Garbage Truck Compilation • GFL Environmental of Houston, Texas!

- Here’s my grand showcase of GFL’s solid waste operations around the Houston area! There’s been little to no coverage of GFL in Texas over the years, so I figured it was finally time to explore and document their crews hustling around these lime green machines. Overtime, they’ve acquired multiple smaller companies, with the significantly largest one being WCA back in 2020. Each adventure to a different community really showed how diverse GFL’s fleet currently is, including lots of units I didn’t even know they had. There’s quite a bit that’s not included in this video I have yet to find, so look forward to that in the future. I don’t do compilations much because this took almost a year to make, but I’m very interested in hearing which truck(s) y’all found most enjoyable. Without further ado, hope you enjoy!
Thanks to every single refuse truck driver/equipment operator for interacting and allowing me to record them at work!

Man I used to work for WCA right til they got bought out by GFL, I definitely miss wca even though they’re one of the shittiest companies lol
Wow really! What did you do at WCA?
@@RefuseDFW02 I was a helper. I started soon as I turned 18, they were already trying to recruit me ahead of time while I was 16-17. I live in central florida so my wca yard I’ve known them since I was about 12-13 im 21 now so a lot of the guys seen me grow up lol. But once I got there it was decent at first. But our equipment was shitty. All the trucks in our yard are from 2014, nothing gets fixed at all. All of our trucks literally would get you through half a route only. It was like slavery. We’d start at 5 am sometimes and not finish til literally sometimes 9 pm. The county got so tired of us they gave up the contract and now FCC took over 😂
@@kertifiedsmaxka9213 yikes, I wasn’t too familiar with their work environment when they were still around, but I heard quite a few bad things about them. At least that here some crews were super sloppy. What site in Florida was that? I love older trucks (seeing > working on them) but if no one’s around to maintain them it’s a headache…
@@RefuseDFW02 it was in Tavares FL, there were only I believe one or two other yards in the area, one in Orlando but that’s mainly commercial for some reason. All their trucks are rolloffs and front loaders, and then another one in Orange city florida, we used to trade trucks with them a lot, we’d get a lot of their used stuff or let them borrow our barely working equipment💀
My husband is a district manager in Washington State for a garbage company and my three year old son is obsessed with garbage trucks! He has watched this particular video so many times he has the whole thing memorized! He really loves watching this. Thanks for making!
You’re more than welcome! Your son memorizing the whole video makes me feel very much appreciated haha
Also this video has been the only thing that he'll want to watch when he's feeling overwhelmed and having a tantrum. So it's very much appreciated!
❤😂
1. Granite McNeilus Rear Loader
2. Mack LR McNeilus ZR
3. Pete Conventional Heil 5000
Those are my top 3! Man this is one compilation!
Thanks man! Yeah I’d say that’s gotta be my number 1 pick too!
@@RefuseDFW02Mack lrs never roll coal
Really enjoyed this video! Almost every truck was cool, especially the Curottos and the new grill 520 CNrG Python! Those fast rear loader crews were also fun to watch.
Thanks bro! Glad you enjoyed!
@@RefuseDFW02 No problem. Chris has a video of one of the Curottos too.
finally got around to finishing this video lol. wouldnt be right for me to not leave a comment after a great video like that, being the WCA lover i was lol. but i do have to say GFL has better everything. from color to service and especially trucks. cart colors are amazing. really enjoyed this and cant wait for the full vids of each truck. nice to see the old trucks and new!
Thank you! I know you were one of the first people that really wanted to see GFL in another state besides Florida. They ordered a handful of new trucks, and already rolled out new carts to replace the old ones in some contracted areas.
the first truck ex royal is amazing
Excellent video bro and nice variety of trucks.
Thanks
@@RefuseDFW02 no problem.
My favorite is Mack lr Zr and the peterbilt 520 cng python great video
Thank you
Nice video like the old Pete 320s and the 520 python but love the curottos
Thank you Chris Chros
Great video I enjoyed all these trucks especially the leased ZR CWD is leasing a LR ZR
Thank you, and yes I saw!
Your lucky GFL is really good down in Houston. Up here in Raleigh NC, GFL Bought out Waste Industries, replacing professional and loving service to absolute SHIT, Im talking about mistreatment of cans (so you buy one of the new shitty ones that isn't even flexible), drivers using manual side loader trucks to break cans, knocking down other cans without getting out to pick it up, leaving trash on the road etc. Lucky you got good GFL teams and crew. This video is a masterpiece.
Thank you! Yeah you aren’t the first I’ve heard that GFL in other states is terrible. Especially at the management level
they actually bought wca waste back in 2020, it was waste industries they got in 2018 I think, cool compilation of lime green trucks
Thanks! Thought it was earlier but you’re right, 2020
Is that neon corotto driver driving from the other side? How could he see from that angle😱
I used to love working on the garbage truck getting paid while having a workout 👍💯
I worked for GFL in Detroit last year
That was spectacular
Glad you didn’t get too excited
4:18 exact truck i took a pic of
I be thinking, people who like to watch the garbage man pick up trash, are the most cleanest people on earth.
I remember when I stayed in a house my cans were heavy before the automatic dumper trucks came out, i would like apologize for that.❤
i dont understand why the rear loader guys dont use the tipper on those over-filled carts.... Otherwise, all of these trucks and carts are rare and great!!!
Great video! What are the normal trash pickup days in Houston?
Thanks, pickup days range anywhere from Monday-Saturday.
Hey bro you were recording me on Thursday i work for republic services , wanted to know when you would upload the video ? Lol appreciate you
Sup man! I probably won’t make it public vid for a minute, but I can send you the link
Why not bro ? And yes please send me if don’t mind .

The 19/64 drill bit really chews up the panel. Im.going to start with a smaller bit and work.my way up..if I start with the 19/64 it floats around and make a mushrooms the metal around the whole and I've had to file them down so the push pins will seat correctly

I am driving Pageter truck in a private company in Bangladesh, I am very interested to work in your company
Most of these trucks has a quiet, economical engine.
I like the cruotto can front loader
whens the full video of the python coming out?
Probably next year
What type of carts are those at 5:48?
Rehrig EV
I think they’re actually called Rehrig NXGEN, I believe they were discontinued
really needed 4 guys on the 1 truck?
Apparently no one else needed extra help that day
I agree with him
I am very interested to work here I hope you will give me a job there
