- Part 1 of a 100% walkthrough for Donkey Kong Country Returns for Nintendo Wii. This video covers world 1, the jungle. This walkthrough will show the locations for all KONG Letters and Puzzle Pieces all every stage.
We play through the following levels:
Intro
World 1-1: Jungle Hijinxs
World 1-2: King of Cling
World 1-3: Tree Top Bop
World 1-4: Sunset Shore
World 1-5: Canopy Cannons
World 1-6: Crazy Kart
World 1-K: Platform Panic (This temple is unlocked upon collecting all KONG letters in world 1)

I've noticed a key problem all the villains do that cause their downfall. They keep stealing the personal supply of the Kongs. If they left the supply alone, the Kongs would ignore them.
But the tiki need the bananas, to create more tiki and hands for tiki tong.

Well the Snowmads went a step further and literally took over the DK Island, barely even bothering with DK's Banana supply.
They still pissed off the Kongs still.
The tiki masks were probably one of the most weirdest and interesting villains. Especially when they couldn’t brainwash DK, which probably means DK is either weak minded, or their power is only on specific entities or something.
I really hope to see Kalimba again

I think the reason is because he's a monkey. Which are inherently a bit more intelligent then most other animals.
I think I heard the creators confirm he was too stupid to be affected. Or he could be too stubborn or strong-willed.

Man, I remember playing this game on my Nintendo 3ds for hours at a time when I was around 9, great memories.
I remember playing it on wii within a week of its release and I played it a lot. Then I got the 3ds port and played it a lot too. I was 12 when it launched on wii back in 2010

I just bought this game again on wii to relive it. Its probably been at least 5 years since I really played. Did world 1 100% tonight and forgot how challenging those temples actually are lol. $20 very well spent haha

Fun Fact: Donkey Kong Country Returns was originally released on Nintendo Wii in 2010 and then 3 years later this game was rereleased on Nintendo 3DS in 2013 in which there’s a easy three hearted mode.
Late reply but the 3ds version also has more golden temple levels, not thr ones located in every world but after the final boss levels

Step 1: let the volcano erupt
Step 2: hypnotize the animals
Step 3: STEAL DA BANANAS WHILE DK AND DIDDY K ARE AWAY
Step 4: YOU DID IT!
Step 5: Try to hypnotize DK and screw up realizing that you f*cked up.

"DK Island Swing" which plays in Jungle Hijinxs (the first level of Donkey Kong Country Returns as well as the 3ds and Switch versions) and Tree Top Bop also plays during the MLB Baseball's Rangers-Orioles game which it aired on ESPN2 as an encore presentation.
My mom got this game because she loved playing the original donkey kong games all the time when she was little (her favorite levels in Donkey Kong Country were the ones with the minecarts)
Everyone forgets about this. You can blow out the lanterns that are in the levels, e.g. in Crazy Cart right before you break the bridge to the slide before the mine cart, and sometimes they bundles of bananas and banana coins in them

Diddy Kong in a cutscene prologue to Donkey Kong Country Returns finds a hoard of bananas missing that they were stolen and the Tikis that command and influence the other animals hypnotized them to have stole them and they were never recovered thus begins the adventure.
