Amoretti biscuits are sometimes served with a coffee, especially in Italian restaurants. But after you have eaten the biscuit, you can have fun with the paper wrapper. As well as cellulose fibres, many types of paper include fillers such as chalk or china clay. This makes it easier to write or print on the paper's surface. It also makes the paper heavier. But the paper wrappers on Amoretti biscuits are made from a particularly light weight paper, apparently without fillers, which makes this trick possible.
First flatten the paper, then roll it up into a loose tube, and stand it on one end. Light the top of the paper, ideally at both sides of the tube so that it burns evenly. It is important that there are no drafts, since that will simply cause the paper to fall over. The paper burns rapidly, and people that have not seen the trick can start to panic, and can sometimes try to blow it out or even throw a glass of water over the burning paper! But as the paper burns away, the paper that is left becomes lighter and lighter, and eventually, the last piece of the tube gets carried up into the air, on the updraft caused by the heat from the burning paper. At anything from 3 to 8 feet above the table, the last piece of the paper burns away, and a piece of black ash slowly descends. Magic!
Other paper items...
Pages from a book have been cleverly folded, creating the figure of an angel...
A paper item that can be folded different ways, to create different shapes...
A paper slinky, known as 'Flurry Fun'.
Finally, an amazing sheet of paper that Tim has just bought from Japan. Roll the paper up into a tube, and you have... a torch! There are a couple of very small batteries, attached to one end of the sheet, and the sheet is covered with an array of LEDs. The other side of the sheet does not have LEDs, but it has a metallic grid that covers it. When you bring the two sides of the sheet of paper into contact - for example by rolling the sheet up - the circuit is completed, and the LEDs light up. The paper torch. Amazing! Наука
My son and I have spent years loving your videos. And we will go on loving them and our grandchildren will love them too. To readers, please foster the sense of curiosity. It pays back more than you can imagine. Within your self or others, being curious will bring you and others joy. Whether that be cooking or replacing car parts. It all starts with being amazed with what's possible. Gems like Tim ignite that flame in people of all ages.
This is the most wholesome channel every I love it
Bravo I was 6 I am 11 when I sall this channel I hope he never dies 😭😭
It's not that deep lol grow up
:) aye
IT's really not that deep dude
If you watch the fire-balloon burn, you can see the flame turn green as it passes the part with the blue ink, which means the ink likely contains copper.
If someone wants to try the first one, an empty tea filter unfolded into a cylinder shape is perfect for it
No English person will ever do it. It's tea bag.
Bigelow is the best!
I still remember the first video you did on this and I bought Amoretti biscuits for the papers when I was in Italy and I saw how it worked, and when I went back home it worked EXACTLY how you showed.
AMAZING, TIM.
So much love and appreciation.
I assume u mean AMARETTI biscuits. I m gonna buy those just for the paper
having this old man calmly play with toys and tell me how they are very very interesting keeps me calm enoughto play with my toys.
I love Tim's patient and methodical way he does his videos. They always help me slow down and appreciate some of the quirkier things in life. I always tend to look for fun and interesting trinkets to play with and now have a mini collection of toys and oddities myself
In finland we would use Teabags for paper balloons. If you took the bag apart carefully it could be made into tube and launched like paper balloon.
These days quite few tea bags are not good paper balloons as modern savings have changed the bags, but the paper is readily available, good balloon material.
Merry Christmas Tim! Thank you for everything 🎉
I also immediately noticed there was no smoke when you were burning the rolled-up paper at the beginning.
The flying wrapper reminds me of an old trick I learned as a kid. You take an ordinary teabag (preferably individually wrapped) while telling a story:
A man is selling rockets to the military. The military tells him the price is too high. So the man says, "alright, we'll remove the packaging to bring the price down." You take the teabag out of the packaging. The price is still to high, so the man removes the safety (take the label off the string). Still too high. Take the fuse off (string). Too high. Remove the little staple holding the bag closed. Still too high. "Ok, we'll take the gunpowder out." Unfold the bag and pour out the tea. At this point the military is all, "the rocket won't fly without the gunpowder!" The man responds with, "oh yes it does," and you straighten the teabag into a tube, set it on the table and light it just like the rolled up candy wrapper, causing it to fly off.
Empty tea bag opened up to a cylinder shape is also good for rocket left off.
For Superman the world is indeed made of cardboard paper.
The look of wonder on Tim's face as the fire balloon takes off... Marvellous
I suppose I have heard it before, but never really thought much about it, that ordinary paper contains some kind of clay and chalk or gypsum to make it more opaque. Knowing this, it becomes very obvious why cutting lots and lots of paper with scissors make the scissors' cutting edges dull over time, even more noticeable with regular kitchen knives or paper knives. As my employer's only IT technician, it has been my task during the last 5 years to perform maintenance on the paper shredder, exposing me to a lot of paper dust containing chalk or gypsum and lots of other types of dust particles. Different types and qualities of paper contains different amounts of clay and chalk. It has become rather obvious to me that cheap paper is quite dirty if you have to handle lots of paper waste from all the paper bins and the shredder. Thank you very much for the enlightenment (literally). 😄😊
Fascinating as ever! Thank you Tim. ⭐👍🎄
Today we are burning the table down. Marvellous, some really great engineering there. Heh.
“And this is a fat stack of bills, it’s also just paper but it’s way more fun than these other things. Imma go make it rain, peace”
This guy is such a treasure.
The entire content of your videos is so fascinating, and it keeps me entertained as well as educated! Thank you Tim!
Wonderfully entertaining video,Tim! The paper torch was really amazing,I thought.
Happy Christmas Tim I bet you put on wonderful shows for kids.
This is my favorite one in a long time.
Wonderful.
Thank you.
☮
Left behind zero mess of ashes. Amazing
I'm an American, and I love my country, but Britain has us beat in the box matchstick industry. By miles.
I remember forever ago, someone made a chair out of rolled up bits of newspaper, I got to sit in it, it was supposed to provide a springyness , but it didn't, one of the worst chairs I ever sat on 😂 - I remember there was another made of rubber spikes, hollow, but I never tried that
Nothing relaxes me like these videos!
This man will die one day. He will go and he will take his mind and his beautiful heart full of whimsy and wonder with it
I say this because I want us all to appreciate how lucky we are that we get to see these snippets and small parts of tim, that he's given us these videos that will surely outlast him so that even when he is gone we can share in this small part of him
Cherish these moments. They won't last. Nothing does. But for now we have them and that is very good and we are very lucky for that
I would do the fire trick when i was a kid by emptying teabags.
Friday night or Saturday morning is my time with Tim
1:13 you can use the paper from an empty tea bag to save some money.
And it comes pre-rolled into a little tube :)
Those paper slinkies are magnificent! Fascinating stuff!
The last one is amazing
that lamp is genius really
for the paper baloon trick you can just use an emptyed out tea bag
Merry Christmas, Tim!
Rolling papers for smokers does this too. You can test the quality by the ash left behind. Less ash the better
Oh my gosh I haven’t seen this channel IN YEARS
An empty tea bag also works
Tim has the largest collection of stuff from world wide
You could use tea bags for the first trick
Always love your videos 😊
Gotta slow it down for the accents this time but i am very happy to see an item from Italy. Where cab i find the soft burning paper?
Hope you have a fantastic 2024 Tim!
Sometimes just sitting down with an old man is what u need to settle down
This trick works with teabags to 😉.
If people were paper: some would be books some construction others money and some toilet paper
Wow the last one from Japan is really great idea! Makes me want to create something using the concept but with different purposes and aesthetic. Very inspiring.
It's a scroll of Light!
HAPPY CHRISTMAS GRAND ILLUSIONS
You find the best toys!
YAY ANOTHER🎉
Greetings from Poland 🇵🇱👍
Hello from India 🇮🇳, Congrats.
1st is the Best
Wow, a square paper version of a slinky. I like it.
Marvelous!🎉
Some men just want to see the paper burn
Tim, you can actually do the same thing you did at the beginning with a tea bag. My mom used to make it into a nice story when I was a child, along the lines of:
A boy really wanted to buy a rocket for new years eve, but he was poor and didn't have much money. When he asked the clerk for the cheapest rocket, he was disappointed to learn it was much too expensive.
He asked, "What if we take it out of the packet?" *Storyteller takes out the tea bag of its little packet*
- "Well if we take it out of the packet, I'll make it a little cheaper for you"
He asked, "What if we remove the tag?" *Storyteller removes the tag on the end of the string*
- "Well if we remove the tag, I'll make it a little cheaper for you"
He asked, "What if we remove the fuse?" *Storyteller removes the string*
- "Well if we remove the fuse, I'll make it a little cheaper for you"
He asked, "What if we remove the powder?" *Storyteller removes the content from the tea bag*
- "Well if we remove the powder, I'll make it a very, very cheap for you"
The boy was so happy to finally have a rocket for new years eve, for the first time in his life, and when the time came to light his rocket:
*Storyteller places the empty tea bag (now in the form of a paper cylinder) and lights it* And it flies into the air like you showed! A great story for children!😁
I love the story! For modern tea bags, make sure it's a brand that says the bags are plastic-free, a lot of cheaper brands took to using polycotton fibre for the pulp in the '00s and that could fume as well as spoil the rocketing effect.
I'm totally gonna try this story on Xmas. Thank you!
tim says let it be interesting films now
and it in deed workes so well or chuld i say splendid
Relaxing 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤
I was so excited to try this trick! I had heard of it, but didnt know what paper to use. Unfortunately it turns out they've changed the paper, this doesn't work anymore😢
Supposedly you can use japanese washi paper instead, I haven't tried that yet. At least the cookies are pretty good, so it wasn't a complete waste.
BEM INCOMUNS, E GOSTO DISSO.
💚
It's a wonderful thing.
he should see the new paper packing.. stuff
Grandy Nice 📃
