- The UN special rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territories has urged UN member states to intervene in the crisis in Gaza, accusing the international community of being "paralysed" in its reaction to the tragedy. Speaking to FRANCE 24, Francesca Albanese said she stands by her earlier comments, when the death toll in Gaza was half what it is now, that there is a "serious risk of genocide". According to the Hamas-run health ministry, more than 15,890 people have been killed in Israeli air strikes on Gaza since October 7. Albanese accused Israel of aiming to destroy not just Hamas, but also Gaza itself. She joined us for Perspective.

Does the United States, as a nation supporting Israel's blockade, have a legal obligation to ensure that Palestinian civilians have adequate food, water, medical supplies, and other necessities of life?
Does anything prevent the United States from setting up Mobile Army Surgical Hospitals along the coast of Gaza, to supply aid there?

Your definition of “occupation” is different from the Arabs’ definition. One means occupation of Gaza and the West Bank; another means occupation of the whole territory or Mandate Palestine, except for what Jordan, Syria, etc. took.

I wish two state solution be implemented with strict conditions of state responsibility under international law. Both state of Palestine and Israel prosper under this responsibility.
