- I hate videos like this, because any Tom, dick or Harry now has a platform to air their "'opinions" and most of them are just plain flat out wrong, with the person in the video having zero experience much less expertise on the topic he's talking about. I am on a crusade to rid the internet of these types of blatantly wrong information of the blind leading the blind.

For stock ecu remapping is adjusting air fuel ratio and unlock the rpm limit to maximun and if you change your muffler to avoid backfire
I really hate those types of local internet bloggers. There are plenty of them. Instead they should think of other stuff to do rather than spreading shit information.

Does anyone from this group have a remapped vehicle here that have lasted over 200k km?
There's a lot of vloggers and influencers out there talking and making a lot of videos about remapping that messes up your vehicle but they never experienced their cars to be remapped at all! Or had their car remapped by a backyard/junkyard copy/paster tuner! Tsk! Tsk! Tsk!
Correct me if i'm wrong. If remapping is bad, how do you explain a 1.5L turbo engine of an accord generates more hp than a civic's engine. Simple explanation, manufacturers are doing what speedlab is doing. They are just tweeking their engines to put out more hp rather than developing another engine to cope with the added weight of the accord's body. Same with the fortuner and innova. In the innova's case they de-tune it's 2.8L engine.
And yet that same 2.8 engine can be tuned up to 220whp. Matulin na innova kahit stock what more kung same power like the fortuner gr-s
I know you guys work mostly on gasoline cars and diesel but I have a question regarding motorcycles. My question is, when a motorcycle engine is mapped lean out of the box and is equipped with a narrowband O2 and you decide change the exhaust system to a full-sys (more open, cat delete), will that change the fueling to go even leaner than before and possibly brick your engine? Or will it go the other way around and run rich?

My ranger 2017 model was remap by speedlab during pandemic with their borla exhaust and till now still going good., with no engine problem, performance wise napakagaan dalhin..talagang satisfied ako. Thanks speedlab.❤
I've had my explorer twin turbo remapped by Speedlab, and Borla exhaust, what a difference 60whp gained, with no check engine light.

Speedlab, maybe a dumb question but ill ask it anyway.. after remapping, do we need to check/maintain the reprogrammed ECU after a certain number of km driven or months?

There are car manufacturers that detune the performance of their vehicles to lower cost but that is not the optimal setup for it.

No. It like you working out wearing tsinelas and Sandio, then you wear heavy work boots and a backpack . Your still the same strength but your carrying a heavier load
Engines built today even the past decades are so overbuilt that some even have the Factor of safety greater than 2 to 3. Its an allowance for engine to be use in rough condition. Learned it from studying mechanical engineering. All moving components are designed to support and hold stresses higher than engines power rating.

If it's possible to double performance without any downside, why do manufacturers tune so conservatively? Being more aggressive with the tune would benefit them from a marketing standpoint. I'm genuinely curious and not trying to argue.
its business, so they still have room for improvement without designing new engine whenever their competitor upgrade theirs

The stock hose holds boost fine
Upgrading to an aluminum one ensures the rubber one never breaks

From what I understand, remapping aims to achieve better results compared to the stock settings. Essentially, you're targeting improved performance, so it's puzzling why some people still believe that this always involves compromises. I mean, who thinks that way? Unless the remap was done incorrectly or by someone inexperienced, there shouldn't be an issue. If you're familiar with SpeedLab and have been following their videos (and truly grasp what they're explaining), then it's not hard to trust what they do. Peace out!

Japanese manufactures not recommended to readjust the setting bcoz of performance standard value of engine is tested and proven for many years of industry of engine even u read the "Manual" reliable and durable long life of engine is reason. It's choice to adjust to more power but more stress in engine if engine always stress what happen to your engine?
ever heard of the 90s car manufacturer gentleman's agreement? japanese cars were built for more than 300hp but detuned to 270HP comply with japanese government. meaning to say, you engine remap is based on your country's emissions and safety regulation.

Ngayon! Kung I modify yang kotse mo or engine mo for a remap, iBang usapan yon. There is a tendency that your engine na masira matagalan, unlike sa nka stock lang recommended by company engineer.
