I love explore un'goro so much that I often catch myself opening hearthstone just to play it some more. Horrible bad card, but my god is it fun.

If you do not have barnes on 4 and a full hand then just renounce, what is the point of waiting till barnes shows up at 10 mana and you are already half dead?
Hey Kripp, I've actually had reasonable luck with my C'Thun renounce darkness deck. There are a lot of C'thun interactions from other classes that add to synergy. It typically runs low cost warlock minons that you don't mind getting rid of in the late game but is effective in the early game. The C'Thun cards are for a more consistent gameplan as well. Cult Master is also a good addition for the draw.
Would like to see a deck list of this.
renounce variations:
Strong neutrals with barnes and draw make for interesting consistencies, so all around neutral legendaries often work well. also putting in synergy tribe cards can give the class change options.
The version here is the barnes, end turn pop out your ten ten and then renouce, but the deck largely has inconsistencies. However, Renouce deck with a draw mechanic and neutrals make for better consistency, but sometimes the random cards are just rap, and like me versus mode I have had people just storm over me, with aggressive cards, that cost less. There able to play them all.
One time i played Renounce darkness to fill my deck with nice non-Warlock cards. But all i got back was Paladin cards like Light's justice and Redemption. What a dumb card
I'd say that it isn't a dumb card, because it's a pretty unique and clever design, it's just a bad card
If you believed in the heart of the cards, your winrate would be better.

did they fix renounce? wasnt it supposed to reduce the card from your deck (if it is the class you got) no matter where you got it from?

@Kripp: Nice idea with Y'Shaarj, but U NEED to play a Renounce Zoo-Deck: In my experience, thats the only way to reach a decent win rate. A fun try (that is quite strong) is an Elemental Renounce Warlock: U take 14 Elementals (the best ones from 1 to 7, two per crystal) and 16 Warlock spells including "Renounce Darkness". Very funny gameplay. Tricky - and even able to WORK!
Maybe play Renounce early as possible is better , get 1 mana less on random card is still better than run after cleaning the board 6 turns in a row ?

I don't always get matched with Y'Shaarj Renouncelocks, but when I do they always have Barnes on turn 4 followed by Renounce
A true player would always coin out renounce turn 1...
I definitely think the Renounce Darkness deck was better last year with the other expansions available. Mine was basically a modified Discard-lock deck which relied on cards like Malchezar's Imp to draw R.D from its effect, now though a lot of strong discard cards are gone like Dark Bargain and it lacks a lot of the power it used to. Perhaps if I reworked the deck into a demon centric deck or one based around Deathrattles work better but for the time being i'm not sure.

I was unable to buy any packs when ungoro came out so I just played my Golden renounce Barnes combo deck. First 7 games I swear to god I never drew either renounce, lost every game. Went back to it later and went 5-0 with some of my all time favorite games. Truly a crazy card I'm happy it's in the game

I've been playing this game and watching kripp vids for over 2 years and have never even heard of that shadow of nothing card let alone seen it.

Recent arena i had what could of been a great deck but ended up just being full of huge board clears, but renounce darkness won me nearly every game.
Get to late game with board clears then renounce and always pull a good combo because my deck was full of warlock cards.
The problem with this deck is if you not luck enouth to get card draw you run out of steam really quick
Barnes combo is good on turn 4, but if you wait half of the game to get it while doing nothing, trying to survive and simultaneously tapping yourself to death you are not going to get far
This is my favorite deck to play. I don't go beyond rank 10 but I can still destroy every type of archetype out there (with the nuts draws of course).
Got inspired of this and made a budget-version with some epics replaced.
I renounced as warrior on my first 3 games... And got 2 or 3 "tentacle for arms in my hand" -.-
I just crafted this deck, costed me ~5000 dust but I hope I can get some wins with it ! Thanks for the deck Krippo ! :D

There are some interesting new fatigue and mill decks out there.
When Un'Goro came out I immediately added Renounce to a Warlock quest deck because I thought discarding a hand of 6 with renounce would count.
Unfortunately Blizzard dashed my hopes.

I tried that deck without barnes and Y'shaarj at rank 15 and actually got rank 14 with it (win condition was to renounce when i have 10 cards and get lucky i guess)

I used to like renounce as basically I got 400 wins with it. In ungoro there is to many synergies that it just does not work out. RIP Renounce Darkness.
I did this deck a while back, ended up getting 3 Tirion's in a single game once.

A buddy of mine went renounce jaraxis. Boy went 15-0 in casual. We lost our minds but he really knows how to play that deck I guess

That secret mage deck is actually not shitty at all. I had a 9-2 blast on ladder with that deck.

I managed to get to rank 10 with my renounce deck, which is pretty impressive since I don't play ranked that much, and that's the highest I've ever got in ranked
so, i was just casually playing some dungeon run against spirit speaker azure (2x deathrattle) and sat here for half an hour waiting for some val'anyrs to trigger, and ended up with a 3074/1540 grove tender... yeah

Ah yes, the classic Renounce Darkness > Discover Darkness play
I made a Renounce Darkness deck with Reno, Kazakus, and Kruul and it's better than this :) You play like regular with Renolock with extra Demon synergy. And then you have Renounce Darkness as your final push and last resort.
For this deck to work, you need to cram it with early game and good cards, not random shit.
Before renouncing, you have to make sure you are the one in control of the board

It feels worse in this rotation than the previous one to me. Still good fun overall.
I prefer to go for a build that's heavy in neutral card draws and plays a sort of wannabe-zoo until Renounce can be gotten. It's an okay alternative for those who don't have y'shaarj.
renounce warlock is the only warlock deck i play. I run two of them and discard my opening hand to get one. Play them as soon as possible and stay rank 18 forever.
I've won quite a few games with renouncelock actually. Not saying its a good deck since its based entirely on luck but js.

Really, in wild i went to rank 10 with renounce darnkness deck pretty easly, later on I just died to a lot of aggro decks. THe main thing is that all this random stuff is very fun
