    for q35 why is prob for the same colour p/p + q and not just p on its own as stated in the q

      Lol because I've completely fluked that question. I read it on auto pilot as there are p reds and q greens, not that those were the probabilities. Thanks for pointing that out.
      What is interesting though, is that it is not actually a fluke in the proper sense. You can actually always do that method. p and q are the probabilities, so p+q=1. But by my method p/(p+q) and q/(p+q) are the probabilities, but when you add these up you still get one and so it is still fine. Then the final answer needed some dividing of both probabilities so both my unnecessary denominators cancel and you end up with the same answer

      @@rtwodrew2 would it still work if you just did p^2 + q^2 - 2pq = 1/4

      @@oyinkanoladugba6603Yes, factorise and then square root to get p-q=-1/2 just like I did and then you also have p+q=1 as there the only probabilities. This simultaneous equation solves for p=1/4 and q=3/4 then just sub in the numbers

    TMUA has now asked a probability question in a real paper! This video was so clutch!! Thank you

    Is the range for the upper combination not 21-6=15? In that case the lower combination will give the smallest range 1:59

      @jamiehenshaw8419 Месяц назад

      I was thinking this, could also make the argument that minimum value of the upper value in the second row is 19 (8,9,19) and using largest value of 7, (7,8,15) and then subtracting the minimum big value with the maximum small value (19 and 7) you come out with 12. gives you smallest possible range but I cant seem to figure out why its 14.
