  • In this video I show how I get my harsh Aggrotech vocals. I use Reaper as my DAW and only use FREE plugins for this tutorial.
If you have any suggestions for future tutorial videos then leave a comment. Dont forget to subscribe. The Industrial scene is TINY and smaller artists like myself rely on your support.

With fry screaming I've found that practicing an exasperated sigh and then practice like you are blowing air on a cold window (as we all did as children). Should feel a rattle in your throat. It's like the Marge Simpson grunt lol. You combine the two until you get a "aaaaggh" 😂. This tutorial is awesome with showing how to use effects and such. Greatly appreciated as finding Aggrotech tutorials can be difficult.

My neighbors have extremey good ears too.
My idea was to use the text to spech tool (like google translate)in fl studio. set the voice on whispering and do the effects on it
    That edit it in newtone.

This sounds really good. The only issue I have with making vocals like this is when they clash against the rest of the song (hard beats, high hats, pads) and get drowned out. Either you can't understand your own lyrics or your forced to turn the vocal track up so loud it's deafening and overpowers the rest of the song. It's hard to have good sounding industrial vocals that are also clear enough to decipher.

I've been looking for a video like this for a long time, thanks for making this. It gave me a good starting point for creating vocals for the harsh-drone/power-electronic stuff that I do.

Thank you. It is remarkable the utter lack of any explanation on this online. Cheers!

hey, which studio recording microphones would you suggest for both singing and harsh aggrotech / metal vocals (screams, growls, pigsqueals, etc)?
i'm aiming for a dynamic mic, because sometimes i hear noises from neighbors. my choice right now would be the shure sm7b.

demonic rap eh? do you have any examples of groups that use it?

FXR AWXY You mean horrorcore? Because "demonic rap" can describe bands like Krucifix Klan, Lil Terror, $uicideboy$, Ghostemane, Jonestown, OD Kokemus, Twisted Insane and Bones, and those are just a few that could be described as "demonic rap" but there isn't that much into the vocal sound editing as radical is in Aggrotech for example.

So... I use Ableton and you saying you’re only using free plug-ins in this tutorial is really not true. Your pitch shifter / Re-pitch is reaper only, and some other ones are DAW specific too. I like your video and got a few ideas, but I wish you would have used free plug-ins that would work on any DAW.
