Watching this in a hotel at a seaside town bordering Germany/Poland. I was the only England fan there, mostly Germans were supporting Colombia. What a night! Pickford you beautiful being 😃
Was watching this sat outside the Pantheon in Rome via the restaurant TVs. Sooooo many Colombians were sat around and me and my girlfriend seemed to be the only English people. Even the Italian waiters were supporting Colombia. It was a funny atmosphere. When we won we celebrated with Ice Cream and a nice walk to the Trevi Fountain.
I remember watching this game… I had just boarded a cruise from nyc, and there was a swarm of Colombians watching the game on a little Tv out on the deck. When England won, I think their vacation was ruined lol

I do love watching penalty shoot-outs ! So many over the decades, so many "top" players have missed, sometimes their team still wins...sometimes not. Some penalties go in that if the keeper had gone the other way / stood their ground they may well have saved . I know all penalties that go in count equally...but the very best are those where the keeper goes the right way but still cannot stop them due to speed/placement .....

Partido muy sufrido donde ambos equipos dejaron mucho que desear con su fútbol. Inglaterra solo pudo marcar de penal y Colombia solo pudo marcar porque Yerry Mina fue nuestro ángel de la guarda ese mundial. Ambos equipos jugaron muy rastreros y un juego muy físico donde se incomodaron hasta el hastío. La tanda de penaltis fue un justo castigo donde el fútbol se decantó por Inglaterra. Los 3 leones rompieron su racha de perder en penaltis y Colombia cerró un proceso histórico sin perder el partido jugándole a un equipo europeo de a igual. El Fútbol es divino y quien sabe que hubiera pasado despues si Dier falla ese penal y Bacca marca el suyo.

I completely agree. He does his job knowing the history of England and Penalty Shootouts only to then watch the next player on his team throw away the advantage he just gave them. Not to mention to then have to watch another teammate get his Penalty saved meaning the pressure was once again back on him. Yes other players who have missed Penalties in the past have had to live with it. But only the Keeper has to face a minimum of five meaning when they miss the weight is maximised.
I was at my friend's apartment for this game and at the end of this shootout the neighbour below, a Frenchman, came up to tell us to stop jumping around because the ceiling was shaking.

Partido muy sufrido donde ambos equipos dejaron mucho que desear con su fútbol. Inglaterra solo pudo marcar de penal y Colombia solo pudo marcar porque Yerry Mina fue nuestro ángel de la guarda ese mundial. Ambos equipos jugaron muy rastreros y un juego muy físico donde se incomodaron hasta el hastío. La tanda de penaltis fue un justo castigo donde el fútbol se decantó por Inglaterra. Los 3 leones rompieron su racha de perder en penaltis y Colombia cerró un proceso histórico sin perder el partido jugándole a un equipo europeo de a igual.
El Fútbol es divino y quien sabe que hubiera pasado despues si Dier falla ese penal y Bacca marca el suyo.

He does his job knowing the history of England and Penalty Shootouts only to then watch the next player on his team throw away the advantage he just gave them.
Not to mention to then have to watch another teammate get his Penalty saved meaning the pressure was once again back on him.
Yes other players who have missed Penalties in the past have had to live with it.
But only the Keeper has to face a minimum of five meaning when they miss the weight is maximised.
