I think feeding the homeless is a great idea for a first date! I love it! I think that demonstrates thoughtfulness on multiple levels… that doesn’t mean we can’t go out to eat afterwards… like what?! Do yal treat yourselves inside & out the way you expect some men to treat you?! I’m confused why there’s a problem with this when you say that’s what you like to do…. I think mentally some truly have their minds crossed….. if a man is willing to help those who cannot give something in return, it demonstrates good character & heart …. There’s nothing wrong with feeding the homeless but as a first date it’s not the way to go. Maybe as a 3rd or 4th date and both of you figured out you both like doing charity type stuff but a first date should be something easy like coffee or a middle of the road resturant like chilis or Olive Garden
Feeding the homeless isn’t it for a first date idea. Maybe down the road you and your partner can go and feed the homeless if both of you are into charity work but I would run in the other direction if a guy suggested that as a first date idea because it sets the bar in hell for low effort
It's not a typically first date idea but I would prefer this over dinner. I personally, would not have been offended if my now husband suggested this as a first date/meetup. The reason is because I would have been able to gather A LOT of information about him by this suggestion. He could possibly reveal something about His character (caring, thoughtful, compassionate, selfless), and it would give me a better idea of how he is able to interact with his community and people around him. If a woman is just casually dating, sure get ALL of the expensive meals and fine dining that you want. BUT that gives you VERY little information about a mans character. For the woman looking for a husband, paying attention to that man's character is key!
On the second date with the man I'm married to now, what impressed me most was his heart for people he did not know. We walked into a corner store and I noticed that he kept trying to break large bills into smaller bills. I asked him, "Why don't you just save the large bills that you have?" He responded saying, "When I see someone in need of a few dollars, I would like to be prepared to give it." That was the most attractive trait I learned about him and it still shows up to this day! He is such kind and generous husband and soon to be father. Just something to consider when dating!
@@jaimecca6259Exactly sis. My husband displayed his generosity in that aspect from the start of our relationship. He always stopped to give cash, he’s bought food and even given clothes off of his body to those in need. Those actions showed his heart to me.
I agree, @Iam_Celene. I’m glad my husband didn’t do this as a first date. It comes down to personality and preference. I like calm and prefer to talk to someone and get to know them that way-not engage in an activity. And that’s okay. When you don’t know someone, it’s best to err on the side of caution for a first date. I don’t think this W that preferring not to feed the homeless as a first date, especially since she already does this monthly, suddenly makes her unholy and wretched. And let’s be honest as believers: there are not many Black Christian men to fumble when most of the Black church is comprised of women, not men. Meaning, most Black Christian women will not find a Black American Christian husband. She will either remain single, marry a Christian man of another race, or settle for a man that openly says he’s Christian but secretly covets men, underaged kids, po*n, lying about being single, 🎉and all manner of sexual proclivities. And unless we plan on shaming Paul (in the Bible) for choosing to remain single, we should stop shaming singlehood. I love my husband, but I can serve God as a single person-Paul even argues that a believer can focus more on the things of God that way.

I'd assume she wanted to be catered to for her first date ...patience probably could have gotten her everything she ever needed from a Man but she closed that door early.
