At least everyone can download them on either on the Nintendo Switch or Steam through Neo Geo Pocket Color Selection Vol. 1 or as a Double Pack contains both games.
The NGPC had such a unique style to the graphics. The character sprites were simple 8 bit sprites with basic colors, while the backgrounds were super detailed.
@@Trashboat4444 Sorta. The NGPC's backgrounds had ALOT more color. Colors were more vibrant than the GBC, and more colors could be used for each sprite.
@@tablettablet3028I believe this is because despite the fact the Neo Geo Pocket Colour has 8-bit graphics, it's actually a 16 bit console. This is why Sonic Pocket Adventure controls so great, while other 8-bit Sonic titles such as the Master System/Game Gear games feel so off.
Did you have one as a kid? I'm curious how a kid ended up with an obscure handheld such as this as opposed to the Gameboy.. I grew up with Gameboy and actually didn't even know this existed..
Dang the animations are so good for a crude game console like this. I remember in the dev interview in metal slug anthology they said one of the arcade cabinets caught on fire because the games were so demanding.
This might be a dumb question, but if it's a 16 bit system, why do the character sprites look like 8 bit gameboy color sprites? I know the backgrounds are more detailed, but graphically (and sound wise) the system reminds me more of a GBC than a 16 bit system like SNES or Genesis (or even the 8 bit/16 bit hybrid system The PC Engine)
That feeling when you can turn around the Slug in this game but not in the other games. A lot of units could've been remade and reused in later Metal Slug games. 3:04 Helipack Gang 4:11 Shield + Bazooka
This looks marginally better than what the regular black and white gameboy could do, but almost 10 years later, and with far worse sound chip quality. (sounds like Master system/ amstrad :( )
I own one o deez things.. imo the sprite work is always unfinished and the musics and sounds seem very primitives? Very high pitch, repetitive, dingy, and while it doesn't really strike any real nerves I find it very grating. This lil console is so much capable of so much more.........
even by a random watch I think those two portable games have some charm like Sonic on Master System, even it's downgraded it is still better than Ms Advance in some ways
The graphics are good and I like the art design but this is kind of underwhelming for being supposedly powerful arcade machine of its day. Like really the home version went for like $600 version in the days of Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo, really?
Simon Li was the only kid with a neo geo pocket color in 6th grade and never let anyone touch or play it. Damn you Simon Li

So basically the Game Boy Color?

I miss my neo geo pocket. Used to play this and Dark Arms a lot

Pretty amusing how the protagonist (named Hero, of all things) and the very Marco Rossi are identical strangers.
After all the systems you have made game play footage videos with WOL it always surprises me when you put up footage from a "new" system.

obvious
This was the only metal slug where you had to do prison escape levels with just a knife. This is an amazing game 😊!
Hm, not bad for a handheld.
Hater
Man I'm so glad I have a NGPC, got the back lit screen mod and the flash cart with all the games. Such an underrated handheld!
Do you know where I can find a neo Geo color or would you be willing to sell it!!
Bring us a COMPLETE Metal Slug collection, SNK.
Wew finally neo geo color
Love how this version looks. How impressive.
I know it sounds crazy but the sv-000 doesn't look very threatening to me
One of my favorite game on NeoGeo Pocket Color 😊!!!
Woah amazing it seems to run pretty good for it to be on a handheld and great video keep up the good work
Heavy 🖥 machine gun!
HA! I LOVE Metal Slug games so old
Neo geo pocket colour is a very neat handheld and it also had a analog stick instead of a crappy d pad
The NGP was a neat console, too bad the GBA came right after

low resolution
The sprites are 8 bit bit but the background are 16bit
I didn't know you could upload videos in this aspect ratio. TIL. Would still look better if it was higher res.

Hilipack gang? should we call them Airborne Soldier? Oh sorry

do 2 Playthroughs On Gamecube of Nicktoons Unite and Nickelodeon Party Blast.
Metal Slug numa versão para Neo Geo Pocket Color... Que irado!!! Bem diferente dos games anteriores!!!
Verdade😆

kinda wish they would remake the metal slug games released on handhelds.
Gun shooting in tank sounds like raiden on pc engine
Nice songs
Neo Geo Pocket Color Longplay - Metal Slug 8
Why is this version of the game more responsive and quick?
it's not... framerate drops from time to time. worst metal slug to be honest.
Como acessa a missão 7 e 8?
11:20 B up.
The music reminds me of the Master System.
Y luego contra aliens, zombis, creaturas del hielo, robots, espíritus y aliens el marco un capo.
Why the Japanese version?
Why are you playing in japanese??
He’s getting that bread boyz

1 DeadClown This game was a launch title so the graphics weren’t as good as some of the later games. Still the graphics are okay for 1999
Cuantos bits tiene una neo geo pocket ? 🤔
The Soundtrack Is a Banger.
Heavy pineapple
Who's red eye?
This is awesome
