Hi there! Thank you for this wonderful video. Just a tip. According to the designer of the Jewel Loom, you are supposed to remove the rod after you string the warps, before you begin weaving. That increases the tension and keeps the threads tight.
The instructions also say to tie the end of the thread inside the top left button of the loom, not the button on the back. I guess they both will work…..we shall see! 😅
You definitely explain this much much better than the original creator of the loom..you show each step (even something as simple as threading your needle) and you do it at a NORMAL pace. You also string it much easier thanks so much!
I wanted to add, this is the 3rd loom I've bought in several weeks. It's the least expensive AND the easiest to set up. Friends, pls don't think that because it looks simple that it is no good. It's great.
Thanks Julie! We're not the makers of the Jewel Loom but we do love it, we've been specializing in it for years, actually pretty much ever since we made this first tutorial video you just watched!
I am finally going to start using my Jewel Loom, which I have had for several years now. I am, indeed, grateful for this tutorial. And I will watch more!
This video saved my sanity! Working with two hole tile beads and removing the rod, consistently caused my bracelet to buckle when removed from the loom. By leaving the rod in, the tension was perfect and the bracelet lay smoothly when removed.
Well I just started and I got some beginner beads I say that because I see that not all beads are created the same ugh! First project will be a book maker, ugh
I wondered about that. I watched a bunch of videos from beadalon about this jewel loom and they leave the metal rod in. The instruction book that came with my loom has different instructions about how to set up the warp threads and it also says to remove that metal rod once the threads are in place and tied off. I've followed the instructions in this video. What I've noticed is after around two years the center of the loom is starting to weaken and at some point it's just going to snap. You can actually see fractures in the plastic of that center curve. When it finally gives out, I think I'm going to try the metal and wood combination loom. As nice and convenient as this loom is, I want something longer lasting that I only have to buy once.
@@saltycrowLucky!! I did 3 projects and the middle of my loom already has fractures and cracks. 🤷🤦I was wondering if anyone else had the same issue!? Thank you for confirming that it wasn't just me. 😆

I've had the same problem too. I think it's because of the tension, as you said. I did the next bracelet with looser tension and it seemed to make a difference. It's been trial and error, definitely!
I practice and I left the metal rod and when I remove from the loom it was not staight it has little waves in the project. Did I did wrong by leaving it? Thanks
I do wire working for jewelry and was curious if this would be good to use for 24,26, 28 gauge wire and beading. Can this be used with very thin wire as well?
+C. C. C I am not sure. I have never used this for wire so I cannot speak to if it will work or not. Definitely a try it and see situation. If it works come back and let us know, I'd love to see the results.
I've heard that these can break after 1 to 4 uses, is that still an issue or has that been fixed so that you don't need a new one all the time. I think that would get annoying fast. I want a loom I can use for several years at least before replacing.
We still have a jewel loom from around this time in our studio space, actually it might be the same loom. Over the years we've sold a ton of these, and there have been some bad batches which we're always happy to replace, but from what we've seen they can and usually do last for years. If you want to be extra cautious do what we tend to do and leave in the bar, it's quite possible to get good tension without it and it makes a good handle.
I just started this project and your video was very helpful. but there is one thing I don't understand. Why don't you go back through the previous row to connect your rows together? One side of my project is together because that is the side the needle come in and out of, but the other side can be pulled apart. Am I supposed to weave the project together at the end of the project?
I see what you mean. You do not have to go through the other side to "tie it up". Whichever clasp you use should hold it together. For example see our Loom Kits and the clasp used there as well. We have a full video showing you how to finish it off and the rows sit snuggly so that this should not be problematic. Hope this helps! www.beadaholique.com/jewelry-making-kits/exclusive-beadaholique-kits
Your tutorial was great. I am currently experiencing uneven seed beads results in my edges to be uneven. To cover the uneven issue; I have decided to add embellishments. Do you have any other recommendations or suggestions on how I can prevent the uneven seed beads?
Stephanie Miller If the seed beads themselves are uneven, then the edge will be too unfortunately. I have not used elastic cord on a loom before. It's an interesting idea I think you would just need to be really careful that the elastic was at a relaxed state when you do your warp threads. If it's at all being pulled, your piece will not look right when you take it off the loom (will probably look great while you are making it).
U forgot to remove the metal rod to it tightens the worp threads. I know this because I watch a different video with the person who designed this loom. Not only that there is a secondary securing method which I didn’t do and now I will have to be really care full removing my project.

you need to remove the rod once you have strung to put the tension on the threads. The creator of the loom has a video here: ruclips.net/video/Hs3JLbrNbXE/видео.html

My jewel loom has a crack in the middle. Is that possible?
It's possible for them to crack with age but with good care they should last for years like any high quality plastic tool. If you purchased the jewel loom from us at Beadaholique just recently and had it crack contact us at service@beadaholique.com and we'll see if we can help
@@beadaholique bought it in one of thw suppliers in South Africa 3 months back
where do you get all the loom stuff from
I want this
Bought one a couple weeks ago and it's cracked in the middle already. But have six projects done on it.
Hi Harold, sorry to hear about your loom. If you bought it from us at Beadaholique please email us at service@beadaholique.com we'd like to help.
@@beadaholique no I didn't. Duct tape works magic though. Haha
I want to know the type of thread 😢
You can use Nymo or TOHO One-G thread - they both work well for loom work.
How do I end it meaning how do I tie it off
I recommend our video on finishing loom work. Here is a link: beadaholique.com/products/how-to-finish-off-traditional-loom-work-and-add-a-slider-clasp

What type of beads do I use if I want them symmetrical?
+max17937 Miyuki Delicas are definitely the way when you need symmetry and precision. You can see Megan start to weave with 10/0 size Delicas around the 6:45 mark of this video.

I'm not sure where you can buy one in New York. Many craft stores and bead stores carry them if you're looking to support your local businesses. If you don't have any craft stores near you then you can always buy one online from us: beadaholique.com/products/beadalon-jewel-loom-kit-weave-necklaces-bracelets-and-more

mine is not flexible as this one. Very hard to put in the rod
If you purchased the loom from us recently, please send us an email with your order information to service@Beadaholique.com. Your order may be eligible for a replacement if the loom you have is defective. Thank you.
Mine did not come in a zip up pouch.
My loom didn’t have the plastic bag when I bought it.
There are two version of the loom on the market now. The kit version which you see in the video includes the plastic carrying pouch and a needle and thread. There's also a less expensive version which only includes the loom. It sounds like you may have bought the less expensive version.
If you bought your loom from us at Beadaholique though and you didn't received the plastic carrying pouch please let our customer service team know. We only sell the kit version so you should have received the pouch with it. Our customer service team can be reached via email at: service@beadaholique.com
Price....loom
Has anyone used elastic cord on the loom to make a bracelet?
I have not used elastic cord on a loom before. It's an interesting idea I think you would just need to be really careful that the elastic was at a relaxed state when you do your warp threads. If it's at all being pulled, your piece will not look right when you take it off the loom (will probably look great while you are making it).
Thanks, I think I will give it a try when I have some time.
U forgot to remove the metal rod to it tightens the worp threads. I know this because I watch a different video with the person who designed this loom. Not only that there is a secondary securing method which I didn’t do and now I will have to be really care full removing my project.
Thank you
What the tyep of this yarn

I wish there was a loom for 15/0 seeds 😢 I need smaller teeth
Oh! That's really interesting. I wonder how you can still make it work? I will do some experimenting and if I can come up with anything, I will share.
@@beadaholique I made it work by making the threads not as tight and starting the project closer to the middle so the threads have the room to come closer together, if you know what I mean 😄 But it sure would be nicer to have a loom that is dedicated to even smaller beads! Thank you for reading my comment 🥰
you need to remove the rod once you have strung to put the tension on the threads. The creator of the loom has a video here: ruclips.net/video/Hs3JLbrNbXE/видео.html
+DeeLightful Co Personally, I've tried both ways, and definitely keeping the rod on. The wires loosen up and one of them even went over one groove at one point. Believe me it's not funny having to start all over again and waste thread.
