA gear
What is the opponent's left hand usually doing to defend during this?
3:41 Is that kid in the background Tainan Dalpra?
reverse-d'arce choke
other angle pls
oii
he tried to choke Leo Vieira at ADCC 2009 but didnt go through, he got him in RNC at the end though.
Hips up , don't shoot!
who the fuck do you think you're offering advice to?
30 frexxcuuu deram deslike
oke?
oke
I would never "free the leg". If they "catch" the leg (trap themselves) just do the Japanese necktie and thats night night. This is a anaconda video yes but it's basicaly like saying "after you get the Japanese necktie , abandon it for anaconda".
Rafa Mendes does not like the Japanese necktie. He likes the anaconda, darce, and to a lesser extent the guillotine. His preferences are adcc proven. I’d rather learn his Jiu-Jitsu from him than a Japanese necktie I can learn from someone else.
tu é meio 18 amigo, não intendi bosta nenhuma do que tu digitou?!
Those kids havent got a clue what you are talking about. Too many details.
You'd think so, right? But Rafa posted a roll from this exact class and those kids torch each other with this technique in the background. The Ruotolo twins were off camera but in class here too. This was in the first month of AOJ. And a funny thing is Rafa taught more than this that Saturday...he covered a fairy detailed darce entry from the same position (ruclips.net/video/ktg5a4F3V78/видео.html). The kids may look bored here but they loved it. And what he showed stuck because the Ruotolo twins are both beasts at head and arm chokes.
