honestly they should add more text to the villagers. it kind of sucks how most of the villagers say the same thing over and over again.

I think the bulk crafting is a good example of how something so simple and vital is being held back with no good reason or clarity why they're so reluctant. They have no open communication with their fans and so it feels like it's being held back because of stubbornness or greed.

I miss the mini games so bad. It was disheartening to see kappa and no mention of them. I could see them making us pay for them which doesn't sit well with me. Maybe if they were a couple bucks and we got some free I'd bite.

Really all is I’ve wanted was multiple island per switch and that would bring me back after not playing for over a year. I kinda started hating my island, but I had too many good villagers, items, etc that I didn’t want to lose. Update still looks cool tho for new players and people who still have fun playing

To be perfectly honest I am very happy with how new horizons is right now, even before I was. I have played last games and yet I still never understood how people continuously were so negative towards the game.
Yes there is some content missing from older games such as mini games and more dialogue. But new horizons offers so many new features that are game changing like terraforming and placing stuff outside. I feel as though people sometimes forget that new horizons isn’t meant to be like past games. It’s a NEW game.
As mentioned in the video, new horizons is more of a sandbox game. It’s about designing and creation. And I love that!
If every animal crossing game was the same, then what would be the point?
Sometimes I think people really forget how much of an improvement new horizons really is. I mean the graphics alone for starters.
New leaf and past games are still around, people can always play them if they miss the old features so much. But I think pressuring developers to add every piece of old content back and saying new horizons is ‘the worst animal crossing game’ simply because it’s not the same is unfair to say.
I’m convinced at this point that this community will never be happy. All the time and energy spent complaining could have been spent really immersing and enjoying the game and all it has to offer in its own unique way.
That’s just my opinion though. 🙂

You always make the very best and most interesting Animal Crossing theories and your content is always informative and entertaining and I love your channel and content 😃🙋‍♀️. P.S I was even wondering the same questions about the new update too I really do hope that it's worth the wait 💁‍♀️🙋‍♀️

Right? This should be the most-viewed AC channel on RUclips. The vast majority of what I know about the history of Animal Crossing and especially the characters comes solely from this channel. So many new people are playing Animal Crossing for the first time. We’re excited, but don’t even know how much backstory we’re missing. This channel is as much the reason I love Animal Crossing as ACNH itself.
      Thank you, Tyler!

Honestly think a lot more stuff is coming that they cannot fit into the direct. Villager dialogue is probably one of these since it is very minor minus them asking to hang out

I really hope Nintendo pays attention to concerns like this. For villager dialogue, as much as people masochistically praise that in ACGC, this is really just the nostalgia talking. ACGC villagers were actually stupidly mean -- who spews out a stream of rage-filled hate to your face after you so much as say hi to them? And at the opposite extreme, in NL and NH, the dialogue's been infamously bland and repetitive. That's why I'd prefer dialogue like that in CF; much more varied, mostly friendly but with a little bite sometimes.
But really...CF was released in 2008 and GC in 2001. Those were different times with different developers. I hope NH villagers get spicier dialogue at some point, I really do, but I wouldn't count on anything like a return to the old dialogue in a game released 20 years after the original.

This video is balanced and important. I am new to Animal Crossing. I tried to get into New Leaf, but just couldn’t for a variety of reasons.
Videos on RUclips, especially yours, have given me insight into these characters which have been essential into turning me into a hardcore fan. THANK YOU❣️
Because of you, I know the backstories of Nook and the Nooklings, the Ables, KK, etc… Again, THANK YOU❣️
There are more people like me, new to the series and very excited, than ever before in the history of Animal Crossing. It is a very good idea to update dialogue and backstories to make each character unique. Getting us to really fall in love with individual characters is the way to ensure that we buy future games, because we have an emotional connection.
New fans having the same depth of investment in these characters is a very good business decision. Without this, there is a real risk that casual players will have a good time designing in New Horizons, but not come back for the next installment. Plus, there are new characters like Raymond and Shino who are incredibly popular. Making these characters really shine with unique personalities sells Amiibo cards. It’s not just a great content decision. It’s good for Nintendo’s bottom line.
I want to hear Sable, Mable, and Label tell me their stories, the way veteran players got to. I’m thankful for RUclipsrs who share the backstories, but it’s still not the same as experiencing it myself. I really hope this is in the 2.0 update or coming very soon.
Brewster’s Roost is perhaps a step toward that, but it has a glaring problem: It seems to be entirely dependent upon Amiibo. The Direct didn’t even show the possibility of us inviting our own Residents to the Roost without Amiibo. Isabelle wandered in, but didn’t sit down, if I recall correctly. Could this mean that the Residents may wander in, but then take their coffee to go and we don’t get to hang out with them unless we’re lucky enough to have their Amiibo?
I wish that phone could be used via Amiibo AND *any Villager we’ve ever met*, like a Contacts list. I’m curious about ALL of the Animals, but Nintendo offers no way to simply buy a full set of the Amiibo cards. I wish they would, but that’s a tangent. Anyway, I still have a lot of questions about the Roost, especially that phone and inviting.
As for mini games, my hope actually ~is~ for paid DLC. Hear me out. I want the quality of the mini games to be as overwhelmingly good and complete as what we’re getting in Happy Home Paradise. I want lots of games, all fun to play over and over again without getting bored. I want them to be playable with random ACNH players online, so that we have a way to meet and interact with each other. I want them to unlock things we can use on our main island and the archipelago. I want it to be just as much like a fully integrated full spinoff game as Happy Home Paradise. I’d happily pay another $25 for that, and I doubt it would be as fully realized as what I’m hoping for *unless* it’s paid DLC.
Resident dialogue, backstories, and new stories, though, should be a free update, and should come ASAP. Even HHP seems aware of this, in that it has us focusing on each character’s individual dream home. I love this! But is it also Sherb’s “dream” to work in a restaurant? Is that how he got that job? How ~do~ they get jobs? Are we assigning those? Is it “if we build it, they will come”, and the game assigns jobs? Does the game assign those jobs based on each Animal’s established sense of character, or is it random? I still have a lot of questions.
But you’re right. 2.0 looks great and I will purchase it the *moment* it’s possible, but the two biggest things I wanted - more individual personality to these characters that I’m meeting and falling in love with *for the first time*, like a LOT of ACNH players; and more ways to fully enjoy the game with my real-life friends and ACNH lovers around the world - are not clearly addressed.
If I’m honest, though, I have to say that I’m very hopeful. That Direct was such a mind-exploding rainbow glitter firecracker of perfect decisions, I really can’t imagine them not addressing these two issues. That said, I fear the mini games may not arrive until a paid 3.0 + Legacy Update, when they also unlock all the holidays and events, the final update of the game. I hope we get updated Resident/Villager/Animal dialogue and backstory for ALL of the characters ASAP. I know it’s a lot of work, but it’s absolutely worth it in making sure that ACNH’s record-breaking success does not become a fluke created by temporary events. You’ve got us. Now keep us.💖
Again, @TheBigOReview, thank you so much for your wonderful content. I’m off to watch the “Part 1” of your Direct reaction again now!

Holy gosh dude, you nailed it with those two big problems New Horizons has. I totally agree.
This is a underrated video, thank you for making it.
I feel like there is quite a sum of content that they didn’t talk about since they made a brief mention of it, oh I’m so eager to see what that stuff is, please better villager interactions..

this animal crossing is the first one I've played and since I didn't play the other games and I'm only here to decorate and see how other people decorate I don't have any of the concerns you have. I'm super excited for the update and the dlc.
I do feel bad for the people that have played the earlier games and aren't satisfied with the game now because it must suck to see a game not living up to what you expect.

While I agree that huge improvements to villager dialogue should be free, I think that the mini games should be a dlc. I wouldn’t be surprised if they are saving some sort of huge mini game multiplayer dlc expansion, on par with the content in happy home paradise. However, I suppose that would be a huge barrier for entry for casual players ($60 game + $20 online + ~$25 dlc). Who knows tho. Only time will tell

I've been an AC fan since 2008. To me, ACNH is and will always stay the worst main game in the series. Even with DLC, I have no will to continue playing. I can't feel the magic I felt with all the other games

As a long time fan of AC something seemed wrong about the villagers and I never realized it until your video. They’re just cookie cuts of fixed personality lines, not individual characters.
