Should I still do basketball workouts rn or just play pickup and transfer all the skills I devolved in the offseason or just do light workouts and pickup
I think it’s more lucrative to do a separate conditioning workout so you don’t get tired, and then do a skills workout. Always been wary of mixing the two
This wouldn’t be my only conditioning I do, pickup would be the main source. And it’s not the only shooting workout I would do. However, it’s beneficial to get comfortable making shots when you’re legs are tired as that’s what will happen if you play a lot of minutes in games. That’s what this workout targets. The vast majority of shooting workouts don’t have much in the way of conditioning at all, so it doesn’t hit that. It also depends on the type of skills workout. If you were trying to learn a new skill or hit a weakness or correct form, it’s probably best to do that without the conditioning element. But when the goal is just to make the workout harder, there’s a purpose for the conditioning element as well.
