Which would be a better overall game if you were to compare Mr Jack in New York vs Mr Jack 10th Anniversary Edition + it's Expansion Pack (2018 version)?

I still like NY better. Being able to create the board as you play facilitates the most depth. They are printing a new version now with the revised edition abd should be out real soon.

I will be picking this up. Is there a release date?

I am not sure on a date, but usually they come out a few weeks after I get a copy to review.

Which of this (Mr Jack 10th Anniversary) or Le fantome de l'opera would you recommend for someone who never play either of them?

That's a tough one. If you want higher stakes and more depth of bluffing then this one. If you want a slightly simpler one that you can balance for different experience levels then Fantome

Since both have different characters/board layout adding both to your collection is a good solution. :)

My wife and bookshelf lack of space would disagree with you :)

I really want to know what move you showed that couple. My wife plays the inspector and wipes the board with me.

Well maybe with the new board she wouldn't! I had Jack use Goodly to move the real Jack onto a manhole in the dark and to move the only character left in that odd round just out of reach of the real Jack. Then first move next round Jack escaped using manhole.
