- You know how the classic trilogy of Sonic games had a medley of all of the zones after you beat the game? Well...what if Sonic Mania had that, but in the good old Megadrive style?
This was really fun to make and I hope you enjoy it!

The cuts are so smooth makes you feel its just one song, its truly incredible tbh
At the time of making that medley I didn't know how change the tempo mid-song so I just kinda had to work with only one tempo lmao

It uses the same instruments since it’s an ice zone but it’s the same motif
There is a reason why GHZ, CPZ, HZ, OOZ, and FBZ don't change much if at all: They are already originated from the Genesis. Green Hill, Chemical Plant, Hydrocity, and Flying Battery keep their orignal credits arrangement from Sonic 1, 2, and 3&K respectively. Oil Ocean got a little extended, but kept its S1/S2 soundfont.

P.S. I love the work you've done here. So many zone medleys that I find are just the zones in the same order that they're in in game, when in the classic games, the medleys would be varied and you didn't know which song would come next. Thank you for going with the more classic feel. ☺

Okay i actually adore how you recreated the themes for the genesis games yourself, and I cannot get enough of the transition between Press Garden and Hydrocity. My only sorta complaint is the way Lava Reef ended, where it cut off too early. The Original opted to draw out the last note, which i see as nicer. The rest of this makes me giddy.
This deserves more views. This has too much to like about it for it to have this little views. I commend your work 👍
Yeah looking back on it now I definitely could have ended it differently. Overall it doesn't sound great to me now since I've gotten much more experience since, but I really appreciate that you like it despite the fact it's pretty old now

This is really great. Pleased to see that the zones aren't in order too, the original medley's prioritised what would mix well over zone order.
im pretty sure sonic 1 used the prototype zone order but i cant be sure

Awesome! At the end of the Chemical Plant segment and during the Flying Battery segment, the backing instruments are a bit flat and a fair bit loud respectively, but still incredible!
Yeah looking back to this one, knowing what I know now, there was a lot I could have done better, but hey I'm glad it's still enjoyable. For example, I didn't know how to bend notes so the end of the chemical plant segment was messed up in the process, but now I can do that just fine if I were to ever go back and remaster this

Sonic games follow the prototype zone order so does that mean that is the original zone order
I don't think that's true
Sonic 1's credits start with Green Hill, then goes to Labyrinth, Marble, Star Light, Scrap Brain, then Spring Yard, and I'd be surprised if Spring Yard was supposed to be the last zone.
I don't know why I went into that just to say that this is not the original zone order
So by that logic, Sonic 2's original zone order would be metropolis, emerald hill, chemical plant, hidden palace, aquatic ruin, mystic cave, oil ocean (in the prototypes, casino night 2p is oil ocean's track), tropical sun (or secret jungle), hill top, casino night?
Great remixes but I feel like the classic zones should’ve maybe used their act 2 renditions to differentiate them from the originals
Yeah I didn't really consider that when I made this. If one day I remake this then I want to try doing that, and keeping every theme in the original temp because I didn't know how to change on the fly at the time. I also didn't know how to slide notes so Chemical Plant sounds butchered

I do plan on doing that at some point. Covering the new mania songs is overdue at this point
