I'm only beginning the second half of my first year as a SRNA in a DNAP program and I'm already overwhelmed thinking about what I want out of a first job. On the one hand you want to be able to perform all the skills you're trained to perform and develop as a skilled provider that will probably give you some good job mobility down the line, but on the other hand I'd sweep the floor for 200+k to get out from under these loans.
Apply for HPSP scholarship. School is paid for by whatever military branch u choose in exchange for service after you go to school. Plus you’re paid throughout your school career without having to actually work
Many programs will not allow working. Some programs allow it but heavily discourage it. You won't physically have enough time in the week to significantly work and pass the program. I've known of a rare few who have picked up a couple PRN shifts per month.
Those are for practicing CRNAs who have a masters in anesthesia and just lack the research courses and large research project component. No CRNA training program is online.
It’s not an online program, it’s a school offering full time course program. www.collegevaluesonline.com/rankings/affordable-certified-nurse-anesthetist-programs/ This was the website I visited and I saw the list of the schools. I just want to know the difference of some school having to offer less amount and higher amount for the program.
That websites data is wrong. I clicked on one of the CRNA programs website and it was over $20,000 more than the website you linked listed. I don't know the nuances of why one program may be more expensive than others, I'm sure it depends on many factors.
Why would a practice ask you to give up skills? Wouldn't they want you to be doing all you can? Is it an insurance billing thing? I am assuming you are hinting at a anesthesiologist or other MD doing a specific procedure such as a central line or nerve block.
Not the CRNA but the doctor anesthesiologists! Does CRNA has to work under Doctor Anesthesiologists? I ask this question because of this video ruclips.net/video/xxQB1R8AF4A/видео.html
I was referring to CRNAs and physician anesthesiologists when I said colleagues. Both providers are fully licensed and trained independent providers and neither require the other to practice.
@@BoltCRNA Hi Bolt can a CRNA perform anesthesia in any setting? I have seen it reported that CRNAs can perform anesthesia in any setting that an anesthesiologist can. So for instance what about a hard case like cardiac open heart surgery? Or pediatric cardiac case? I know anesthesiologist go and do fellowships etc, but can CRNAs do those same type surgery’s? Thank you!
Lol. Pay goes down? With going home at 3pm with no calls or weekends you will still be getting at least 150-180k which is more than enough to live a nice life. Anything above is just mere enrichment.....
John Doe that is my perspective as well going into my second year of school. I would like to go somewhere that I can get the best experience I can but also having a family that time off after 3 pm is almost invaluable. Great video as always Bolt!

Matthew Ellison We all go through that mental tug of war as an SRNA. In your 3rd year when you’re interviewing you’ll make the best choice for you.
You’re excellent at getting your points across
Looking near me (upstate, ny) early 2023 position in Oswego $275k + $20k sign on, 7 weeks PTO, malpractice covered. Crazy.
This was extremely helpful and informative, thank you!
You're welcome!
Nice video! It’s fun watching you review this stuff. We used to say: “Money, location, autonomy: pick two”. You’re more complete though :)
I get asked this type of question so much I decided it was time to go as in depth as possible so people would get a full picture.
Also very good points on professional satisfaction.
Can you expand upon which healthcare corporations, locations, etc that restrict the full scope of CRNA's, generally speaking?
Im hopefully going to crna school but im broke broke,I literally have nothing...should i take a loan for the whole 3 years of crna....
Yes.
No do strike nursing for a while ;)

@boltcrna does crna schools look into whether or not the nursing program (ASN) I attended isn’t accredited ? But the BSN one is accredited.
Very informative! Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Can we work while being a srna to afford our personal expenses ?

I saw some schools online offering less than 15,000$ for DNAP, what’s your view on that?

is it possible to work as a nurse and study for crna at the same time?
Not likely. Most students can't work at all. The rare few who manage anything it is a couple shifts a month PRN.
Bolt CRNA how do you pay for things while in school? Like rent and food and clothes and stuff...
@@pinkPaige1103 I think he just got a loan for it all. Not fun but it works, I guess.
thanks for this video

How do you pay for rent and food and personal costs while in crna school?
Most likely with savings or student loans.
Thanks a lot for the video, but I want to know how do I get admission into crna school as a foreign nurse?
Can u have this kind of balance as a physician anesthesiologist?
It might be a little more challenging but I do have some colleagues that manage to have a good work/life balance as a physician provider.
can I work as an RN and take CRNA?
Working during the program is essentially impossible. I've known of a couple who did some per diem work.
Hi Jason, as a CRNA do you feel that you are not intimidated by anesthesiologist?
No, why would I be intimidated by my colleagues in anesthesia?

Ok, I’m just a baby SRNA, but I’m confused as to how giving up some skills will increase my salary..?
It isn't as black and white as that but if you're willing to sacrifice some of your skills that means more jobs (salaries) are open to you.

Why wouldn’t you be able to practice or have to give up the skills you’ve learned
Because certain group cultures will request it of you. Lots of politics in anesthesia.
give up a lil professionalisms
