    Amazing video and what damper setting do u use on the gyro between the 8 of them and also what is your gain set for channel 3?

    • @RollingGarageRc
      @RollingGarageRc  Год назад +5

      I can offer an update on this based off further testing. The 8 damper levels corresponds to what you have the actual damper setting at. For example, if your damper setting is low from 0-10 it will set it at level 1. If your damper setting is in the middle around 20-25 it will be on level 4 and if your damper setting is set high at 40-50 it will be on level 8. If you change damper levels 1-8, your damper setting will be automatically adjusted to a setting in that range 0-50. Think of the damper levels 1-8 as an "easy damper setting"

    I just spent 2 hours driving my two Sakura D5mr chassis's. One with a 550/ct500 combo the other a yokomo v4/sp-02Dv2. I've come up with a baseline for 550 owners that roughly matches the yokomo v4 gyro in normal / soft (green) mode.
    Mode : Norm
    Damper : 21
    Point : 29
    St-control : 35
    Tail-slide speed: 27
    I'm running the gyro at 90/120 on a tight concrete surface and bump it up to 100/120 on a large slick epoxy track.
    Hope this gives anyone struggling a good baseline.

    Thank you for taking the time in making this video and making it easy to understand. Was having trouble since I’m only on a Futaba 3PV and will eventually get a 4pm or up to fine tune but at least I got the thing in reverse so it will actually drive properly.

    • @RollingGarageRc
      @RollingGarageRc  Год назад +1

      Glad it helped you but I’m not sure I would use it with a 3PV since you won’t be able to access any of the settings on the gyro and the gyro may not function well.

    Currently I run a gyd550 with a ct500 servo in my main car and a dp-302v4 gyro with sp-02Dv2 servo in my backup car. The futaba setup is infinitely adjustable which can be a blessing and a curse. I find myself tinkering with the gyro and servo settings all the time, it almost always drives great but I definitely feel a bit of option paralysis. The yokomo setup is plug and play, just works. The servo is programmable but I've never found the need, just plug it all in and set the gain to a comfortable level.
    I would definitely recommend the yokomo setup to all but the most advanced users.

    • @RollingGarageRc
      @RollingGarageRc  Год назад +2

      Definitely agree. Have seen a few people pick up the 550 only to go back to the V4 a week later because they couldn’t figure it out. Hopefully this video can help future GYD550 users and was also looking to make a Yokomo V4 video when I can.

      Totally agree and that happened to me as well. My gyd550 and ct700 are now sitting on the shelf… but due to this video… I now feel much more confident as I totally could not understand the manual’s explanation and here in Singapore, the amount of people who use Gyd550 I can count with 1 hand

    Late to the party but wanted to share an additional step. Once the limit on the gyro is set, go to the steering end point on the TX and turn it down until the steering throw matches the front wheel movement; for example, my steering end point (left and right) on my TX is currently set to 60.
    Skipping this step could make the steering feel too fast.
    This also needs to be adjusted whenever steering settings are changed on the links, servo, and gyro.
    Otherwise good video and thank you for the resource.

  • @DJ.1001
    @DJ.1001 10 месяцев назад

    The damper settings on the gyro accessed via the button are not separate. It is simply just preset levels of the damper settings accessed via s.bus programming.
    If you change the damper setting on the gyro via the button and then re-enter s.bus programming you will see the damper number change to reflect the setting you manually entered.

    You do not need 400-700 dollar controller to use this gyro! Good video but for people just getting into the hobby this is so false. With all respect, you can use this gyro with a futaba 3pv or an even cheaper one. It will still work flawlessly, you just can't use all is settings.
