I listened to this when it first came out and finally I know what this sounds like to me,this sounds like the opening/final boss theme of an anime game,like things get dire when you manage to the boss down to half health,then cutscene starts and the main character has some kind of triumphant moment or maybe a "power of friendship" moment,then this kicks in as the battle continues,maybe with the player getting some kind of power up that makes the boss a LITTLE easier but still a tough fight.
