For the price the SM57 :) overall though I think I liked the SM81 for how open it sounded. The LR Baggs sounded really good. I think your statement about it being a great way to "know" what your guitar would sound like is spot on. Great alternative to mics in those situations!
Hi, nice review! i’ve had one a couple months now. It’s worth spending time with the two onboard eq’s and Voice print blend option ( sometimes a hint of the pickup can give it a bit more presence onstage)

Best way to describe what it does is “warmth.”
Most Piezo’s suck. There are far better options.
