if it wasn't for the vietnam war, banning Ali from boxing for almost 4 years, with no money and no job and also Ali's age, No one of these gentlemen could beat Ali
thankyou jo frazier ken norton george foreman larry holmes and mohamed ali for everything that you have done and continue to do... thankyou for teaching us the ways of the warriors of old and thankyou for baring your soul so in history yall story could be told...thankyou so much. makalani o. jones
George Foreman was training so intensely for Gerry Cooney. lol... He knocked him out cold in the second round and send him into retirement, even though he was 6 years older than the guy.
Ali being too nice about Tyson, he knows damn well he would school that boy if they both fought in their Primes. In fact none of these guys would beat Ali in his prime in my opinion.
Joe looks a lot lighter and relaxed towards Ali than what the HBO Thrilla in Manila documentary made it look. There´s obviously a bit of bad blood, and Joe gets uncomfortable if he thinks he´s being underappreciated (like when Gumble says in another portion of this interview they all sort of fought ¨under the shadow¨ of Ali), but that´s all understandable. The doc makes it look like Ali´s comments prior to all their fights made Joe a bitter man for the rest of his life.....he looks pretty OK with things in this interview. But who knows, right? Aside from that, Gumble is kind of a moron. Said a good couple of stupid things all through the interview.
Eduardo Valdez-Modonese Ali and Frazier (according to Frazier) got it together and became friends after a time and WERE comfortable together. Frazier even seemed real upset about Ali's condition and concerned that he may have been instrumental in adding to this condition. The interviews are out there. What is surprising is what a sweet guy Joe actually is. Of interest, Foreman and Ali have continued to remain somewhat close, Norton has always expressed his appreciation for the opportunities that Ali gave him, and there was most likely never any ill will between Holmes and Ali since Ali was instrumental in bringing Larry up in the business in the first place.
***** Foreman has indicated that Ali and Frazier had 'buried the hatchet'. Frazier has stated that as well but when he is coerced into remembering the 'incidents' he does get teary and emotional. He could never understand why Ali would do what he did. Personally, I understand it from the point of view of trying to sell a fight, which Ali was a master of, but some of it was simply cruel. Ali may have been the greatest but Frazier came out as more of a ....shall we say...gentleman?
***** That's probably true but debatable. After the first Ali-Frazier fight it could have possibly sold itself. Before Ali, however, boxing was kind of on the fringes of sports and had a reputation for being a toy for organized crime. This kept a great number of people from parting with their money to go to fights and even the great boxers weren't exactly making a lot of money. Then Ali showed up and did his best 'Gorgeous George' imitation to get people riled and, most importantly, interested. Most would give credit to Ali for stirring this up so that boxers were then capable of walking out with a couple million. I would speculate Ali's motivation was to keep the momentum going and see how high he could get the purse. When Frazier took over after Ali lost the title, boxing was coming out of the dark and Joe was a very respectable champion, but there was a noticeable lull or plateau in public interest. So, when asked if he missed boxing, Ali answered in typical bluster that boxing missed him. What an ego....but I feel he was probably correct.
+hungfao really? not sure when but i thought he wished ali would have fallen into the cauldron at the olympics or some shit... i could be wrong i'm going from what i'v read
@27danielDM I still wonder til this day why that fight never happened. I think that fight would have been a 15 round slug fest. That fight should've happened before Joe fought Foreman a second time.
is there a possibility that Muhammad Ali had Parkinson's disease because of poison or something, to prevent him from entering politics. Many boxers have been hit harder and more but rarely have Parkinson's disease. I love u Man ... you're the greatest ... RIP
I mean they blame his Parkinson’s from being hit in the head but Ali dodged a lot of those blows. How many times was Michael J Fox hit to cause his? It’s possible Ali just got it like anyone else does.
If you watched the fight you'd see Larry was giving him trouble early on, he hardly had time to prepare for that fight either. He even didn't say he'd win in a rematch, just that he would do better, which is true
Their names are JKLM,... what are the odds? How many smartass statements have we missed out on over the years cuz of Ali's brain damage? Regardless his slowness adds interest to this conversation.
No hate..i like all these guys we can see right there...but thats crazy how Ali sit in front of the people why he have Parkinson cause they punched the shit out of him...
George Foreman was training so intensely for Gerry Cooney. lol... He knocked him out cold in the second round and send him into retirement, even though he was 7 years older than the guy.
Larry Holmes beating Gerry ruined him, then in 1987, Mike Spinks stopped Gerry, George Foreman finally retired Gerry! Holmes ruined Gerry Cooney as Ali did to Foreman!
Man Joe Frazier is just such a gentle, great man. Everything he says is so beautiful and respectful to everyone❤
Only one left now is Larry Holmes,Godbless him and his family!
Love ALi, such an upbeat person even when he can't speak properly... he will always be loved by me and countless others
RIP Joe Frazier and now Ken Norton. The 1970's list of heavyweight Boxers were the greatest era of all time!
These guys are all great, and it's so cool to see them chatting it up.
I can listen to these dudes for hours.
imagine if ali did not have parkinson, he would dominate this interview too :D
It's sad that 3 out of 4 of those champions are now gone.
This is one great interview. It is an hit or just watching these legends sitting on the same stage having respect for each other.
Oh yeah, that was so cool that Ali was an early visitor to Norton's hospital room after the crash.
Ali still sharp in spite of his illness here.
Yessuh Lol the Tyson Dream got me Dying LOL
Norton makes me smile...
Brought a tear to me.
Would of love to of seen a Joe Frazier Ken Norton fight.
They were best friends and didn't want to fight each other for that reason.
Boy hearing these ex fighters speak you can hear the after effects of them being constantly hit in the head so sad.
Not foreman , and Norton had a terrible car accident which incurred head injuries and the need to learn to speak again - tough man
Awesome stuff. Please upload more if you have any and many thanks for uploading this one.
Awesome upload man, thanks
if it wasn't for the vietnam war, banning Ali from boxing for almost 4 years, with no money and no job and also Ali's age, No one of these gentlemen could beat Ali
they are like ex presidents haha. ken norton was still jacked he looked 20 years younger too.
I love it man they are all G.O.A.T.S this is beautiful !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just noticed the size of Norton's hands. They were huge
Priceless !!!
Легендарные боксёры на все времена!!!
thankyou jo frazier ken norton george foreman larry holmes and mohamed ali for everything that you have done and continue to do... thankyou for teaching us the ways of the warriors of old and thankyou for baring your soul so in history yall story could be told...thankyou so much.

Met the GOAT Muhammad Ali in 1975, during a meet and greet at his ‘Thrilla in Manila’ bout against Joe Frazier. I was three! 😊❤️
When he fought under Cassius Clay 1966 .What speed Wow!!
In 1966 he had already changed his name to Ali
That speed was gone when he came back after his absence from boxing.
Ali is THE Greatest 👑👑👑
I wish Jerry quarry was here :(
“Bryant Gumble” the best TV presenter 🤙🏾
Ken Norton looked great
They great champions because they fight with muhammad ali
ken norton was from a car accident but yeah you are right.. It is sad to hear.
I like Joe Frasier!!!!
I am checking at 221....- Ali hahaha o man still funny as hell
Ali being too nice about Tyson, he knows damn well he would school that boy if they both fought in their Primes. In fact none of these guys would beat Ali in his prime in my opinion.
Ken Norton beat him, frazier beat him, but ali eventually beat them (more than once).
@joceja23 you are right on the money. Holmes would of gave him a fantastic fight even if Ali was in his prime. I still give the edge to Ali.
woooop! Smokin Joe Frazier
@airkooled05 Yes, apparently he also did magic tricks beside his hospital bed just to cheer him up. I read it in an article a while back.
3 of these dudes are dead now. that sucks.
I disgree with bryant gumble...holmes didnt send ali into retirement, ali was already damn near 40 and had nothing left. Time was ali's foe.
7:29 Ali said "If you pay" lmfao! Brain damage my ass!!!
4:30 what Mayweather should hear. These are greats talking about the love of sport.
FRAZIER FOREVER!!
Thanks I owe you a pint.
Did anyone understand what Ali said, I love your show, I admire your style, what did he say after that?
But your pay is so cheap I won't be back for a while
Ty
holmes had 20 successful title defense and beat anybody and everybody that was around for 7 1/2 years.
@DaRottweiler84 I've heard they were good friends and sparring partners and just didn't want to fight each other.
1989, isn't this after Norton's accident? Wouldn't he still be in the hospital?
Li Pan Norton had his accident in 1986.
Norton had already been out of the hospital a couple of years
