- Want to really annoy people? Well I do.
I'm going to show you how to always be typing in Discord. People will think you are typing out a dream tweet or finishing part two of the bible. You're basically infinitely typing after watching this throwback tutorial.
NOTE: This is technically against Discord's TOS, use at your own risk. Don't cry in my DMs if you abuse this so much you get banned.
Also you know how I said I like annoying people, well teaching you this will get people mad at me which is hehe funny.

When you open up insomnia, click new collection. Then you should have the same screen as me.
You can copy the network request as cURL (from chrome network console) and paste it into the URL bar in insomnia.
Regarding useragent vs no useragent. Some people say it will reduce your ban chance, I don’t have data to back it up but sure whatever helps you sleep at night. To be honest, you can be banned regardless. Use this at your own risk and don’t do this for a super long period of time, all the time.

Did this works for hidden channels like admin channels or else?
I had a macro and I did this on a public server. Basically it would type a a certain amount of times then delete it a certain amount of times in the discord text box thing. and I got banned from it
Why would the chance be low for someone being banned for doing this? If I had a User that was spamming my server (aka, a suspected DoS attempt), I'd temp ban them. If it continued, I'd perma-ban them. Maybe even turn them into the authorities.
Don't be stupid and do something like this. It's retarded and literally does nothing for you other than make you look stupid.

That's the fastest I've ever seen anybody explain APIs and interacting with them, all for "haha funni typing indicator." Thanks for always helping dumb down what is sometimes the biggest and scariest things Discord has to offer. ♥
I highly recommended playing around with the API through a wrapper like Pycord, it's really nice to be able to build things.

There is a way to avoid getting your account disabled: add every single header, especially the User-agent, so Discord thinks that you're using the client.
where is see every header?
I've been doing this method since last year and have it let is run for over a month straight and I've never gotten banned. Literally a month straight.

quick tip: copying the request as curl (bash) and pasting in url part of insomnia does headers and stuff automatically

I always set it up in discord app console using ctrl + shift + I , with the functions and intervals and whatnot but this looks way easier (less typing). Thanks NTTS!

fun fact: once i tried this with a loop in the browser console without delay and it gets your account temporarily locked for 1 hour so always add the delay

Channel ids can also just be taken from the actual link of the channel you're in, just get the last string of numbers in the link when you have the channel open and you have the id

This is the ultimate way to become the undisputed Forever Typing champion on Discord
The "Legal" way to do this would be to use a macro since macros aren't against TOS ( assuming you don't go overboard with it). You could make a simple python script using pyautogui but the drawback is that you'd always have to have that channel open.

@@parknich081 my room mate had a macro on discord to level up on a server he was in for "talking" but discord banned our router's ip for 24 hrs, i think they do this as a warning ban so i wldnt risk it. the macro wasnt even on for more than 5 hours before we got api banned

I made a python script a number of years ago that did this for every discord channel I was in.
I ran it for over a week lol, I remember talking to some admins about it and how annoying they found it
I laughed, then I got bored
I used to do this two years ago in one of my friend’s servers. After learning about how to autosend messages, I did experimenting with other posts (without any prior experience to be honest.) I ended up finding the typing post, and I think I spammed the signal every 7.5 seconds.

Just an FYI, this bans you because of you spamming the discord API with requests. The same reason you might get terminated for mass deleting messages using a tool, which also spams the API.

@@gowtherliones8999 the spamming is not the issue (although do try to send the requests slowly, so discord doesn't see that someone is clicking 100 buttons per second and doesn't get suspicious ... it helps)
the reason you get banned is in creating your discord account you promised to only do things by hand and never let a bot or tool use your account.
So if you break that promise and discord finds out, they WILL ban you.
That's not spamming the api, library's like dpy has a feature of doing this which isn't spamming the api nor will get you ratelimited. While this is close to self botting, the api request is the same for a bot and a user

which is confusing, but i take it to mean any account that is automated better be a designated bot, or will be terminated if found.

This would also work with Postman, whose interface is a little more complicated than Insomnia's, but gives you more help and makes it more clear what you're doing.

Why don't you try it yourself? First, do it in a private channel and obviously don't let it run forever. If it is equivalent to you typing on discord every few hours then maybe you can try it on other channels without worrying about your account's safety

I remember seeing a friend of mine back in 2017 have this happen to him accidentally for like 2 weeks so i screen shot the "Fade is typing..." and photoshopped it to say "Fade is still f*cking typing..." and i would send him that everytime i saw him typing in any discord

should be a copy as cURL option, if you on linux you just paste that command into a terminal and wrap it in a while/sleep loop and you should be good to go. also copies the headers so you dont get banned

I am not really sure Discord is dumb enough to rely off of request headers to check if someone is botting. If I'm not mistaken there are some operating systems that won't send some headers.
