Antonio I'm 46 so I got away from backpacks years ago. But last fall I ripped my small leather and canvas bag and needed a quick replacement. So staying with the leather and canvas theme I purchased a Duluth style pack. Very versatile and with quality hardware. Cost about $200 which was one of the cheapest from the manufacturers. It's comfortable and I get complements on how nice it is.
As an Architect who often uses backpacks, I really like the classy leather version. However, the most practical bag for me would be a compartmentalized, leather MESSENGER bag with some type of small fold-in flap on the side of the top front lap to protect computers and sketches. Always enjoy your articles. Thank you!
Great video today. My backpack is for school purposes where I have 7-10 books at a time in there so I need something built for destruction and carrying heavy loads. I think you should make a separate video talking about the importance of carrying your bag correctly and not over filling it because that will seriously hurt your back. Have a nice day Antonio.
I bought a military Tactile Backpack online and I'm a civilian but know it's rugged. It's 45 Liters. It had a chest and waist buckle. The material is cordura and is waterproof. It has a buckle over the compartments. It's very comfortable! And ies $38 online
I was looking for a backpack and Im already subscribed so when I came across this video I just laughed and said of course my man Antonio had a video already
I’ve got a tough leather backpack that i take to work. Heavy, but it Fits my needs and I can be rough with it and it’ll still holds up. Getting a nice patina and it smells great!
I just ordered this Kattee Canvas Backpack as a everyday backpack for word in order to carry stuff like headphones, a small lunchbox, a water bottle, keys and some cables. For cables, battery banks and stuff like this, I own a grid-it system and I think this is the best everyday option, it's comfortable, stylish and a bag like this has personality when it ages. I really don't like all these tech bags, because it looks like all these are made in the same factory somewhere in China, just with different branding. Thanks for this video, really helpful!
After so long of using backpacks and hurting my back, I decided to go with the messenger bag. Nobody uses it in my high school and I have been able to pull it off with style and ease, along with a being a bit unique in such a pale environment. #stylish thug life

If your back hurts after carrying a backpack.. you should seriously consider doing deadlifts to improve your back strength, buddy.
Luke Moore you name is a combination of Luke Brian and Justin Moore in that order, your parents are Awesome!! just saying two of my favorite Country artist's in one name.
perfect timing for this video, I was just looking into a new backpack, but I haven't bought one yet and this helped me out a lot. Thanks for the video!
+Real Men Real Style I suggest something with autumn season coming up, since it's right around the corner. Perhaps purchasing new jeans, quality jackets or coats, or pair of boots. Perhaps even hairstyles for autumn. Thanks for asking!
Antonio, I was wondering if you could please tell me which backpack is in the photo at the 1:27 point in the video. I can't find it on Kattee, so I was wondering if you could help me out.
Just a small correction, not all Nylon is created equally, 1000D nylon is ten times stronger than canvas. It is military grade material made specifically for being extremely tough.
I had this bag for 3 years before it broke on me :) It was awesome. The downside, I got tired of the buckles, especially when I doubled up on classes and had to sprint from one class to the next. I'm tired of the look now, so I want something different, but I'm having trouble finding something. Loved the bag, but it's time for a change.
Gotta say I love your videos man! High quality, to the point and always really professional. Thanks for taking your time to do things like this, it really helps fasion-stunted people like me!
This guy is great! I'd walk away too! Lol as an engineering student I have difficulty finding a decent sized backpack for my school stuff. I settled on a Muzee rucksack that seems to be handling alright. I prefer canvas bags.
I really want something to bring around with me in my small town and Yosemite. I bought a messenger bag from Jack's Threads and I love it; Works awesome with my bike, but always looks out of place when bike riding in the boonies. Might just look into this
Great video and article, as usual! Thank you. I would like to share my experience about this subject. It's a very personal vision about this but like most of the itens between the categories "equipments and clothes", like shoes, the backpack must serve your needs about load capacity, match this to the style of where you are going and provide an ergonomic solution for you. There is no one backpack for all situations. I myself have done several "kits" to diferent activities. There is a "go home bag" in my car, a small EDC pack where i put inside any bag, there is my college bag, the standard camping/hiking bag, there is another in leather for conventions or business meetings and so on. Each one of them have its own amount of structural components and styles. And i tell you, having this "kits" save a lot of time.
Excellent video. Would you consider always listing what you are wearing? For example, would love to see the details of the shirt you are wearing in this video.
Hello Antonio, i just started college and i really want a kattee bag. unfortunately they dont ship to Europe. Can you provide few links where we can get them from EU?
After watching your video, I went over to Kattee’s web site and, after looking at their products, the one thing I noticed is their prices are of kind of low. All my life I’ve been told, “You get what you pay for!” I would like to get a good waxed canvas backpack, but some of the prices are anywhere from $50.00 to $500.00, “No I can’t see paying $500 for a pack.” I wouldn’t mind paying a couple of hundred. Would you have any suggestions? One other question, does the ounce weight of the canvas really determine the toughness of the canvas? Thank You for your time.
I've enjoyed my focused space backpack. Very lightweight and interior organizational structure makes sense. Definitely a smaller form factor which makes it nice for work as well as light/comfortable enough to flex for a small day hike.
Good timing. I actually just started looking for a more stylish backpack. I bought a $10 Eastsport backpack at Walmart over 5 yrs ago. I've used it almost everyday since and it still looks like new. Since I changed my style to look more "Adult" I've notice it really doesn't go with my style.
Just picked up a Kattee bag off Amazon in the U.K. Very well priced at £30 over here. I picked up the black and tan, and it looks really stylish. Anyone else pick up any other colours?
Really good video, thanks for the tip about Kattee, I'm not in the market for a backpack at the moment but I need a good briefcase, checking them out now.
Great Video! I checked out their site and I am going to order one of their leather messenger bags! I have been looking for a messenger bag for college for a while now! Thanks Antonio!
I've gone through soooo many backpacks over the years -- but I always seem to go back to Oakley bags. I simply can't destroy them. I do alot of hiking, traveling, motorcycling, etc., so I abuse my bags. Very few bags have stood the test. I'm dying for the perfect bag, though --- one that looks somewhat professional (and not like a teen's bag) but will also be functional and will carry camera gear onto location.
The Great thing about canvas is that you can water proof it by just using some wax and a Blow dryer and it is easy to wash in the washing machine.. But always remember to air dry, not in a dryer.
Just wanted to give my input I think Kattee bags may have quality issues. The one I received fall part on the first day of use. The only two items I had in this bag were one binder and one text book. I realize my sample size is very small and i have a replacement on order but so far for the cost I'm not impressed.
Hey RMRS, for college, I have a Herschel Little America bag, do you think that would be appropriate or should I opt for a briefcase, one of those leather shoulder ever day bags.
I'm not Antonio, but I think it depends on how you dress. If you are a jeans and t shirt type of guy, the Hershel bag should be fine. I think the Hershel bags are cleaner looking than other rucksacks. If you dress business casual most of the time get the briefcase. However, I would say get the briefcase anyway because it's a good investment for the future, leather ages well and it gives you the option to switch up your entire wardrobe.
+Sinnawai solid point - it does help if you pair your bag with how you dress up because if you're wearing something really casual - it doesn't work with the briefcase. I would say go for the cotton canvas backpack
I fell in love with the bag showed at 0.18 of the video. I found it on amazon but they said they can't ship it to Australia. Is there any way I can get my hands on that bag, I would love to know.
Hey man Do you think this size of backpack would fit someone who's between 13 to 17 years old. I am 19, but look like someone who's between 13 to 16 years old.. And I am 5"2 I really need this backpack. Size 30x20x10cm It's bayern munchen backpack..
+Real Men Real Style One style I had enjoyed for a while was a peacoat + cross-body "man purse" look. I didn't wear the peacoat as an overcoat, rather I would sometimes wear it in place of a sports jacket. I know you occasionally make ghost videos, but I don't think I've seen a video about peacoats or every-day-use-alternatives to backpacks. I'm not sure most "younger students" have the style I do, but those are my ideas.
Antonio I have a question sir. I'm in the IT industry in Silicon Valley. We do wear some slacks and blazers 2-3 times a week. The rest of the days casual. Is a backpack ok? What kind would you recommend?
I have a tendency to leave backpacks on the bus only to have to retrieve them from the lost and found. Rucksacks and duffle bags with the single should strap work much better for me. I can sit on the bus without having to remove the bag from my person. I simply slide the bag to the front of my body as I sit down. When I leave the bus, I don't leave the bag behind on the next seat. My duffle is great in the fall and spring when the mornings are cold enough to wear a coat but the afternoons are too warm. I have enough room in the bag to stuff in my coat. It beats having to walk home carrying the coat in my arms. They also serve as a sort of valet. I organize my compartments and pockets in the evening to carry the wallets, keys, and electronics I'll need for the next day. In the morning everything I need is in the bag ready to head out the door.
Thule backpack dropped their warranty from 25years to 3 years, should we still buy their backpack? why only 3 years, no more high quality? And what's the reasons and Benoit to get a roll top backpack?
I typically look for a backpack, with a Notebook computer padded sleeve, a pocket for a graphing calculator, a pocket and hooks were I can put all my pens, pens and small pieces, a ruler, hard glasses case, USB Flash Drive, earbuds, where I don't have to dig for them.
I've got a style dilemma for you Antonio! I love socks. Love them. I love crazy socks, classy socks, even the occasional sports teams socks (don't tell anybody that I have NFL socks on at the office though, it's just for good luck). However I have a problem. I am allergic to most sock blends. Pretty much anything that isn't you plain white ankle sock causes a reactions or makes my feet sweat crazy bad. Do you have any tips on how to maintain a sense of fashion on my feet without having to paint socks on or having to be the guy with white eyesore socks?
+etpiersel I would suggest to get your feet checked by a doctor and he'll actually recommend what you can do to prevent it from getting irritated when you wear socks
+Forest Beaver Messenger bags are casual such that they should not be worn with any professional clothing (suits, overcoats, etc.) or be used by anyone except messengers.
Thanks for your vedio, i just bought one backpack for backpacking from the omgnb.com, have you heared about this shop? It's not arrived yet for 3 days has passed, did i over worried? ...
Nice video. Been thinking about leaving my nylon laptop bags behind in order to get a more stylish option. I originally thought of leather, but I may check canvas as well. My only concern is that canvas may look too casual for a business environment, though. Will check kattee, anyways.
I'm not sure what your budget is, but if you are looking for a great leather briefcase two cool companies are Velorbis and Lotuff. They are on the pricey side but an awesome investment.
+Sinnawai Thanks for the tip. However, I was planning to keep a backpack instead of going for a briefcase. I reckon the first is more confortable and convenient for moving around the city and traveling too.
+TheColonelAngel They are a fine company - I like having the right tool for the occasion though. Was impressed with Kattee BUT I still am using my other bags as well!
Maxpedition makes tough as nails bags and packs as well. But they have that more "Tacti-cool" look to them. ;) As long as you don't mind looking like you just got off the plane from Afghanistan.
This video is perfectly in time, was struggling whether to get a backpack or a messenger? I'm in UK and need it for final 2 years of high school, what do you recommend? @realmenrealstyle
+Ayush Malik I would recommend the backpack - You need something that is suitable for your activities. Read more here: www.realmenrealstyle.com/buying-quality-backpack/
Great video! Also great timing because i was planning on getting a bag soon. I have a question; what colored belt and shoes should i wear to a special event where i am supposed to wear cream/wheat colored pants and white shirt? (I might aswell sue them for making us dress so poorly.)
+TheColonelAngel the day Antonio Centeno, the dude who literally lives from being as dapper and form fitting both clothes and societywise uses #THUGLIFE is the day the world has became a tad bit more crazier and a helluva lot fun
Hello Atonio, which of their backpacks do you have? I'm in the UK and was thinking of buying this one of theirs: www.amazon.co.uk/Kattee%C2%AE-Vintage-Camping-Military-Backpack/dp/B00H4SID7I/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1441143482&sr=8-4&keywords=kattee+backpack Is that suitable for school/university use? i.e. putting books, lunch, etc. in? Also, is there one of those special links we use on Amazon that gives revenue to your site? Cheers
Samsonite is a very good company to try out when it comes to back packs and tote bags. I have a ballistic nylon carrying bag from them that I bought from them last year for college, and I must say that I am very impressed by the durability and quality of it. Definitely will be with me for a couple of years or so. #SmartPurchase

This is so important I appreciate the advice Antonio 😎
+ALEXANDER MAUGA you're very much welcome Alexander
Thank you so much. I was spending so much time looking for a bag and the Kattee bag fit all my needs. Great video and great channel.

What do you think about messenger bags?
+Forest Beaver Messenger bags are casual such that they should not be worn with any professional clothing (suits, overcoats, etc.) or be used by anyone except messengers.
Well what if u buy online you can't check if the straps is good or not
Wow nice n informative video. I created a video on same topic but differently presented with other necessary information.
Thanks for your vedio, i just bought one backpack for backpacking from the omgnb.com, have you heared about this shop? It's not arrived yet for 3 days has passed, did i over worried? ...
+Tj Tan finally i received it, the quality is ok
Where can I buy the Katee Bags ?
+Ráüł Badulkhan Here you go: www.realmenrealstyle.com/260-amz-vintage-rucksack
What do you think about cordura?
It`s Nylon, it`s up to 1000Denier, shouldn't it be just as durable as canvas?
If those are too expensive, a cheaper, but great quality company is Castello Devarg. They are having a sale right now actually.
+Sinnawai Thanks for the tip. However, I was planning to keep a backpack instead of going for a briefcase. I reckon the first is more confortable and convenient for moving around the city and traveling too.
+Oscar Manrique yes - go for a leather backpack for a more formal option
This is better than Ashley's, mostly because her video was way above my price range!
guess I gotta upgrade from my jansport bag lol
+TheColonelAngel They are a fine company - I like having the right tool for the occasion though. Was impressed with Kattee BUT I still am using my other bags as well!
Lol
can I have the all the bags you mentioned in the video ! I am dying here ! literally
Thanks for this vid
Maxpedition makes tough as nails bags and packs as well. But they have that more "Tacti-cool" look to them. ;) As long as you don't mind looking like you just got off the plane from Afghanistan.
+Paul Waller true!
I got a Burton bag for like 70 dollars I like it and it fits between 4 or 5 books. it makes me look like a hipster though.
+matt marino really? it gives off a hiker look!
Great video. But I thought only the army calls them rucks. I always preferred Alice.
+TheBigjake04 thanks! that's right - mainly used in the UK and western military forces
Hi Sir

+Ayush Malik I would recommend the backpack - You need something that is suitable for your activities.

Military and tactical bag packs are super durable..companies like maxpedition, Triple Aught Design, TOPO...etc are expensive but worth it
+Operator0190 Agreed!
thanks !
+HorseRancher92 you're welcome!
try llbean. it is one of the best longest lasting backpacks. I've hade mine since kindergarten!
Great video! Also great timing because i was planning on getting a bag soon.
I have a question; what colored belt and shoes should i wear to a special event where i am supposed to wear cream/wheat colored pants and white shirt?
(I might aswell sue them for making us dress so poorly.)
+NotCoolAaron I would say wear a black dress belt - it's more formal
#THUGLIFE ahh man I died of laughter
+TheColonelAngel Me too!
+TheColonelAngel the day Antonio Centeno, the dude who literally lives from being as dapper and form fitting both clothes and societywise uses #THUGLIFE is the day the world has became a tad bit more crazier and a helluva lot fun
+TheColonelAngel Glad you caught that Easter egg :)
Hello Atonio, which of their backpacks do you have? I'm in the UK and was thinking of buying this one of theirs: www.amazon.co.uk/Kattee%C2%AE-Vintage-Camping-Military-Backpack/dp/B00H4SID7I/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1441143482&sr=8-4&keywords=kattee+backpack
Is that suitable for school/university use? i.e. putting books, lunch, etc. in?
Also, is there one of those special links we use on Amazon that gives revenue to your site?
Cheers
+The Shamanic Nucleus yes - actually canvas backpacks for school or short hikes
+Real Men Real Style Thanks, Boss! Gave your video a thumbs up.
+Cody Brooks yes - top notch quality
