Este jueguito me es muy entretenido por sus gráficos y música en 16-bits, y por varias cosillas que tiene en comparación con los títulos de arcades. Solo que tienes que acostumbrarte a su modo de juego.

now that's what i do call a 16bit game,most ngpc games more looks like gameboycolor games,only the audio is like all otner games still bleepy!!!

johneygd it uses the same sound chip as the sega game gear and master system..which is why the audio is so primitive.

These are the two serious drawbacks the console showed.
It was a very competent and well built system... But...
The PSG sound chip was, that... Just a Bleep-Bleep Chack Chack chip.
The PSG was used in ancient MSX computers, even during their existance they performed worse than their competitors, AY, POKEY or SID.
Even the Atari ST sounded much better than the PSG, and we're talking about 1986.
The second drawback was the way the console managed sprites.
TOO FEW COLOURS PER SPRITE... 3 colours.
That forced programmers to use 2 sprites per character in order to make the thing more colorful, they did that in Metal Slug 2, but the results are quite poor either.

Ya the system used a Z80 processor for the sound and a dated 16-bit processor. My opinion is on par with the Gameboy Color both in terms of graphical and audio quality. The real difference for the system is the arcade style joystick and the games themselves. Metal slug played on anything other than a joystick just doesn't feel right. Also at the time the NGPC cane out SNK was strapped for cash and this was a last ditch effort to try and become relevant in the home. Also the system only lasted from 1998-2001 (globally) I would imagine if it was on the market longer developers would learn how to utilize the system the best. But it does come down to the games and the NGPC had some excellent titles.
I prefer the Wonderswan Color over the NGPC and GBA. The Wonderswan has a much better 16-bit processor and audio quality. The Wonderswan is also a much smaller system than the other two. But since it only went to market in Japan most of the games have to be imported. And it is a lot tougher to find the games online, the games aren't necessarily rare but they don't often show up on ebay or amazon.
Also this is a pretty bad emulation of the game, the Audio is all over the place and doesn't sound that bad on the NGPC system. I just am stuck in the game and keep looping around on the 6th or 7th level and am not sure what I am doing wrong lol

+Pmike404 Yes its true SNK built and produced a fine system to but heads with, but i think the part of the problem was, that they ddin't have enough 3rd party support, we should have had Data East, Capcom Street Fighter and Final Fight 2, and Konami games, and Irem, more SEGA & Namco too.
