WHY has he never been selected for the Lions?!!! I don't get it. Outrageous speed. As fast a winger as I've ever seen and a fantastic rugby brain and an unparalleled will to win to get to the try line. An all time great for England IMO.
A personal standout is when May scored those two incredible tries against France in 2020. We was 24-0 and he stopped us from being completely humiliated
Class winger with still lots to give to England but something that's also obvious from these clips is just how good Courtney lawes is. Always one of the first names on the team sheet and still delivering the goods at international level after all these years.
It’s good to have the memory rekindled. I remember his first few matches, where he seemed to loose his way. It was good to know that he was given good encouragement to learn his craft at the top level.
No, it wasn't. He was badly out of form and has continued to fall off since then. He is currently struggling to get a start with his club team: Gloucester.
6:00 This, this is what makes him a world class winger. loads of wingers have speed but look how he realised the ball isnt going over the line in time and scoops it up before dotting it down. world class hands and brains.
From an Irishman, I’m very worried each and every time we have to play this guy lol. He’s just such a threat- even in situations where you think there’s absolutely nothing on, he finds a way to weasel his way through the line.
Totally surprised May has never been a Lion. Good under the high ball, brave in the tackle, outrageous speed, ability to score tries. What more do you need? Total travesty.
One of the most underrated England players of his generation. You don't score 33 tries and out last so many other wings without all the ability. Never understood why he wasn't a Lion. Think his all round ability will be missed. Well done sir.
Easy he was badly out of form. He had a terrible 6N. So if picked it would be on reputation not his actual play. That has proven to be the correct decision. May's form has almost dropped off a cliff the last 2 seasons. Currently he is struggling to get a start for Gloucester. He has lost at least a yard of pace and kicking/defense where never that great.
@@rcopterboy Nonsense. He wasn't playing well. You can make argument why other players weren't picked: Sexton for example but May? Had a godawful 6N in lead up to Lions' tour.
Excellent compilation, well done whoever put this together! A lot of players I'd forgotten about who've been in the England set up over the last few years!!
I remember that try against the All Blacks, exploited the one weakness Conrad Smith had: the speed of a deep fried goldfish. Excellent execution of a well-planned move. Got past Dagg with little trouble too
Still the best of the lot is the first. Raw talent and belief. Daag is/was one of the finest around, and surely couldn't have expected what May did - i.e. blow him away. Brilliant stuff.
He's a superb winger and one of my favourite England players. Deserves to have been in the British Lions too. I wonder if he can overhaul Rory Underwood's record of 49 tries ? Still quite a way to go if he is to achieve that.
He did not deserve to be on the last Lion's tour. His form prior to selection of the Lions was awful. Yes players often get picked on reputation but that rarely works out. 2005 Lions tour being the prime example of that.

He's strong as well. Some of these tries required some good physicality.
Because Warren Gatland
He’s inconsistent
Cos last year his form was not great
“Welsh” coach!
Around 2017, was probably the best and fastest winger in the world
And that try against Ireland in 2020....... Maybe the greatest run ever?
@tinymahuta Did you read my comment? Did I say they were all the greatest? Or all exciting? No, but I stand by what I said
@tinymahuta they forgetting rieko ioane
rieko was deffinetly
@@jbee9713 If you think Johnny May was ever the best winger in world rugby, you don't know chit about rugby.
It was good, best England try I've ever seen Chris Ashton against the Aussies 2008 if memory serves the year correct. From a Bok fan
A personal standout is when May scored those two incredible tries against France in 2020. We was 24-0 and he stopped us from being completely humiliated
Not to mention that all important bonus point which proved to be just that.
Class winger with still lots to give to England but something that's also obvious from these clips is just how good Courtney lawes is. Always one of the first names on the team sheet and still delivering the goods at international level after all these years.
What's with the music? Would be much better with the original sound
It’s good to have the memory rekindled. I remember his first few matches, where he seemed to loose his way. It was good to know that he was given good encouragement to learn his craft at the top level.
Oh we LOVE Jonny, my kids and I think he's the bees knees for Gloucester and England.
More of these. With more commentary as well
The best winger we've had since the Robinson, Lewsey and Cohen days
Now we have him on one wing and Radwan on the other 😍
Pity he's not getting any younger :-/
True, but look at the talent available and coming through in the Premiership 💪💪
@@wilsonblunt1305 yes exciting times Radwan looks like he could be deadly to the opposition :-)
He has worked so hard and massively improved on his game as well.
Understated, mocked , but ultimately loved. What a soldier in the cause of the next World Cup.
Massive mistake not being on the lions tour to SA. As a bok supporter I was relieved. 🇿🇦🇿🇦🏴🏴
No, it wasn't. He was badly out of form and has continued to fall off since then. He is currently struggling to get a start with his club team: Gloucester.
Gatland was never a fan. Left him out in 2017 as well.
Great compilation and some unreal tries. Also really looking forward to seeing him and Radwan tomorrow

Crazy to think that his first cap happened in 2014 but 23 of his tries have happened in the last 4 years or so.
From an Irishman, I’m very worried each and every time we have to play this guy lol. He’s just such a threat- even in situations where you think there’s absolutely nothing on, he finds a way to weasel his way through the line.
His celebrations are pretty terrifying
Farrell's kick through for May's first six nations was class
It was also rare. Farrell does not create many tries.
Totally surprised May has never been a Lion. Good under the high ball, brave in the tackle, outrageous speed, ability to score tries. What more do you need? Total travesty.
Blame a twerp called Gatland
No it isn't. He played awful in 6N leading up to Lions' tour.
And yet he still gets strong criticism from some, underrated winger!
One of the most underrated England players of his generation. You don't score 33 tries and out last so many other wings without all the ability. Never understood why he wasn't a Lion. Think his all round ability will be missed. Well done sir.
he didn't score 33 tries for England. look it up.. the number was put in there to send another altogether different message entirely
How this guy didn't make the Lions tour... idk
Wasn't Welsh...

Its amazing how many of these are in the first 5 mins
His Surely one of the best wingers world rugby
Was. He isn't now.
He’s just such a good player and I respect that
England have been quality under Eddie.
Such a good athlete top player for England
That's an incredible reel
I remember that try against the All Blacks, exploited the one weakness Conrad Smith had: the speed of a deep fried goldfish. Excellent execution of a well-planned move. Got past Dagg with little trouble too
Against France #29 was lightening quick. That's up there with the best of them, he starts on the right there, works his way in beating all defenders.
The 2020 try against Ireland could be the greatest try I've ever seen.
Awesome player, even better person !
Brilliant ! Thanks !
Still the best of the lot is the first. Raw talent and belief. Daag is/was one of the finest around, and surely couldn't have expected what May did - i.e. blow him away. Brilliant stuff.
Try 31 was fantastic 80 yd run,chip n chase
I will never understand how he isnt in british lions tour
I can. His form in 6N that year was abysmal. He didn't play very well for his club team either.
That try against Ireland was outrageous as the Irish lads were not slow
Legend
absolute class winger, and rip to the number 6's ACL at 3:20
And how good has George Ford been for England over the years
He’s a very intelligent player I must say.
Music from the Blue Oyster Bar (apparently)
He's a superb winger and one of my favourite England players. Deserves to have been in the British Lions too. I wonder if he can overhaul Rory Underwood's record of 49 tries ? Still quite a way to go if he is to achieve that.

Could you do this for other top scorers? rory underwood/ben cohen/will greenwood etc
Would love to know what kind of speeds he hit when he was young. Sadly they didn't do GPS back then.
gr8 finisher
This video would’ve been even better if there wasn’t any music in it!! It’s taken the hype away from the tries.
Best England winger since Rory Underwood
Has anyone ever scored more tries in the first two minutes of a test match?
(probably someone has, but there can't be many)
Legend. Does he know how to score a boring try?
Lol, tap tackled by his team-mate at 0:29! 😀
Eat your heart out, Eddie Jones.
Music on here is shocking
Crowd noises are much more exciting than bland corporate tv music
Please re-upload with commentary not music
Whatever intern thought this music was a good idea should be sacked
Always a great finisher, but not a try maker like Robinson, Shane Williams etc...looking forward to seeing Arundel becoming a fixture...
Eurgh what is this peasant music.
Yeah you need commentary!
🏴🤜🏻
The first
The most generic music music I've ever heard. The compilation is great though!
First one again
One of the good old English speed machines
