Trevor trick # 1 is a VERY common Steely Dan chord. It is hard to call something a major 9 chord with no 3 because 3 defines if it is major or minor. If we have a triad with D,F#, A but with a G in the bass, Steely Dan called that D/G on their charts, but I agree it certianly sounds a heck of a lot like a Gmaj9. It also depends on the particular chord progression and the function it plays within that to determine what to name it. In the end it is just chord semantics but can get very messy.
saw the inviolate tour in november 4th row and i was completely blown away at Steve Vais music . HF is one of my favorite bungle songs . the fact that the bass player wrote it , well lets just say mr bungle broke the mold . its such an effecting piece of music . nothing like it.
There is a strong musical connection between Mr. Bungle and Steve Vai, although because of aesthetic / genre BS it's hard for people to see it. They work with a lot of the same raw music theory materials / vocabulary. Thanks for being one of the few who can cross over!

This is such a great channel, Carl.
I learn so much every time!
Very cool, Webster. I'll keep at it, then. Than.

Glad I found this channel. Subbed instantly. Very good video btw. You’re very knowledgeable
Awesome, thank you for the encouragement. Someone's gotta talk about this stuff, may as well be me.
Greatest song I ever heard in my life. Met Trevor real quick in NYC in 2012 (Melvins Lite) but I only mentioned Retrovertigo being amazing.
Aspects of a lot of VANGELIS stuff, and George Duke's stuff in Zappa.
From VANGELIS to VANHALEN 🤘
Muy bien, gran analisis
More bungle, please
There will come a time. I can't make everything about those dudes!
But thank you, I appreciate the request for more of that wrong note jazz. It'll happen.
Could you hook a brother up with this sheet? I am having a really hard time learning this by ear...
