This music is Amazing!! Eddie Adcock was our neighbor on 3rd Street in Weyanoke, VA back in the late 1950s .....used to "Drag Race" @ Aquasaco, Speedway in Maryland, early 60s.....could hear him playin' all over the neighborhood.
Missy Raines on bull bass fiddle really holding her own. Eddie Adcock perhaps one of the most under rated bluegrass musicians ever. Great on banjo, guitar .
Heard that ACL no longer exits? Shameful if thats true. One of the most iconic venues on this planet. Think of all the great bands that played there. Just plain solid country music. Something not seen any longer.
Kenny Baker bows like Menuhin. He is not a Rural autodidact; his pinky is on the stick allowing after practising tip raises and drops for perfect stick control and on a Tourte bow or copy at least ( It looks fine enough to be real!), the best balanced pernambuco sticks available; his stick NEVER loses a perfect 90 degree angle from the strings and is precisely half way between the bridge and the finger board and he never runs out of bow so has to cover poor articulation with “conveniently” modified phrasing. His bow is never over or under tightened. Bill Monroe never missed an outstanding player did he… Along with Eddie Ad Hoc🙂 Master Mac and dear Old Buck “ We are not worthy, we are not worthy”. No flashy and uncalled for egotistical showmanship just perfect ensemble interplay thanks to superlative aural awareness good taste and skill. You’ve got some Gems J. Thanks for sharing
The lady playing rhythm guitar is Martha Adcock, Eddie's wife. She has a really pretty voice. If you have a chance to see Eddie & Martha at one of their shows they are phenomenal!

Ed my uncle. My mom's lil brother we've always been so proud of him and Martha
My dad was friends with Bill Adcock. Bill couldn't remember my name so he call me Sport.
Jesse Mcreynolds is just OWNING on this show! His style is almost Classical in its approach and sound. Truly, a genius
Yep, he was on fire. Jesse is best known for his crosspicking, but he was an incredible player, crosspicking or not.
I believe the top bluegrass musicians are the best and most talented musicians in the world
There's something magical about the bluegrass they played back then. ❤️🎶
I've listened to these guys in various bands all of my adult life - never heard them or anything any better. Just amazing!
This segment was from Austin City Limits Season 16, Episode 9: Merle Haggard/Masters of Bluegrass (1991).🙂
What I would give to be able to turn back time.
Yes Sir
Terrific.
Great music
Master's really fitting title. These guys are great!
awesome. Thanks Jason.
I could not have done it better myself...
Awesome!!
Great video Jason. Thank you for posting. ;-)
Back when ACL was worth watching.

Not true. Show still runs...2023
The bass player deserves a raise..
Kenny Baker has one of the all-time great quotes when he described bluegrass as hillbillies playing improvised jazz. This is one heck of a band.
Just a good blue grass

They are not called "the masters for nothing,,,Par.excellence.
Bluegrass royalty here
Any idea what the second tune is? Kenny Baker just blows it out of the park.
It's called "Dance With Me Kenny" AKA "Little Burma Through The Bayou". I recently did a dobro video on it. ruclips.net/video/v8Qxjy-c4Sc/видео.html
who's the bass player?
The musician credits are at the very end of the video. Missy Raines on bass.
Who is the man playing rhythm guitar? who is the drummer?
The guy in the back playing guitar is Billy Troy Graves, Josh Graves' son. Not sure about the drummer.
there ya go! =)
Thanks Jason. The drummer may be Josh's son also. That is a guess.
The drummer's name is Jeff Teague. The band members names are at the end of the video.
