It’s basically the theme of “The Million Pound Bank Note” by Mark Twain. A broke guy is given a legit 1m bill of legal tender and everywhere he tries to spend it people give him the royal treatment just for having it, including comping his intended expenses.
It makes more sense with musicians obviously; a famous bass player can be a walking billboard for a bass or amp company.

It makes so much sense that they were amazing friends. When Flea is talking about how he can't read music but he puts his whole soul out there, it instantly makes me think of the way River acted. Totally self taught but just had 'IT', the way Flea is a brilliant musician. Two incredibly talented people.
Also, remember when famous people were famous because they were talented, and had something to offer the world?

I loved River and Flea's friendship/brotherhood. They clicked so well together. Even though Flea is like 7/8 years older, River was always the teacher. I also think they clicked so well cause of, obviously how River was a s a person, but also cause their desires were pretty similar. Flea wanted to be a well-known actor, but instead he's a well-known musician and River wanted to be a well-known musician, instead he was a well-known actor. So they just sorta, clicked. Much love to both of them🕊️❤️

Oh my gosh dude. These 2 dudes, Chad and Flea, so much chemistry it's insane.
    Love this video.
This video is my biggest musical inspiration of my LIFE. My dad gave me this video along with my first bass guitar when I was 13 years old. Changed my life.
I've prolly watched it 300 times AT LEAST.
It affirms my style as a musician.
I've always been an improve artist. Freestyle rapping and on the spot jamming. Straight impulsive creative music making has always been my primary playstyle. And alot of it, thanks to this video, is the reason why I came to know its okay for me to feel free to jam with total no hold bars freedom and creativity.
Thank you Flea and Chad and River for this video

River was playing the macho James Wright at the time in "The Thing Called Love" but if you watch that movie and compare it to the real person, you can see how different they are.

YESS many people don't understand the fact that that's what it was. When I was looking at this video, all I could think about was "James Wright"

@@sageantone7291 he was a misogynistic bully. There’s a scene where he boasts to Kyle about how good Miranda is in bed, just to assert his authority.

12:00 Flea may be a pompous rock star, however, Flea is doing Ernie Ball Music Man a way bigger favor vs the other way around. Flea thinks, wow I gotta free Bass, but it probably cost music Man a few bucks to make that bass. At that point in time, the internet hadn't really taken off yet and TV commercials/magazine ads aren't cheap. Solution, give a touring musician who's playing stadiums a few basses. Cheapest and most potent endorsement.

So... Is he just channeling the music?? is that right? Because he said he was trying to be a vehicle for the forces that were floating around the room... That is channeling! I did read that many musicians are just channelers and they channel the music from the spiritual world that we can't see!
Carlos Santana said he does that... He also said that Jimi Hendrix did that and Coltrane.
That makes me sad because it's not really them who are playing the music... It's just something (or someone) playing the music trough them (he is being the medium the vehicle) to reach us and give us the messages, the funk gospel if you..

"That makes me sad because it's not really them who are playing the music..."
Don't be sad, be happy that there are people who can make us feel Paradise through them.

That's how it is, musicians/artists/directors/actors, they're just filters of higher energies of creativity that inspire us
