As a Brit in the UK, I was lucky enough to spend every few years from the 1990s until the 2010s being able to piss myself laughing at Lee Evans' new stand-up VHS and DVDs. The man is a genius of comedy! So sad when he retired.
I might be wrong, but I think he was the first comedian to perform in an arena (and pretty much sell it out). To say he was popular is a criminal understatement.

You have just discovered the rabbit hole that is Lee Evans as a comedian. The guy is crazy,, high energy and absolutely hilarious. He plays in front of huge crowds in enormous venues and there isn't a dry eye in the house. He is so energetic that he needs every square inch of the stage to perform on. He just never stands still and at the end of his performance his suit is soaking wet! He must be spending a fortune on suits! The guy is just incredible, and the rabbit hole is way deeper than this.
My favourite comedian of all time. He was so unique and no one else will ever be like him. He was so good at taking normal things we do in life and making them so funny. Just an incredible on stage presence and he would sell out arenas in no time. Such a legend he really is. I have cried with laughter so many times over the years.
