- The Wild Badger Power 26cc Trimmer and the Husqvarna 128LD Trimmer are comparable in features, but the model from Wild Badger Power is nearly $100 less expensive as I record this video. The company sent me both trimmers to test and compare side-by-side to get an idea of how their product stacks up to the Husqvarna Trimmer. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by the results of testing and comparison of both products. Give the video a watch and see what you think!

Never heard of the Wild Badger, but I’ve had my Husqvarna 128LD for four years now. I have the edger, pole saw, and mini tiller attachments for it that have all been heavily used without any issues. I used the mini tiller to till up a small 10x12 garden in the backyard, and the pole saw to cut down a black locust thicket that was growing along the bank of my Mother-in-law’s driveway. I did have to tweak the L/H screws just a little because of how hard I was running it, but it still runs perfect. I’ve also pulled the muffler off to check the piston and cylinder and it still looks brand new. But that’s from running nothing but ethanol free gas with either Amsoil Saber or Echo Red Armor mixed just a little richer at 40:1 for a little extra protection. Got my Husqvarna 128LD on sale at Lowe’s for $180, I think.
That is awesome - always nice to have equipment that works well and that you love. I did not have much luck with this model, but I could have gotten a lemon - it came from Amazon warehouse so who knows. I have had heard several people say nothing but great things about Husquavarna. I’ve had a 128ld for 10 years and trim and cut heavy weeds every week to 2 weeks around 8 acres of property which is mostly fenced and it has been absolutely dependable and does a great job . My next one will be a Husqvarna 128ld

Great video and honest review. A lot of people are loyal to just a certain brand and push for that brand no matter what but a lot of times with these bigger brands they're just paying for a brand name. With this rough economy and the cost of everyday items and things we need to live we have to look where to save money where we can, and due to that I'm going with giving this Wild Badger brand trimmer a try instead of buying another Stihl again. I don't do commercial work, I just have a 1 acre yard with lots of hills filled with all kinds of brush and weeds around me, so this will work for that. Mine will be showing up on Tuesday.

With roughly 50 accounts, four seasons in my current and only gas trimmer in my business is a poulan pro PR28sd. I primarily use electric trimmers however, I've been looking to replace my Poulan and have it as a backup. I like gas for the extra power and the multi attachment use. I went Poulan pro because it's a quality Husqvarna made unit just rebranded yet, it's not stuck to just their own attachments it can accept attachments from all sorts of brands Like Troy-Bilt, Craftsman, Ryobi, Hart, Black Max and even badger. For a while I was thinking about getting a Husqvarna because it's the most similar trimmer to my Poulan pro on the market. With the extra replacement parts, great warranty and the cheaper price I've been considering the badger multi attachment, so I appreciate you making this video to help me and others out.
That's awesome. I have to say that I have been surprisingly impressed with the Wild Badger brand - from this trimmer, to the battery saws I recently tested out. I was hesitant at first, but after some time using them they are working great and are fairly priced. Great looking trimmer - almost an exact match of that Husqvarna for much cheaper. I need to check out this brand, looks like they have some nice stuff.
It is almost an exact match. I have honestly been quite impressed with the quality of this brand.
By the way the Husqvarna trimmer having trouble idling my Poulan pro did the same thing when I first got it because it's Husqvarna made however it eventually eased up after about 2-3 weeks of use. Something that might help is after starting, kind of rapidly squeeze the trigger and let go for a few times in a couple seconds it'll slightly raise the idle and help it I do a little smother.
Interesting, I have never used Husqvarna prior to using this trimmer so I was not sure. Almost like the engine needs to be broken in. You would think they could redesign that to run smooth out of the box like other units I have used in the past like Stihl and even this Wild Badger unit.

Some trimmers like Husqvarna I believe require ethanol free. Fuel. I read that on their website recently. May want to look at your manua.
I like the fact that it comes with the the blade and the head rotates around. Great review video showcasing both trimmers - not a bad price on that either!

I'm having the same issue with that Husqvarna model. I've taken it to the repair shop and few weeks later it's acting up again only running on half throttle.
Yeah, I am not sure what the issue is with that trimmer. I have never had a brand new trimmer act up like that and not idle. I have heard other's having the same issue with it, so it has to be a manufacturer issue I guess. Thanks for watching!

Is it better to get to 52 CC with the more power or stick with the one with the lower horsepower wild badger
It just depends on what you plan to use it on. I tend to always choose the more powerful options just in case I have a use for it down the road. Thanks for watching!

My guess is that it won't last as long as the Husqvarna.
It takes standard replacement parts that you can find at any parts retailer, either in person or online. As for the longevity, I can't speak to that since this will only be my second season using it, but it's worked well so far. Thanks for watching!

Good comparison looks like a close match up. The wild badge has the upper hand because of that added handle feats which was smart on there part. The only thing I am curious on is the bump feature on the string trimmer. When bumped and I don’t know if it was because you did it on rocks sounded a little clunky like it can not last too long. Apart from that the savings cost still gives the unit the upper hand so looks like yea wild badger can go head to head with the Husqvarna unit.
It bump feeds well, I didn't hit the rock well there. I had no issues with it feeding since I've been using it. This is a great option for someone looking for a similar trimmer to the Husqvarna but wants to save $100. Thanks for watching as always Dan!
I was going to buy a used Husqvarna 128LD for $75 dollars on marketplace but after watching this video I’m really tempted to buy the badger. I’ve never heard of them until this video came up. Is it worth it?
Honestly, I use the Wild Badger unit all the time and love it. I took off the deflector shield and put on better string and it works great. I ended up getting rid of the Husqvarna unit because I didn't like it - it had issues idling/running - not sure if I got a lemon or what. Thanks for watching!

@rarriboy90 The pole saw did ok - I wish they gave it more power with a 40V battery like they did the chainsaw, but it worked great on smaller limbs. If you are trying to use their pole saw on larger limbs I would definitely recommend something more powerful. The saws are Oregon blades and accept Oregon replacement chains - I haven't bought any yet but they tend to be around $15 or so online. The chainsaw did come with an extra chain.

Using the badger 2 weeks dosnt really tell if it's going to last for year's to come, husqvarna is proven to be reliable

I was very impressed with the quality of the trimmer compared to the Husqvarna. It started easy, ran great, and I think it performed better too in my opinion.
