The original is always awesome... but this dude KILLED the cover. 💯😎 He's a Carolina guy, so it makes all kinds of sense. I'm a punk rock dude with green hair, from Virginia, and I can sing along to this song all day. 🤣 Its just a Carolina/VA thing... 💯 We ALL know it and can jam to it. 😎
Wagon Wheel" is a song co-written by Bob Dylan and Ketch Secor of Old Crow Medicine Show. Dylan recorded the unreleased chorus and melody in 1973; Secor added verses 25 years later; the OCMS version was wildly popular in the bluegrass genre. Darris Rucker did a fine cover but hardly made it his own. It's just a good cover by a great artist. OTOH, while a favorite of mine, bluegrass, with its reliance on acoustic string instruments (traditionally guitar and/or resonator guitar, banjo and violin/fiddle), is not everyone's cup of tea and that's alright too..😊
Good for you for being honest and not saying you like just to pander to your audience. It's perfectly normal that not everyone is going to like the same things. I personally love the song. A lot of people in Tennessee hate Darius version and only like the original version by Old Crow Medicine Show. I did not know myself until today that this song was co-written by none other than Bob Dylan.
It’s fine you don’t like the song. I respect people who politely say so. I was selling compact discs when this came out and have always liked Darius’ music. Something I like to say about performers like him is: If I am ever that good at *anything* I hope I enjoy it as much as he/she does.
Real quick. I had to pause so I could ask if you knew that Chris Stapleton got one of his Grammy's off of a number 1, song that he wrote for Darius Rucker.
The live version is a lot better! There is so much more energy to this song live. By the way, you still haven't done Freebird, studio version. It's a must! ✌️ ❤
This is one ☝️ f my favorite songs for a few years now. I love everything about it. I love Darius, I like Duck Dynasty and just love the vibe and potential our country is at times but could be for all. Sorry you didn’t like it.
Funny, as a kid country was distinctly not cool and it took me a long time to toss that aside mostly on the back of cross-over bands that did exactly this - great beat, makes you want to move, no matter what you call it. Still though not so much for the “the dog died and she left me for my brother” stuff. Each to their own - good in you for doing it. 👍🏻
He has always been a good singer
I love this song! Love Darius Rucker. Thanks for reacting to this.
This is a cover, which I believe was co-written by Bob Dylan. But Darius made it his own.
Old Crow Medicine Show wrote it, I believe.

I love Rucker’s version best. He definitely made this song his own.
The bearded guys are the Robertsons from Duck Dynasty.
Great artist! This is a fav with a good vibe. Enjoy!
oh Darius Rucker.. we love you..
I gotta admit I was more of a Hootie fan once, but I do enjoy the crossover.
Darius Ruckers country album True Believers is amazing! I need to listen to more of his country albums.
Same here. Love Hootie❤❤
Darius rocks this song... great vibe... the two bearded guys are from the "Duck Dynasty" show.
That’s the Duck Dynasty cast in this video.

the end part is in Nashville, where Darius lives. the bar is, The Station Inn
In the early '70s I did this, hitch hiking the northwest US for a couple years. Definitely evokes some memories.

Darius won a Grammy for this song.

You might like Dwight Yoakam's "I Sang Dixie", if you like um slow and sad.
❤❤❤❤❤

If you’re interested in his other catalog from the 90s, check out Tuckers Town. 🍀
I'm sure you already know this, but , new Live at Daryls House dropped. ✌️❤️

The man from Charleston
❤ Love Darius's angelic vocals❤ Good song choice.❤ But will always think of him as Hootie😂😂❤
Try...If I Told You...one of his best! Enjoyed it...thx!
This a great version but it's a cover of Old Crow Medicine version to be fair that is the one to cover
Darius’ hits/music if far more superior….Should take a journey.

I like Hootie better too, but what I’d really like to hear is a new BZMTK rap album
He has a beautiful slow country song, not so country
