    Just found your channel! I don't have your expertise but I am keen to learn. The best I have managed it to breed some silverbills. Would love to breed more finches though.

    Hi sad news due to firework, it is a problem all over and something that needs stopping. I have a low level light on at night, just enough to allow the birds to get back to perch in such situations.. Good luck

      I also use one low level blue light. Oliver, try to put one that turns on automatically during night, it helps with these type of situations.

    Hi mate got a stressful question hope I get a answer I have three mule chicks 3 weeks old and the hen keeps plucking them bold I tried adding a new nest pan and loads of nest material but she still plucks them iv taken them out in there own cage question is will they survive bein 3 weeks old on there own ?

    • @OCAVIARY
      @OCAVIARY  3 года назад +1

      3 weeks is really the earliest. Are they feeding themselves at all? If not could you put a wire divider between the hen and them so she can still feed them

    Fulltime job with so many birds. Can I ask why the big flights have no bushes or grasses etc? Learning as much as I can, thanks

    • @OCAVIARY
      @OCAVIARY  3 года назад +2

      The idea of having these flights minimal is for the benefit of the youngsters. 2 perches of equal diameter to reduce the chances of them developing slip claw. And no bushes for easy cleaning whilst more birds are in there

    Y do u use baycox

    • @OCAVIARY
      @OCAVIARY  3 года назад

      Baycox is a medication for coccidiosis which is an infection in the intestine caused by a ‘worm’ in affect. This can cause birds to die so baycox is my chosen medication to prevent it
