Iberostar Cozumel, Review and Island excursions

Our Family Traveled to Cozumel Iberostar on multiple occasions and we stayed in this beautiful gem, this hotel is beyond words, from super friendly stuff to a nice smaller complex that you can walk in minutes to all attractions. The resort is incredible something like on the postcard I promise if you will come with Family you will not be bored, and Star friends has been best carrying team for your little ones if you’ll need a break for yourself, they keep them entertained. We have a daughter 5-year-old and she had a blast with them involved in entertaining games and activities.
The buffet in the resort is excellent with variety of foods for all taste buds fresh and nicely appealing to the eye, decorated with huge selection of the deserts. All the staff in this resort that we have met working in the restaurant, room service, gardeners, management, reception and entertainment crew the best I have ever encountered during my travels south. We are regular travellers for past 11 years, and we have visited a lot of resorts and this resort by far is number 1.
The Lobby itself is very cozy to sit down in the evening after sapper with a cup of coffee or a drink in your hand, offering little convenience store on site for all your small needs. As You exit the lobby area, you’ll be welcomed in the miniature sort of like Zoo, botanical garden where you will see flamingos little turtles iguanas and colorful parrots the green fallow on the video is Pepe and he can talk a little. My daughter had a blast with him. As you exit to the right of the lobby there is theater with stunning night shows that crew goes an extra mile to keep the guests entertained. All the shows are worth every minute there, these people are working very hard to deliver them. Once a week there is Fire show down at the beach at dusk, it is jaw dropping as well, I have some short clips in this footage. I wish I could use original soundtracks but unfortunately due to possible copy right strikes on RUclips decided not to. The choreography and tricks these people are performing gets you excited. A bit further down few nights a week you can buy souvenirs so you don’t have to leave the resort.
The Villas that you will be staying have special character and that’s what I like most about this resort feels so exotic and natural, instead of huge hotel building. Each Villa has 4 - 6 suites that are nicely set up with fridge nice shower always warm water after a day at the beach and comfortable beds. The rooms are not huge but more than enough for three of us even family of 3 kids will not have any issue.
If you are traveling with little ones there is on site playground for kids as well, so they are able to drop some energy while there. Just a bit further down a beautiful pool area with daily entertainment for adults and kids. All Bars on the properly have excellent refreshment drinks, if you’ll come often bartenders will remember what you drink don’t forget to tip as all the stuff is really worth something that will show that they are appreciated. The Pool area is very nice and the lunch buffet at the pool is really good on top of that they sometimes there is a barbecue next to the bar with burgers or another finger food. At the pool you can try free scuba diving if you want, at the same time there is fantastic dive shop on site just few steps from the room Dressel Divers if You are Nitrox certified you can be provided with free Nitrox for your dives for the price of regular dives. At the dock they have all the dive boats very nice and spacious for divers and as any diver knows diving in Cozumel is something that keeps you coming back to that part of Mexico. I used to do two dives each morning while staying there and I did 2-night dives. One of my favorite dive sites is Punta Sur but all dive sites are equally beautiful full of spectacular coral reef and marine life. If you like to explore the wreck, there is a wreck dive C53 covered in one of the videos on this channel. You’ll find also few dives from Cozumel with that Dive team.
The Beach area is very nice you’ll easily find a space and the beach lounge chair, no rush to reserve early in the morning. The beach area has a separate bar at the beach for your refreshments. The beach is sandy with small amount of corals on the sand but if you are going to swim bring your water booties as it is very rocky bottom, that did not bother us at all.

nice video. thank you for showing the resort! do you know if they regularly offer trips to chicheniza, uxmal etc.? and if these trips are affordable?

Yes they do but that's not the location for these excursion's as it is on the Island if you want to book these I recommend something near playa more affordable. Cozumel is a scuba paradise and only few excursions on the island. One of them is st gervacio ruins and the other Punta Sur beach few ATV adventures and water park

Does kids stay for free?

I'm not sure always had to buy a ticket for my daughter cost less then adult but not sure if that's just a flight or total package. It was not broken down on invoice

It is great place for kids, pool and beach is safe animals around the resort
