At first I was ok with the original paint job but after seeing what you’ve done it looks 10 times better, awesome job!
If you add a bright bronze over the top over your gold it'll look more like the movies color.

Honestly I'm thinking about doing this when mine arrives next week. The only thing ill change is I'll paint the heads manually so I don't need to repaint the eyes or teeth.
I saw what you did and had to try something a tad different with mine. Like you said I would love to see it glisten more so I ended up using a Sakura Gold calligraphy pen. I’m almost certain it took longer what you had to do since it was all by pen but I love how shiny it came out. Even though it leaves stroke marks on the wings, I think it makes look more folded like a suit would look

Really cool! I wanna do this to one if I ever get it, since I’ve never done a custom monsterarts before, other than like the face of gamera 99 and the eye of my godzilla 2019, but this looks fun! I might do this to try and complete a DAM display

Speaking of that, in the near future I don't know if u want to say I got inspiration from u but I kinda want to start doing customs myself whether figures, dioramas, cosplays, or even all three. Maybe a gmk Godzilla with the atomic blast shooting out of his shoulder will be my first one but again it is not going to be right away, but I want to try eventually

Hey Steve, i had recently bought myself a bootleg Ghidorah, but when I was taking the heads off to paint them, I didn't realize that on one of the heads, they had LITERALLY, glued the mouth ball joints in so when i began to gently take it out, the ball joint snapped in half. Is there any to go about fixing it?
Would primer spray paint work or should I just used acrylic paint for it just asking
That looks amazing! Great job! Question, would a brown gundam marker work for the “hair” area? Maybe smearing it to blend in?
I would say no. It's got to many ridges and the marker would just leave streaks on the plastic.

this is really wicked, how’d you superglue the wings to keep them from falling off but still save the articulation? thinking about getting one of these and if I can avoid the wings constantly falling out I’d definitely like to
If I remember right, it just slots into the joint, so gluing it don't effect it.

What did you use to thin the paint? I've never had any luck with these thicker acrylics coming out the airbrush.
Acrylic thinner. Did 50/50
Testor’s Aztek airbrushable metallic gold does not need a thinner. It’s incredible.

I recently got a ghidorah bootleg I ordered and one of the horns on the third head is bent to the right. How do I fix it so it wont look so awkward?
Hair dryer maybe?
Heat it with a hairdryer and bend it back

Hey Steve I was thinking, I don’t want to have him too golds because I want my heisei ghidorah to stand out more the way I display them. Could I use a dry brush on him instead of painting him completely?
If you wanted a more duller color, it could probably work for yeah. All you would really be doing is just making it more metallic at that point.

Does spray paint work well?
Possibly. You have to be careful not to overspray the figure and also the soft plastic used could make you paint dry tacky as well. If you are going to try this, make sure to do it on a small piece first to see how it sets.
