The James Webb Telescope has done a terrific job so far, and its observations are also beginning to change the way we see the universe shortly after the big bang.
And while it scours the edge of the universe, there is another goal of the telescope-a secondary one- which for us, is also a very big deal: and that is, to study the atmospheres of exoplanets, to search for gasses created by living organisms called biosignatures, and chemicals produced by sophisticated alien societies, known as technosignatures.
Now, scientists have used the telescope data to simulate its observation of the Earth from far away to find out if it can detect techno-signatures.

no you did not turn it towards earth as the headline indicates. In the entire video there is not one image of the earth taken by the James Web telescope.
It can’t even take an image of earth. I will never understand channels doing this because I’d never subscribe or watch it again
Surely if life did exist on any of these faraway worlds it will also be much older than ours and extinct before we could learn about it. Divide our habitable planet lifetime of earth into the time and distance scales we are talking about. How many times might life have been and gone by the time we find first signs.
It will be in fact meaningless endeavor, knowledge for knowledge sake, no chance of ever meet or visit, if we were even lucky enough to find any biosignature
Even if we see some signs of life like that on earth , we cannot even communicate with other primates, so we will never be able to communicate with the alien life like we little idea how to communicate with whale or dolphins.
