My Dad David Backway use to work on the boats on the quay in Bideford and now my nephew works for Babcock and Geoffry Cox our elected MP is hardly doing anything to help keep the Appledore ship yard open. Save our ship yards.
Ship is the "Nonsuch" built at Hinks's boatyard in 1969 to mark an anniversary of the Hudson Bay Company; it was sent to Canada and is now in a museum in Winnipeg.

As a child I remember being on an outing at Appledore ship yard and watching a restoration of this ship!
