One needs to take into account that Calcite is birefringent. n(o) = 1.658 (does not depend on direction of propagation); 1.486 < n(e) < 1.658 (depends on direction of propagation); n(cb) = 1.550 (isotropic)
Excellent, but with all due respect I think you have the e and o-rays interchanged. The o-ray refractive index is the one that is independent of the direction of propagation.
This is the best video I have found on double refraction and it explains clearly what I was hoping to get out of it. Thank you for the upload.
in speech you are saying that refractive index of canada balsam is more but you are writing just opposite to it that is lesser than calcite!!
I was thinking he made a bit of mistake there.
Yaa😖😲.
For TIR to occur, the refractive index of canada balsam has to be greater than that of nicol prism.
@@ishan3412 for t.i.r light has to pass from denser to rarer meaning calcite to have more refractive index.

If Refractive index of Canada balsam is more than Refractive index of calcite then why u wrote ....U(cb)< U(cal)
Excellent explaination and good diagram also
I don't think that we can get topic clearly by listening this but we I was benefitted to a certain extent

awesome explaination
Which Software you have used for Audio
we recorded audio by text to speech conversion and there are many such software available which you can search on google...
Sir don't you reply males????...there is really a valid question in your comments box
Gud sir
good
his a wonderfull
Dont use this computer generated audio
It is confusing me while concentrating
I can't u understand that his English is too foreign language not typical Indian type but overall the explanation was quite good
If you wish to change to indian voice accent in tis video then click on the annotation tab at the center of video in first 10s of video...
hrithik gupta he's using a Text to Speech voice
very nice explanation.
