    diesels.... those are the ones that don't make that chuff chuff noise, smell great and are covered in steam right. As appossed to those "orrible" blue coloured shoe box thingy's that look as if they are burning tyres 😁

      Absolutely...They are also the very same engines being used to replace steam-hauled services on many preserved lines due to the difficulty/cost of getting the right coal to fire those lovely smelling steam engines that go "chuff chuff". So rather than the negative comment how about a little appreciation for a type of train that is very possibly keeping your preserved line open....

      Diesels are those things that they put at the back of a mainline steam special to undo the atmosphere created by the steam engine at the front. They are also sometimes have to drag the whole train backwards for a return journey with the steam engine looking undignified, dragged backwards at the end of the train.

      @@jeremypreece870 Diesels are the things NR insist are attached to the hugely unreliable steam engine so when it invariably breaks down the train can be cleared from the main line, thus saving a HUGE delay bill for the regular trains....
