In this video I will walk you through the step by step process on how to take care of and repair your vacuum cleaner and keep it running at peak performance.
    Included in this video is… How to change the belt on a vacuum cleaner. How to clean a clogged vacuum cleaner. How to take apart and put back together a vacuum cleaner.

    That looks like a model 1700 or very similar model 2191. They’re cheap, but very lightweight and clean surprisingly well. Though I would not recommend them for people with allergies. I did a RUclips video on a model 1700 and recently gave away two 2191s that work, though they needed minor work, over OfferUp. All three of them were trash picked. I have rescued dozens of vacuum cleaners from dumpsters over the last nine years.

      Most are just a plastic knob with steps on the underside of that knob increase or decrease the height. You may want to check that knob and make sure it’s not broken or what address against (the wheel bar). It is a very simple design

      Could be you have a bad switch , Loose or frayed wire or possibly your motor is burned out.
      Electricity can be very dangerous To work with. I cannot recommend you do this but if you know somebody that is experienced working with electricity you may have them check it out before you throw it away.

      If you get the notches on that lined up perfectly with the hole it’ll push right in and then you turn it and it locks in place. it would probably Be easiest if you remove the belt and roller cover and lift up and remove the wheel as I showed him the video and then put that hide adjustment knob in… Lining up the nachos and then turn it… Then put your wheels back in then the belt cover back on and you’re all set

    Hey I get a whirring sound with mine and it smells like it's burning does that mean the motor is going I cleaned out the filter I cleaned out the build up around the bottom but it still makes the sound and smells weird

    • @helpinguonline
      @helpinguonline  11 месяцев назад

      Sounds like your motor is struggling. I would clean the brush especially the two ends and make sure the bearings on the ends are clear of hair and dirt. I would also pull the bottom belt cover off and check the belt and motor shaft and make sure that is all clean and clear.
      The burning smell is probably because there is a restriction and the roller brush is not spinning freely causing the motor shaft to spin faster than the rubber belt and that is possibly where you’re burning smell is coming from

    So there is no filter behind the red triangle? That's where all the air blows out. Those pipes clog too easily. The worst feature however, is the way too short hose! Even with extensions it's less than 8 feet so you have to pick the whole thing up to reach ceilings and windows. Very inconvenient.

    Free Advice - Take the vacuum completely apart apart and clean it. You will find three more filters that will need to be cleaned as well since the internal parts of the vacuum are likely to be filthy too.

    • @helpinguonline
      @helpinguonline  Год назад +1

      Take the belt off and turn on your vacuum you should hear it running freely… That means your motor is spinning free. Then unplug your vacuum and without the belt on turn the roller brush and it should spin freely. If both of those are spinning freely Then put your belt on and everything should be running fine. If one or the other does not spin freely check for hair or debris keeping it from spinning freely
