That is actually quite impressive. Really rare to hear someone, that hasn't learned Swedish by 13-14 or so, speak it with such a good accent. Even more rare probably for someone having English as a native language. I guess he is rather gifted.
WOW! That Swedish accent is spot on. If I had just heard him speak Swedish I probably would have been fooled into thinking he was Swedish. And that is very unusual for someone with English as their first language even after living in Sweden for several decades!
@@danielengstom1127 My English teacher lived in England for quite a long time before moving back to Sweden. That's why my English "break" in the Queens English. Other than that I speak Skaraborgska.
Wow... Im really impressed. He sound like a native swede with a clear Stockholm accent, and according to Wikipedia, he only lived in Sweden for 5 years.
Wow man, he doesnt even sound foreign. Sounds exactly like any other Swede. I would never have guessed that but his Swedish is spot on perfect and without any revealing accent at all......
That is insanely good swedish! He's got barely any accent. That's the best swedish I've ever heard from an English speaker. He sounds like a native speaker. The parts that are off could be attributed to a dialect. If I didn't know that he's not a native speaker, I would never have guessed based on what was said in this interview at least. He had nothing to be embarrassed about.
Two years later, and I still come back to this video every once and a while to remind myself of how fkn good his Swedish is. He speaks better Swedish then most Swedes😂 This is very random, but I feel like I’ve heard his voice in some late 90s early 2000s Disney movies dubbed to Swedish. I’m honestly so caught off guard every time😂
His Swedish accent is way better than my English accent. It's most impressive that he still speaks it so fluently and clean after not living here for so many years. I'm engaging in English speech everyday and still I can't speak it that clean. If I'd ever meet Richie I'd be more comfortable speaking Swedish with him just to hide my Swenglish.
He speaks better then som of the Skarsgårds to, Dolp Lundgren become ”To Big” to remember to speak fairly good Swedish and that fenomen still shows up now and then..
Riktigt bra! Kunde inte höra någon brytning alls när han pratade svenska. Han till och med använde ordet "typ" som nästan bara vi som har svenska som modersmål gör.
Magical fun to here him speak swedish with a little bit of stockholmska (tyvärr)...jeje, kill me stockholmare, bryr mig inte ett päss! But he is not only a man with a talent to guitars...he is talented of the speech with different language...waoow! It would be really fun to talk to him over a beer or 2!
I thaught about that too! The first couple of seconds I thaught (Sorry to all the fans for not knowing who he was, I just wanted to hear people try to speak swedish right now in the middle of the night and this video came up... ;-) ) he WAS a swede being interviewed i english! =D Then I heard that it was definitely not the case, but yes, it did come back from time to time during the interview. =)
Musicians usually have "good ears". (Most *good* musicians, anyway...) Meaning that you're able to *quickly* pick up and memorize a specific melody or sound, and then repeat it. This is also very useful when learning a new language. Richie's Swedish was almost *eerily* perfect, though. I guess it's partly due to the fact that he was still very young when he lived there. Once you're past your teens, learning a new language usually becomes much harder. (O tal vez me he vuelto peresozo...)
He speaks better then any American/English celeb curently living in Sveden that i know of, but i think some of them take pride in that NOT learning to speak without a strong british accent.. 😉
I gonna show this to my British friends, who have been living here for MANY years, and still suck at Swedish. Problem is, everyone speaks English with them, so they don't need to improve 😂
Helt klockren korvgubbesvenska! Hade aldrig gissat han var britt. Respekt!
I was really surprised how good his Swedish was.
Man blir paff när man hör någon som man tror absolut inte kan svenska prata svenska. Och så bra. Uttalet var perfekt.
That is actually quite impressive. Really rare to hear someone, that hasn't learned Swedish by 13-14 or so, speak it with such a good accent. Even more rare probably for someone having English as a native language. I guess he is rather gifted.
Fascinating. Speaking with him briefly you wouldn't probably even realize Swedish isn't his native language.
I am Swedish and I'm gobsmacked how natural his Swedish sounded.
WOW! That Swedish accent is spot on. If I had just heard him speak Swedish I probably would have been fooled into thinking he was Swedish. And that is very unusual for someone with English as their first language even after living in Sweden for several decades!
OMG ! Im from sweden and he speaks swedish spot on with an accent perfect !
I find it unique that some Swedish people speak english in the same accent as most Americans have.
@@dauntingtask8399 Blaming Hollywood :)
@@dauntingtask8399 And some Swedes talk with a British accent. Really weird lol. (I'm Swedish and i speak in a very Swedish accent lol)
@@dauntingtask8399 That's quite understandable though, isn't it? Most of the culture we consume is from the USA.

His Swedish is perfect wtf. He even got a Stockholm accent.
To speak perfect swedish you have to speak Nyköping accent... Not Stockholm ;)
When he speaks it also sounds so natural. What a surprise.
Wow! He speaks perfect Swedish. That accent was spot on. I couldn't hear any difference from a native Swede
Stockholm accent, must have been living there quite abit!! impressive!
Holy crap, I don't say this lightly, but he has a perfect accent, I couldn't even tell he was from another country.
Haha, han låter ju som vem som helst. Helt jävla guld!
I am swedish its spot on better than many lived here 20 years.
Wow man, he doesnt even sound foreign. Sounds exactly like any other Swede.

That was insanely good pronunciation.
Riktigt bra svenska, 5 korvar i betyg ;0)

His Swedish is really great, he sounds like a Stockholm native and I wouldn't have guessed that he's actually English
Holy f*ck! That's PERFECT swedish, with 0% foreign accent. Silly god!
His accent, spot on!
Damn, that was really good. His swedish was very impressive.
Wow!! I had no idea he even speaks swedish and he speaks fluently!
The pronunciation is so good I'd have guessed he's "Rickard Falk" from somewhere around Stockholm.
Wow, actually really impressed by his accent. He even sounds like a Swedish person :)

När jag har en dålig dag brukar jag kolla på det här klippet. Det är svårt att inte le när han flinar och säger att "Varmkorv" är ett roligt ord!
He had me at "Korvgubbe"! Good Job!

Am i the only one who sort of hears a slight swedish accent to his english, it comes and goes ^_^
You're probably mishearing

Totally agree with this. I hear different languages as music with their own cadences, rhyhtm and tone. I can pick up languages quickly like this.
Hardly an accent even! I'm impressed
speaks better swedish after 5 years than people who have lived here for 50
I did not just watch Richie Faulkner speak Swedish
His swedish is "spot on"!!
Holy fuck. Almost perfect swedish dialect from Stockholm
Jävlar vad bra svenska det var.
Damn, he's good at swedish too!
I think I can try to speak Swedish after a couple of beers too😂🤘
Veena come to sweden and i buy you lots of beer
The little he says in Swedish...he does it with amazing good riksvenska....va faan??

Så sjukt 😳
He obviously has an ear for languages. Swedish is a very difficult language but if I spoke to him I’d put him down as a native
My Swedish brain broke.
