I was wondering the same thing. I just finished a job and used cricket transfer tape and it is GARBAGE!!! after years working in a sign shop when I was younger I can not for the life of me figure out why they would make the tape so strong. A job that I was expecting to take me 20 minutes took over an hour and a half because the tack of the transfer tape was seemingly as strong as the darn vinyl!

My problem dong this is for some reason my tape wants to tack off to one side or the other, I have a hard time going straight. Any ideas? Thanks.

I learned this years ago and I had this same problem....Getting the graphics straight...usually just make sure you get a little bit larger roll of tape because you are essentially guessing if it will roll over all your graphics. This method is still great if you don’t have a table with a ROLL HOLDER... but a transfer tape ROLL HOLDER is the BEST way because it solves that ‘laying the tape straight’ problem....also, you can “wrap” around the masking tape around the empty tube and push with the Transfer tape roll.....i find this better than technique used in this video.....but still probably the easiest way honestly to mask graphics is just to buy a 5 roll tape holder that attaches to the end of a table.... you can get these 5 roll holders at SPEED PRESS.com. I think this is the fastest way. And you know that your tape is going over your graphic....... that way you can see the tape goes straight over the area you need before you put it down on the graphic....

The steam rolling pushing one. Push it from the middle of roll not one side or other

What is your favorite transfer tape?

I am TOTALLY confused. If you are using this as a stencil (which needs to be uncovered for the ink/paint/etc. to get through to the sign); then why would you cover up the "stencil" with clear tape?
I believe I am missing something. Sorry for my ignorance. Are you then going to paint thru onto the transfer tape so that you can remove it and transfer it to the actual signage material (wood, core board, etc.)? If this is the case, then you are missing the next step, or there is a Part II which I haven't found.
However, thumbs up for method to put down transfer tape.

She said it's a reverse stencil. So after she uses the transfer tape to tranfer the image she will pull the tape off, paint, then take of the stencil. Hope this helps.

Don't you hate when these video people don't finish the process, AND THEN don't answer questions when asked 👎
