I've watched mine catch a squirrel and a bluejay that was harassing her right out of the air. I've received letters asking to fight her, but never have. I was told that she can kill anything one and a half times her weight. They are great
But dad, how are you able to resist hat little bitty squeal and then that tail going crazy?! I think there might be a little squirrel hiding behind that tree…🌸🐶🐶🌸💕
This is hilarious! I just rescued a very tiny puppy from the side of the road. Turns out she's a Cairn. Trying to get myself up to speed on the breed. Seems it's going to be a long, fun ride. At barely 2 months she's already a character. Your kids are adorable!
Such bonnie wee dogs; yours are adorable and so typical. My wee Cairn, Midge, is a constant source of entertainment as she’s cheeky, funny, and altogether a bossy little rascal. You are absolute right about the training........a firm but kind hand will yield results! Thanks for this great video!
I'd just slap my hands together (that breaks the thought) and immediately calling them by name, I'd say, "let's go!" And they would follow. Your dogs are so cute! I really like those looks!
And for 'yappers,' yours or mine, to 'first acknowledge what they are showing you,' "good thing, now let's go," usually settles that! I am amazed at how much a dog can really understand! More often it's not a lack of understanding on the dogs part, it's "I don't want to." :-) And yes, I find that funny. I'd say that a dog rapidly comes to the age of about a 3 or 4 year old toddler. After that, they just get better skilled in doing what they were built to do. ... If a child never came to a self consciousness (me in the mirror!) by the time they reached 7/8 years of age, we would never be able to catch them! :-)
As for your puppies, I'd sure like to have a pair of them. They are so awesome! I lost my "little man" about a month ago. He was 12 1/2 years old. Had him since he was 8 weeks old. He was 1/2 Shih tzu and 1/2 Yorkie and I think he got the better traits of both. Yours look just like him (Charlie topped out at 15 pounds) but mine had hair, not fur, and was a bit more delicate than yours. The best best to you and yours.
They are so vocal it's a pure joy to have one. I've had two and will never have a different breed now. Completely different to other breeds and the ultimate terrier
My wife and I have been laughing at this one all weekend. It actually might have been the deciding factor in us choosing to go with this breed for ourselves.
I'm excited for you! Be patient--Cairns can be stubborn but they are smart little cookies so just lay out the law from day one and they'll eventually come around. Fair warning they like to be in control--takes a strong persistent human to train one right. Have fun, I envy you--Cairn pups are a hoot!
My older Westie, aged 3, was out in the back yard her first winter when a squirrel fell out of the tree at her feet on an icy morning. She often sits out there waiting for a repeat. The Westies have no love for squirrels and will kill any that they catch.
It appears that fortunately your yard is not bordered by hedges or rose thorn bushes. My cairn would go bounding after squirrels and rabbits into said thorn bushes and there would be a nasty burr removal session afterwards. This would require use of a sock around the beak to stop snapping as burrs were removed. Your girls are just adorable and giving you the pouting look - hilarious!
Our cairn once chased a cat out from under our scooter (it had a cover on it)... Now every time we go outside she has to check for cats. I even take the cover off to show her nothing's there but she is convinced the cats are hiding somewhere unseen. But it gets better: when we go out on walks and we come across other scooters or motorcycles with covers on them, guess what happens...
Ah, so nice to see someone else have to suffer the cute hell that is a spoiled cairn. Some days I wish I hadn't babied, even though she was so tiny and abandoned when I got her. Others, it's too damn cute.
I usually throw a stone or stick for my Cairn. So on the on very rare occasion there aren't a handful of squirrels to chase he wont know the difference.
I have one exactly the same color and temperament. She is my best friend and I can't imagine living without her.

Hilarious!! Thank you for sharing their adventure with the squirrel. Obviously life changing for these sweeties 😂

You're gonna love her more than you will ever imagine.
@@johnfarren6038 She's a real character now that she's recovered from her very rough start. She spends most of her days hunting for squirrels too.

they have you wrapped around their paws and I can see why. They are adorable.
So adorable! What a great furr daddy you are! Look at those pleading little eyes!
Oh yes 🐾❤️😁 my cairn girl does that too ….. 😂
Bossy little things :-) my two also have a rodent obsession like yours! Cairns are so cute. Thanks for posting.
Bossy is a great description of these little hard heads. Cairns--gotta love 'em!
they certainly do! Cairns are wonderful dogs a source of constant joy.
I have one, wish I had 2 or 3. I love them!!!

OMG so cute!!! They are smart little cookies :D Cairns are the best

You won't be disappointed--these Cairns are a kick!
I hope so! We get to meet ours tomorrow. 1 week old.

@@cehsr8 you are absolutely spot on. They think they rule the world
@Clair Candy, don't they?
They hunt too. My husband freaked when one night ours brought a rabbit to the door. They are not to be underestimated.
Cairns: "We need rodents!".
thank you! Great looking dogs.

As a Cairn owner, all Cairns should be spoiled...
aww! Cairns are too funny and cute! love them so much!!! :D
This is real cute. My Mum has two cairn terriers and they behave just like this. They go nuts at the squirrels. They behave exactly like your two!

Hannah Fisher Oh how I know about that Cairn focus! Hannah they never seem to forget a thing.
I miss my Shaggy. Cairns are personality plus!
Our cairns have snagged a couple of rats and mice, a rabbit, and a squirrel!
these two look exactly like mine, and mine shakes and moans exactly the same way lol. I will always own cairns
Hehe she's looking at you like, "why are you breaking my heart?" Lol they mind like my Tula too.
Joe the larger of the two is now 13 and little Bonnie is 7--our Cairns have tended to age pretty well--our first one was 17 when she passed.
My cairn spent the entire day stairing at the squirel in our tree xD
facepalm, I am in deep trouble then. We have a cairn also.

This makes you wonder why anyone would want a Pitbull Terrier. Cairns beat them as pets hands down.
so beautiful but please protect the squirrels as well. GOOD KARMA
+Sun Sand Not to worry, in twenty years the Cairns have scored zero hits on squirrels in this tree.
One is giving you the death stare😂
I usually throw a stone or stick for my Cairn. So on the on very rare occasion there aren't a handful of squirrels to chase he wont know the difference.
Beautiful " Blondes"
Cairn terriers are cute i have one and hes name is Stag
what do you mean not up there.. I member for a fact. we chased it.. hahah
Too funny!!!
Have they caught any squirrels or other vermin yet?
They are Awesome❤️
Stupid lovely cairns,🐾
Westies are white Cairns--I love 'em.
Not to my knowledge--I have seen some close escapes but the dogs seem to hesitate at the last moment.
lmao
haha hilarious
Leave the wildlife in peace
I have one name yaya
